http://www.speedrun.com/run/9mex832z Current any% run, done on the PS2 version. The loading times are horrid for the PS2, so I'd say at least half an hour can already be shaved off.

Why can't we all just work together like with the 120 star, this is so silly. Reminds me of those very old SDA days.
Because the SM64 community is full of possessive dicks lol, not going to name anyone though

The authors working on it prefer to be low-key like with previous runs we have worked on, that end with a surprise submission making everyone lose their minds from the hype.

Neat, I need to keep up with Twitter. Take all the time your need. It's been ages since a really polished TAS has been done.
The SM64 120 stars TAS was only about 3 years ago.

Nice ego fest ALAKTORN. get really mad when I watch Pacman too. For the record, this was mostly meant to be a joke submission. Looks like you missed the joke. I don't post suboptimal TASes, and neither does most people on the site. If there IS a suboptimal TAS you know about....why don't you fix that? Cancelling this submission.

Pretty much. It takes like 6 in-game frames to equip, so it's not like it's a huge time loss.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that! Just because a new trick was found for 0 star doesn't mean everyone is just going to drop what they're doing and work on it.

SamsaraTF: fun fact
SamsaraTF: http://tasvideos.org/2640M.html this has been published for over a year
SamsaraTF: one single vote
Q: What's the point of this topic? A: The original point of this topic was to vote on movies that have less then 3 votes so that the little voting thingy wouldn't display "ratings too few to show". But I sort of realized, that's not enough. I think the best way of preventing this sort of event in the future is to discuss how to fix the way ratings are done. So, if you have any suggestions on how to improve rating movies, let us know!

Surely here will accept any trash that ends in game over by a strange glitch
First off, this is not trash. This is a well optimized TAS, and an excellent example of how speedrunning can break a game. Second off, a strange glitch is not what this is. As you can see from the branch name, it is a 'game end glitch'.

The published sketch glitch movie has the exact same ending, and that was accepted. This shouldn't even be an issue.

Yo good work so far. I was just wondering on day 152 we were always wondering it it would be possible to skip the cutscene trigger in the graveyard if we had the heartless die as you were transitioning screens (Similar to the Abu skip on day 51). We ruled it out for single segment but it might be doable for the TAS. Also if you can find an out of bounds for 255 maze then it might be possible to skip the first guard but we've never been able to find anything.
I actually did test that. It would certainly be possible, but it would end up being slower since it would require positioning a pumpkin basically right next to the exit. I didn't manage to find any OOB skips in 255, but I did test the guard skip a bit. It's about a 12-14 frame window or so.

This isn't intended. How do you do it exactly?
* Paint a section of input, the longer it is the more noticeable the effect will be * Insert or remove a frame before that section of input, anything that actively changes the framecount of the movie basically * Undoing this change will readjust every frame of that section of input and count each change as a re-record * Redoing the change does the same thing Example: Paint 2000 frames of input. Insert a frame at 1. Undo it. You gained 2000 re-records. Redo it. You gained 2000 re-records again. The effect is magnified if you copy-paste insert longer sections of input at a time. Example: Paint 3000 frames of input. Copy 5 frames and paste insert them at frame 1. Undo it. You gained 15000 re-records. Redo it and you gain 15000 more.

[2653] GB Pokémon: Red Version "Gotta Catch 'Em All!" by MrWint in 1:54:56.62 is an excellent example of how glitchy gen 1 Pokemon games are.
