Man, poor Crusader of Centy. It is everyone's second choice. (Including mine)

So, is there anyone with the ability who's willing to put those files on the site?

When I was making TASes I seemed to gravitate toward games that weren't on the site, or variations on games that were which weren't represented (for example: Aria of Sorrow "all souls"). I think the goal was to expand the library of the site or forge new ground. As for qualities, I tended toward games with interesting graphics of music and relatively straightforward gameplay.

Thanks for doing that. I still haven't found a good file hosting site (and a lot of the others I tried were being stupid.)

Since nobody protested, I have finished renaming all the files on the site. Here's the link: http://depositfiles.com/files/6xmsbckgm Notes: You may notice that Gremlins 2 does not start on version 1. That is because all files before the version I started on are named "solstice." I'm pretty sure that the wrong files are in those spots. As often as possible, I tried to preserve the obsoletion chain with my game name and categories. I figured that was one of the higher priority tasks. I usually chose American titles for games when I had a choice. Feel free to check if I made any mistakes, and if everything's kosher, someone with the power to do so can replace the files on the site with these. EDIT: Also hacks are listed in their respective systems.

I noticed while renaming all the input files on the site that the Batman Genesis youtube movie has been removed by its owner. I'm not sure who was hosting it. I don't think it was rogueyoshi or webnations, since their videos are still up, but if that user had other videos linked to from the site we may need to replace them.

Yeah, call the run "no speed glitches." It doesn't help that it took over a minute to get up to speed. At least BLJ happens quickly. I don't like TASes to do short repetitive actions for long periods of time. It's not entertaining.

Vids please. Especially once you really figure this out.

How are we going to deal with RPG characters? Do they only cause damage when in battle, but hit every time? What about sport game characters? That said, I think platformer characters will be at a disadvantage since they stay in the middle of the screen. Any character who spends most of their time going right will probably lose against the characters with more maneuverability. For example, if Mario were to go against the ship from Gradius, he would most likely lose horribly. That said, I think a character from an overhead game or a shooter would most likely do best. I'm going to cast my bet on the Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble.

I'm working on renaming the movies on the site so far so we can have at least something. I can't put them back on the site, since I don't have the privileges. I'm debating whether or not to rezip them all separately after I'm done. If I do, and the people in charge like the naming scheme, it would mean less work for whoever decides to put them back on the site. However, it would mean extra work if they decide to change the names around. After going through a few files, I agree with Warp that something need to be put in the category slot even if there isn't a category. It just looks better. I've settled on the word "any" which is short for "any percent." It has the added bonus of being short and towards the beginning of the alphabet, so most other categories come after it (unless they start with a number (On that note, whenever possible, I will choose the word "all" over 100 percent)). EDIT: Why are .fm2's so much larger than .fmv's? On a side note, I now hate people with names like max12187566.

When looking through the site, I found that there is a case where movie numbers don't quite indicate the obsoletion chain. Historical movies (those made before the site) often have higher movie numbers than the movies that obsolete them.

They seem to have come to the same conclusion as us. Version # should be two digits (e.g. 04, 15, 25). I don't think any movie on the site is even close to getting over 99 obsoletions.

I think the version number should be for the site, not the author. The reason for the version number from my understanding at least is to track obsoletions. If we do version number by author, this functionality disappears.

It wouldn't require resetting torrents at all. Torrents are video files. We're changing the names on input files.

Once we decide on the naming format, we can change it into a project. A group of people can each take a certain number of movies, rename them, then upload them somewhere to be sorted (such as dehacked microstorage, or we can upload our packs to file sharing sites).

so I think the order is heading toward: game name-special category (if applicable)-version number-author(s).file format

I voted Banjo Kazooie. That run was a pure ball of awesome and fun.

If it's not too much trouble for the people making the files, I like Warp's idea. This would make organization and tracking obsoletions easier for users.

Can we have a list of relevant movies from all the members?

I think the files have information for "added" and "last modified" both of which would be the time the file was added to your computer, or last modified on your computer, which includes moving the file from one folder to another. In other words, not information that would help in terms of dating the movies.

As mentioned in the movie's thread: Aria of Sorrow all souls. The only other movie I watched recently that I rated high was Banjo Kazooie. That's a maybe. It's incredibly entertaining, but it's also long.

Can we please make the standard naming format on input files game name first. It makes them much easier to find when I want to watch them.

But man does it show how dated the current warpless run is. This run is a little over fifteen seconds slower even though it's 100%. Do you think this movie can steal the star from COTM?

I got to watch it before Christmas too (since I'm watching it right now). Yes vote.
