Meh...I think excellent games are excellent games, no matter how many of them there are. But then again, it doesn't matter what I think.

Bad news (well actually, good news for me, bad news for the run)... I finally got my desktop computer which was broken for 6 months online again. That means that unfortunately online gaming has once again consumed my soul. So it looks like the run is going back on the shelf for a while...or at least until my motivation to do the run outweighs my desire to play UT 2004. *dodges tomatoes Matrix-style*

Never before has watching an autoscroller been so much fun. I don't know much about the improvements, but I honestly don't see any reason for voting no or meh.

Great run. The only problem I had with it was the use of the warp barrels. Yes vote from me.

'Villi People/Jim's Now A Blind Cave Salamander' and 'See Jim Run, Run Jim Run' Ah, now I feel so stupid for not knowing the second one. Good luck with "The Flying King." That level always bugged the hell out of me.

The music sucks in the Genesis version, though. And just for the info, which songs are the two Beethoven pieces in (I never listen to classical music, so I'm not familiar with them).

Yeah, it's not all that impressive when all you have to do is look up all the quiz answers on GameFAQs anyway. Ever since I got the ROM, I have run into those same sound problems Zer0 described. Very annoying, considering the level music for Lerenzo's Soil is one of the only few good ones in this game. Anyway, the run looked great. I liked the part where you barely got to the clock before time ran out, as well as how you handled the second boss. Can't wait to see what you do for ISO 9000 and Level Ate (my favorite levels). Also, was there any particular reason for tapping the fire button in Lorenzo's Soil instead of holding it down? Does it destroy the dirt faster?

Note: Read the edit for my post. Now it just plain won't open the files for FF VII or FF IX (both of which work perfectly fine on ePSXe), so I don't know what the hell to do. And yes, I did look it up, and both games were tested and supposedly worked.

The emulator doesn't work for me. Says I'm missing a DLL file. Edit: I'm a dumbass who can't read. Someone delete this.

There should be no such thing as "too many stars." If something deserves a star, regardless of how many there are, it should get one. It gives the newcomer more excellent games to watch. And on that note, this run should be starred immediately. I had no idea the kind of speed potential this game had. Now if I ever feel the need to see something go mind-boggling fast, I have this video.

Oh, believe me, I'm going to have my fun once this bastard of a scene is finished. The ninjas will fall quickly to the might of the car and Blaze's sword dash. I also have several ideas on how to make the Yamatos very fun to watch (and in this case, it's damn necessary to make it interesting, because the Yamatos have a combined 15 lifebars worth of health) and pretty fast at the same time. On a slightly off-topic note, did anyone notice that if you attack Yamato #3 when he's about to dash diagonally across the screen, a different lifebar shows up (which is way lower than his actual lifebar)? Is there any way to deplete that lifebar for a possible quick kill?

Yeah, it is. Guess I'll go try it again with read-only off. Also, it always started the movie paused. Any particular reason for this?

I listen almost exclusively to video game music (which is usually either techno, rock, or a combination of both). Some of my overall favorite game soundtracks are: Quake II (Sonic Mayhem did the music for this game) Final Fantasy VII Donkey Kong Country 2 Battletoads in Battlemaniacs Frogger: He's Back (PC) (little-known title, but the soundtrack is simply amazing) Everything else I like are individual songs from various games.

At the pace this is going at (I only have about 1/3 of the scene done), it could take me forever to complete Stage 4 Scene 1. It's been a while since I've posted an update, and I know how much people like to see updates on this site, so I'll just post what I have: http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=13532 Getting those Goldies and Jacks to cooperate like they did was hell on Earth, and some of the tactics I had to use were downright crazy. I'd like to get a second opinion on this, if possible.

What a coincidence. I mainly just rot in front of my computer, too. Of course, that's when college isn't keeping me busy. Damn Calc II at 8 in the morning...

Let's just say they're capable of a lot less. I personally enjoy watching Max brutally dominate everyone. His power is just sickening and highly amusing at times. Now that I think of it, it would be kind of boring to watch Grand Upper after Grand Upper (or infinite combos, for that matter). Maybe Blaze would be a good choice just for the variety of moves that she can do. It would be slower, but a lot less boring.

However, in this game, the screen scrolls really slow, and even Max can both fight and keep the screen scrolling.

Everyone in the world know what the NES is Knows. In my experience, English teachers not only don't appreciate humor, but they deduct points if the essay was actually written by a human being and not a mindless drone who's been indoctrinated to write essays in the same boring-ass format, using the same repetitive techniques every single time. In short: you're thinking outside the box, and that's almost never rewarded in a cookie-cutter mandatory English class. At least not in the English classes I've had, anyway.

It would be worth your time to see if the 2 player downward attack bug exists in this game. For those who are unfamiliar with this, in Streets of Rage 3, when you get more than one enemy in between both players and both of them use their downward attacks (or one of them uses a downward attack and the other just attacks), the number of hits scored multiplies and the damage is uber. It would also be worth your time to research if you can hit an enemy from both sides at the exact same frame and kill him/her instantly. I'd imagine Max + Axel would be the fastest. Blaze has no distinct edge over Axel as far as power is concerned, and Axel has Grand Upper. And Skate...well, he's just too weak.

I think it also depends on how much strategy is involved. People expect nothing but perfection with runs like SMB or other linear platformers where the objective is simple: go right. However, if you're talking about an RPG with insanely hard luck manipulation, several different paths to an objective, and very tough choices to make, like whether or not to get into a battle and steal weapon A from an enemy right now or just wait until you can buy it and possibly save time, a little leeway is almost expected. Essentially, how "hard" the run was (hard in quotations because that can be interpreted to include trail-and-error) helps determine if it's necessary to go back and improve a few things or be rejected.

That's exactly what I did, and I got a complete blank. Not even a bunch of weird input to tell me it was a desynch or something.

Is it just me, or does recording a movie simply not work on this emulator? I tried making a Final Fight movie and playing it back, and it never even got past the intro (which it should have if any buttons were pressed at all).

Well, the Goldies are a big pain in the ass. Even after I've manipulated their very stubborn AI to get between the two players, not only can they sometimes block my 2P downward attack, but they can easily avoid it, too. I eventually had to just use Blaze's directed special to knock them down at one point and try the 2P downward attack again because they were not cooperating at all. Also, all of the enemies are more aggressive, and are thus, harder to get in between Zan and Blaze. Not to mention there are just so many enemies in this scene. The car doesn't help much this time around, either. I'll just let some of the enemies get hit anyway to show off AI manipulation. Oh, and there's also a VERY annoying bug I discovered. If you grab two enemies, vault over them with one player (say Zan for this example), hit the enemies out of the grab with Blaze, then try and get Zan to jump, when Blaze starts getting hits, Zan will warp back to ground position instead of jumping for no apparent reason.
