Audio desynchronization can occur when the emulator's sound sampling rate and the output audio rate (or the rate the encoded chooses; I can't remember) differ. This was prevalent on my SNES encodes because the DEFAULT sampling rate for the emulator was 32KHz and the rate on the audio track in the movies were 44.1KHz or 48KHz.

The AVI has been fixed, and the torrent file is updated. Please download the new one. Now Phil can get off my back about it. ;)

Yes, it's supposed to obsolete the other video. However, I made a mistake while publishing. I have to wait for Bisqwit to fix it.

I had the same problem with the previous video (using VLC). Does the same thing happen in this video?

Any WIP VBMs for that?

Rice's plugin doesn't emulate any of the framebuffer effects correctly (background on menus goes black instead of blur, and motion blur seems to be missing); I'll see if glide64 makes any difference.

This helped for me. Anyone else wanna confirm? EDIT: I also tested it using the Hacktarux wrapper linked above, and it seems to work ok.

Unless someone higher-up protests, I will make available a fixed AVI via HTTP. Note, however, that this will prevent you from seeding the AVI as the torrent will try to "correct" the byte.

From what I've read, the movie should end as soon as possible, i.e. when you deliver the last hit. In Mitsume Ga Tooru, it ends right when the player hops on the arrow thingy. Even though there's one more guy to defeat, the player doesn't have to do anything else in order to defeat him.

Last Action Hero (SNES): The second level in the game is impossible for me to beat because of the time limit and the hit detection is bad.
Wouldn't that actually make it a good candidate for TASing, or is it just ones only you wouldn't do?

Encoded and waiting for approval. I didn't fuck up like I did with Bayou Billy this time. Honest.

Following DeHackEd's example, I started writing a PowerShell script to help automate the encoding process. After some time, I made v1 which is a jumbled, barely-working mess, however it works well enough for me: http://ccfreak2k.loliserv.org/nesencodingv1.zip The script is under the BSD license It's written in PowerShell (as said earlier), so you'll need to have that installed to use it (if you intend to). Just drop the script, along with mencoder.exe and the config file, in some directory, edit the config file to your needs, then run the script. After a while, the video will be done encoding. mencoder.exe will drop its standard output to the console. In addition, headers will fly by before each step, the window title bar will also print the step, and it will stop and tell you which step had an error with which error code. Missing but potentially useful features: *The ability to arbitrarily pick which step(s) to run. Like I said, the script works well enough for my needs. I'm just sharing it in case someone else might find it useful. However, I spent a great deal of time and effort building debug information into the script to help diagnose errors. If you encounter any PowerShell interpreter problems (red text), be sure to tell me about it.

I will never forgive you if you use Windows Movie Maker. It's ok if you're making a home video, but knowledgeable users know better software!

Yeah, change it from 02 to 01. Winamp and Windows Media Player both suffered from the same problem on my machine: the video played way too fast.

Which players are you using? This and Bucky O'Hare suffer from the same symptoms on different players. EDIT: I found the problem. The audio was encoded with joint stereo instead of mono (why I didn't catch this before, I don't know). Pending approval from the appropriate person/people, I can upload the fixed version. EDIT 2: It turns out you just have to change ONE BYTE in the file to fix it: change the byte at offset 0x12A from 01 to 02.

Since I want to officially start encoding videos, one of the things I have to come up with is a logo. After some thinking and testing and booing/jeering from IRC, here's what I have so far: http://ccfreak2k.loliserv.org/images/taslogo5.png http://loliserv.org/~ccfreak2k/images/taslogo5.png (Alternate link) To answer some questions: * Why is it so big? Only N64 videos are that large! (Alternately: Why isn't it [some arbitrary size of some console]?) Because I can size it down to whatever size I need. Yes, I know N64 can be encoded larger. No, I'm probably not going to encode N64 videos yet. * Everyone else uses fancy animated logos! Why is yours so boring and static and...boring? Because I'm not as bright as them/haven't had as much time to make an animated one yet.
