Alright, I made it past the Eastern Palace. I'm ready for your ideas on what route I should take.

This totally slipped through me. You say you're 100 frames behind, did you get the heart container at the end of the basement, or do you plan to get that later on?
It was probably more like 80. And it's only the frames I lost by not having the boomerang. It doesn't include the heart container, which I happened to get.

It's exactly the same since you only move 71% the speed of a wobble although you travel 71% the distance. Omni, I slashed the rat to the right. Yeah I miscalculated how many frames I lost so you were right Erokky. I think it was closer to 80.

Thanks for the info. I'll put it into use. I'll only need 100 more rupees than you to get 1 of the bottles, right? Also in the room where I slashed the rat, I lossed about 50 frames. Unless there is a something I'm unaware of, I believe I timed that room to virtual frame perfection. I manipulated the rat to move towards me.

Great job! But man, 40,000 re-records for 10 minutes? At that rate you'll break the 300,000 mark easily. I just hope you don't give up again if you miss other things. Because I really want to see an improvement over the published run. So far I'm a couple of rooms into the Eastern Palace. I estimated that i lost over 100 frames by not having the boomerang so far. I'm not including the time it would've taken getting it from the chest. If so, I'd still be ahead from not getting it, but not by much.

Oh, I didn't realize this would fall under the emulator topics. I'll go ahead and check it out.

I'd love to do a TAS one of the Age games, particularly Age of Mythology. The game already records a full movie when you play a Random Map, so perhaps the idea doesn't sound too far fetched.

It's about time someone decided to do a 100% run for a Zelda Game. I was hoping the first would be for this game though, because it is basically the first Zelda Game I ever owned, and beat. :3 Dreams do come true! xD Hopefully more 100% runs for the series will follow. ^^ I wish you luck!
Yeah I'm putting a lot of effort in this, and with Erokky's help I think you'll be pleased with the result. Unfortunately, quality takes time and it may take me over 6 months to complete.

Ok, so there's no way to get it until I at least have the hammer. I'll go ahead and see if it's quicker to get the cape early.

@MadZombie/100% TASer In a 100% console run, are you going to perform the "warp" glitch so you can get that cloak device/cape early?
If it turns out that the route of the warp glitch is quicker than the route using the pegasus boots, than I'll be doing that. But please ellaborate. Do I have to be in the grave yard to perform that glitch? If so than it's probbly better to wait.

I was thinking, it would probably be quicker to steal the shovel also and let the shop keeper kill you. You start right back at the shop, and you don't have to waste time gathering 200 rupees.

Is your route going to be any where similar to one the one on Speed Demos Archive? Because mine will be quite different since I will be using save+quits quite a bit. And I will also be using the levitation glitch. Also note that I skipped the blue boomerang to get the red one later on in the Village of Outcasts.

Sure thing, but it may take weeks before I make it that far since watching Flag's and your WIP has caused me to raise my standards quite a bit.

As far as I know it's not necessary to put it on.
It seems your right. I figured it would be the same as snes9x.

1.0 should work. Do you have version 19 of VBA-rerecording? Also are you making sure that Left+Right / Up+Down is enabled?

Hmm. I'm guessing you only had one save state. I always make it a habit of using all 10 slots just case something like that happens. It's also a good idea to periodically make a backup as you progress through the game.

Nope, I only determined how long it took Flag to get the other items. But I wish I did. Now I have to undo several days of work. I'm just going to get to Zelda and copy paste what I got so far and then fix all the parts where it desyncs.

I had to back track. It turns out that I can't get the red boomerang from the fat fairy. So I'm getting it from the Village of Outcasts. It's a good thing I tried it out before I got too far into the game.

So that only works when you use the leaf shield? If the invincibity lasts throughout the whole game then perhaps the theoretic perfect game must begin with Wood Man's level.

You could beat Needle Man 2 hits? Well I tried hitting him at several angles. And each did the same damage. And he also has 30 frames of invincibility after each hit. Is there actually a way to do twice as much damage per hit?

Yeah I know. What did you think I thought it meant? Edit: Nevermind, it dawned on me how one could misunderstand my post. You see he actually posted that he finished Dustman's level.

That's some very practical info on the drop sequences. I'm going to definately put it to use. So I'll go ahead and skip that rat. While I'm at it I'm going to wobble diagonally up the steps in the Throne room. Never thought it would save that many frames.
