I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure if it's possible to manipulate 2 pegasus seeds in a row but I'll give it a shot. And yes it's possible to pit glitch when using the seeds. Edit: So what do you estimate the final time of my run will be? Just factor in pit walking, save+reseting and a lot better manipulation and precision than Ego Buff's run. I need a more accurate % for my signature.

That's a very neat site. Those maps are crystal clear. As for the pegasus seed route, go ahead and plan out the rest but take your time. I'm going to need all the info I can get. If I do get to a part where I feel that I'll need to examine the route, I'll just work on my other run while I wait for you to finish. Edit: just checked your plan where to get the seeds and it seems optimal

I'm just past Subrosia and about to use the rod for the first time. I'm not 100% sure, but is it not possible to manipulate it to be winter outside the village? Anyway, I shall post a WIP at the beginning of level 2. I was watching Ego Buff's run in this level, and I think the fun will start here. There's so many different tricks that could be exploited in this dungeon.

Shinryuu, I'm extremely impressed. You managed to improve this already tightly optimized run by a whole 7 seconds. And without the aid of Bisqbot. A yes vote of course.

Nach, I figured out how luck manipulation works in this game, so I want to try to batter it much as I can. I've been doing some experimenting with the Leaf Shield. I was able to die with it activated, and the extra bars appeared on the left side but I wasn't invincible. I also couldn't teleport up any ladders no matter where I took the damage. Could you give more detail on how they're done? In the mean time I'll be working on Seasons.

This is my new favorite run. Very, very optimized, and very, very entertaining at the same time. This gets every bit of a yes vote from me.

Neat trick with the Magnet Glove. I think thats a glitch, since I couldn't do it in real time.

I have no hotmail account. I guess I could make one. I haven't made it too much further since I've been working on my other run a bit. I'm just past that boring hiding game. It seems there are 2 different paths the Subrosian can be manipulated to take in each screen depending on how many times you slash before going to the next screen. There is a way to do this in real time. Just memorize how many times to slash for her to take the quicker path. Vespa happened to lose over 450 frames at that part.

Sounds good to me. I'll go ahead and keep that trick with Ricky in mind.

So how far do you want me to make it before showing you another WIP?

Yes, optimizing the movement bonuses in Seasons shall be fun and challenging at the same time. As for deep swimming in Ages, it seems best to press the arrow key of desired direction for 5 or 6 frames then let go for 1 frame and then do it again. I haven't tested letting go for more than 1 frame though.

I was able to get everything else after that part exactly the same, though I had to insert frames here and there to fix all the desyncs. So there were no other improvements.

Very nicely done. This was by far the hardest GB Megaman for me to beat back in my teenage days. Seeing it so easily conquered gives me much satisfaction. A hearty yes.

In the room before the key, I went around the bottom instead of just walking diagonally and crossing over the pit. For some reason I was originally convinced that pit walking is so slow that I should avoid it as much as possible. It turns out that its not as slow as I thought.

Vespa spotted quite a noticeable error in my WIP. It goes all the way back in the Hero's Cave. Fortunately, I was able to fix it without too many desyncs. Now I'm 20 frames ahead.

Very entertaining run. Matching the inputs to the beat of the songs is quite original. It's too bad those who only watch the AVIs won't be able to see it. A yes vote from me. And I think it deserves a perfect 10 rating.

Are you talking about the warp glitch run? It seemed pretty optimized to me. Where can it be improved?

Hmm, it doesn't seem possible to manipulate bombs from any of the bushes outside level 2. 2 of them always drop ember seeds. The other 3 seem to only drop rupees, hearts, fairies and seeds. I noticed in your run that you got a bomb drop from one the moblins without any waste of time. I'm going to go ahead and try that.

I have a question: How do you manipulate item drops and enemy behaviour? I have figured out how to manipulate enemy location (it's decided on the frame you enter the room), but the other two baffle me...
Enemy location is not always decided on the frame you enter the room. If there are no enemies in the previous room, you could wait a thousand frames and it will still be exactly the same when you enter the next room. Here are all the things I discovered about enemy manipulation in Seasons, and it's most likely the same way in Ages. The only time delaying frames works, is if you delay them in the same area where there is an enemy setup, then the next enemy setup will change. Also the number of times you slash the sword before you get to the room with enemies changes the enemy setup. Slashing and hitting enemies also gives a different setup than just slashing. Enemy behavior can be manipulated in the same room, they do different things depending on how many times you slash your sword, and also where you walk. You have to experiment. Item drops are also determined by how many times you slash. Delaying frames before killing enemies also works in getting the desired drops, but you usually have to delay a lot. Another thing I noticed about the item drops in Seasons is in order to get a 5 rupee drop, you have to make the last enemy drop an item, be it a heart or 1 rupee.

Unfortunately, yes. But 1-2 seconds is better than nothing, and its a lot easier than manipulating the octorok.

I was doing some testing in this game and found that it's possible to walk over holes when going down. You could only go a distance of one hole though. How it's done is you have to line yourself exactly in the middle of 2 holes. And test which frame to start walking. It only works on certain frames for some reason. Start walking down. Don't press left or right while on the hole. Just keep pressing down. If you started walking on the right frame you should make it across.

It looks good. I noticed you shot a couple of Hammer Joes in Wily's level. Was it faster then just sliding into them?

I was thinking the same about whether or not I should. It's too bad this game doesn't force you to get containers like Link's Awakening does, ha ha. I'm going to have to comb through the whole game to see all the places where taking more than 3 hearts of damage would save time. If time saved adds up to more than the time it takes to get it from level 3 then I'll go ahead and get it.

I'm done level 1. I found a way to beat the miniboss a couple of frames faster by using a bomb. I just hope those 2 frames were worth wasting 1 bomb. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2751/level1cleared.vbm
