I'm having some difficulty getting lua scripts to work in JPC-rr. I've used scripts in Fceux before, but it doesn't seem to be working when I take the same commands over to JPC-rr. Are there any basic guides or someone who can provide basic pointers on lua scripting in JPC-rr? Specifically, I'm looking to enter keyboard and mouse commands, save and load states, and do memory inspection. Thanks in advance!

I have been waiting for the publication of this for two months now, and it was so worth the wait! What a great run full of all sorts of great tricks and goodies to see. Thanks for doing this!

Nicely done. Some of the levels go by so quickly it seems like they're finished before they're even drawn. Definite yes vote!

I guess then I have to wonder.... have you played the game before? I've played through and I have watched the speedrunning progression over the years, and it definitely helped to appreciate this TAS a lot more than if I was a casual viewer. No criticism intended, just genuinely curious.
Nope, and you're right I probably would have appreciated it much more if I had played the game. From an outsider's perspective, it's mostly just running and collecting things with a little bit of dodging here and there. It's hard to say this run is entertaining, especially when compared to something like Resident Evil 4's TAS.

Thank you for putting up a doorless encode. It made it watchable. It's a good run and seems quite optimized. Still, from an entertainment standpoint I have to give it a 'Meh'. In other words, great for vault.

Interesting enough for a yes vote. I'd love to see the best ending!

Aims for maximum score is quite clear and non-controversial goal, so i think that it should be legitimate goal no matter is it for Moon or for Vault.
"Aims for maximum score" might drastically change the TAS strategy, aiming for better bonuses, or drawing a level out in order to get a higher in-level score. IMO, it wouldn't be as entertaining either. Also, ninja'ed. :)

Great run, yes vote!

I would have thought this would have deliberately beaten the WR of 781,030 points set back in the 80's. Very disappointed it fails to beat an existing record.
I can see your point, however if I was TASing this, I'd just go for fastest time, in case it didn't get Moons. Catching the cash would disqualify it for Vault if I understand the rules correctly.

What was good has been improved! My vote is for moons, but I respect the decision of the judge. I still love Bobo's suggestion for the publication text:

Devoid of anything else, the game's horror is the protagonist's wanton destruction of the house.

Hi, DJ Incendration and welcome to TASVideos! I can tell your heart's in the right place when making this, however unfortunately you ended up picking a goal that's unlikely to be accepted. It is very rare that a non-full run TAS is published on this site. But I hope you look at this as a good learning exercise towards your next TAS! I also encourage you to post your work-in-progress to the forums, where you can get great suggestions and input to help make your TAS shine, and dramatically increase your chances of getting it published. Looking forward to seeing a TAS from you in the future!

Absolute yes vote! I agree, the deaths aren't very interesting at all. However, watching the ending with all Terras and then a bunch of random Celes's more than made up for it. I also really liked the walk around Narshe when she's not supposed to be there. I'm really curious what the other villagers say, and what crazy sequence-break things you can do from there.

Before I can vote, I'd like to know exactly what happened here. EDIT: I get it now... Baa baa, don't I feel sheepish.

I'm sure this is a very impressive feat, given how little danger Leon gets into, but after the first eight minutes, I'm having trouble staying interested. Here's a summary of the TAS, as far as I can tell: Run, run, run, run, door................................................... run, run, run, door................................................... run, run, run, run, run, run, run, door................................................... I won't vote because I haven't watched it all, but from what I did watch, it'd get a 'Meh' from me for entertainment.

Ha ha! Nice. :) After all that, you only get 'Good'. What does it take to get 'Great' or 'Excellent', I wonder.

Judging from his posts on YouTube, it seems he wants to try and improve his record first before submitting here... or something like that.
He says that it was never his intention to have this be a WR TAS, and he was just using the tool to help inform strategies for a RTA. He doesn't consider himself a TASser and feels that Meerkov can probably squeeze some more frames out of it.

My question is, why isn't DonkeyKongGenius's TAS on TASVideos? I mean, why make a TAS and not bring it here?
