Desynchs on Jax round 2. Looked pretty good, but a UMK3 run would be so much more entertaining...it's a damn shame that all it does is desynch.

This is basically identical to JXQ's run except for the bonus stages and the waiting at the end of some levels to make the score tally lower (which I did not like). Voting meh.

He was so young too... The guy was 44 years old, and that's pretty old for a death-defying croc-wrangler.

Roo is about as efficient as Skate is. In other words, not at all. Glad you guys liked the run up to this point.

I wouldn't know. I've never even played the game or have the ROM.

I'd have to say that it depends more on the individuals inside the community and not what happens outside the community.

Yeah, you'd think you would hear more about the Big Bang vs. creationism instead of evolution vs. creationism.

Workbench topics tend to garner more attention in a short time span than the topics on the respective game forum.

Also, this community is a little older and perfers retro-gaming. I see little interest in taking on newer systems. For example, as Mukki said, "only the surface of N64 has been scratched." Part of that is due to less than ideal re-recording technology and probably lack of interest. I have a feeling that as time goes on people in this community will slowly gain interest in "newer" games, just like there is a noticable interest in GBA games right now. This could be a very slow process, though...

Possibly, but with arcade rerecording a possibility, I don't think it'll be all that bad.

Do F5 and F8 only let you save one savestate at a time, or can you load slots using some other keys (I wouldn't know, I use Shift F5 and Shift F8 to individually name and load all my savestates).

This is why the debate never ends. No matter how much evidence you collect to support your ideas, someone can just say "God did it".

Looks good. I especially liked the shortcut before the second boss and the two lava stages as well. The only thing I can think of is in lava stage 1 at the beginning where you fall down the hole, you hug the wall. Would it be possible to gain extra momentum by backing up and holding right at the earliest possible frame that the wall wouldn't stop you?

I checked back and confirmed that the set of Mays on the first floor of stage 6 can be skipped by entering the door and leaving, so that would be a good shortcut for your next run.

On its own right, it's worth publishing since a one-player TAS of this game won't get a whole lot more varied than this. I'll look forward to a two-player run in the future, though.

That would be impossible because you can't grab Black once he's down to one lifebar of health.

Heh, it's so much more entertaining when you win by brute force.

Doesn't Mortal Kombat desynch heavily anyway?

That's what I thought too when I started to work on my Streets of Rage 3 two player run. As long as you use frame advance for the whole movie, it's really not as bad as some people make it out to be. Just requires a little coordination. The problem is that Final Fight 3 is a fairly easy game, even on Expert. So you might as well go for the appeal for those who like rediculous overkill and use two players. If you do decide to do so, I would recommend Haggar as player 2.

I would have to go back and check because I could be wrong, but on the first floor of the building, can't you avoid the set of Mays by opening the door and going back out? Also, does having two players give you more enemies and/or enemies with more health? If so, that would be a good reason to do a 2P run which would be more entertaining.

Of course not, but 37000 is a hell of a lot of rerecords for what seems like a pretty straightforward game. I also wonder if using a running attack at the edge of the screen on an enemy with a lot of HP instead of waiting for the enemy to come on screen and change directions is really the fastest way. Also, it seemed like you had a few good super opportunities on high-HP enemies that you didn't take.

This stuff's going to happen anyway regardless, and the steps necessary to partially prevent it are too desperate, and will only make the thieves try harder to hack our stuff.
