I just don't see the reasoning behind rejecting this run though. It's a well done run that was done on an official port by Nintendo. Bear in mind that things such as [2802] NES Donkey Kong: Original Edition "all items" by adelikat in 01:33.83 have been published, in what is essentially a romhack version of the NES game. If we're talking a mild to severe degrade in entertainment due to obsoleting a better run, this has happened before with [2047] SNES Chrono Trigger "save glitch" by turska & inichi in 03:28.06. Still, if obsoleting the ntsc any% run is absolutely, 100%, not an option, then making this its own branch would make the most sense.

Dude, seriously? You're counting the people in support and not even bothering to count how many people oppose? Ever heard of "due diligence"? :D This game pretty obviously fails point two, three, and four on your list.

I think this should obsolete the NTSC TAS as well. The glitches used do not fundamentally change how the game is played. Think of it like how Rygar handles it, where both versions have movies on the site.

Got it working. Double Control's effects also stack with the Julius Moves glitch, which lets your MP regenerate so you don't get stuck in boss fights. Link to video

O_O Edit: Tried getting it to work. Seems like it varies based on inventory/money or something. Could you perhaps make a movie file so this is easier to replicate?

Hey I remember this game. I'm glad you didn't quit over the first rejection; thanks for making this run! 😊
He was already working on this version when he submitted the other one. Anywho, giving this a Yes.

Oh good, now we can finally obsolete that stupid first lap TAS. Giving this a yes.

Giving this a solid Yes and also recommending it for Stars (yes, really).

....the TAS was all right. Giving it a Yes. Also, side note, I agree that if an emulator is banned it should stay banned, not suddenly be allowed because a high profile game was TASed on it.

This is a really great TAS. It shows what can be done with a relatively moderate game. I hope you plan on doing Tomb Raider III or The Last Revelation next. Goodness knows those games are strange (plus, a run meter).

Nah, I'd think it would be published here under a "New Game +" glitch category or something. But you should definitely have the setup file ready regardless.

Giving it a tentative Yes. The amount you skip is impressive, but the movement (particularly the camera) feels unoptimal, and there's a lot of slow stuff. Would be interested in seeing you TAS the PS1 version of Chamber of Secrets regardless.

Late but this belongs here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/44922481 Basically you can use save corruption to bypass certain event triggers. It doesn't let you skip the whole game, since the game's flags are very rigid, but it does let you cut out a good chunk.

Eh, I guess it would make sense to replace the current any% run. Giving it a Meh.

I'm missing the difference between CB and RCB. Looks the exact same to me.
'RCB is basically doing the Cruise Boost inputs backwards, which saves a second each time but it's hard to do. ' Notice how he positions the camera so it's to Spongebob's side, and Spongebob does that weird 'crouching' thing? That's a RCB.

Could I have the time stamps for Camper Skip and Reverse Cruise Boost? I'm not sure what those are.
26:16 for RCB and 42:36 Camper Skip RCB is basically doing the Cruise Boost inputs backwards, which saves a second each time but it's hard to do. Camper skip is....well, he explains it.

You can't just add weird rules to your run and expect it to make it better. Giving this a No.

Link to video Shift's submission video for Early Powers (basically using a cheat code to get BB/CB immediately). Notable for having Camper Skip and Reverse Cruise Boost in it.

It seems like a NG+ type of category if it were to be done.

but this run will be quickly obsoleted when someone changes the game speed to do it faster. :)
If someone were to do a Speed 1 TAS, they should do it on the TG-16 version since the top speed in that one is far faster. I think having this one as a stand-in for what the DOS version would be like is better then ruining its pacing with being real fast.
