It's a good thing that Mario did not warp to the Pokemon Hall of Fame at the end of the run. Yes vote for the game breaking.

There are few votes cast for such a popular game. I guess it is a bit hard to watch a lengthy run. I admit it was a bit boring, but that is the game's fault. I cast my yes vote for the improvement (and it only cost me 1 MP :D ) It would be interesting to see how long an abridged video would be where the battles that were run from (Sir Robin!) were cut out.

I agree with that. I have noticed what seems to be troll voters lately. Anyways, yes vote for any size of improvement of a super optimized run.

I appreciate the difficulty it takes to optimize this. Thanks to that last improvement, I decided to try moving the waiting to the simulation after Marahna Act 2 since it would fit. I had to insert an extra waiting frame in order to make it sync up before the boss, and so it waits the maximum possible between acts. The boss battle appeared to be unaffected, and I managed to save 6 frames comparing from the beginning of the Northwall sim, adjusting for the difference of the construction counter (this is different from the comparison of the crystalization due to random lag). I don't know if the RNG of the boss is affected which could possibly lead to a faster pattern. So if you feel like checking, that is okay because I am almost done testing the simulation. Here is the WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1825663860/ActRaiser_%28U%29_Zidanax_and_Dunnius_v2_Northwall_Act_1_Done_Sim_Waiting.smv Happy New Year!

6F in hexadecimal is 111 in decimal, which is really cool! So throwing away 68 of those totals 7548, which means that TM8 TM8 nROCKET8 8 V 8 i z t 1 d 1 error. Yes vote from me. (who voted no)

No vote. This run is just as boring as the show with way too much waiting.

It is possible to save most of the lost frames by waiting in the simulation instead of the action. However, this is somewhat difficult because you will have to do some waiting before Marahna Act 2 as well as between acts (which is limited to 8 frames due to a message coming up). I am currently researching the Northwall simulation, so there is no hurry. Also, I noticed that you didn't jump into the entryway to the boss chamber in both acts. I am not sure if it would be faster to do so. And at the end of Northwall Act 1's boss, I am not sure if it is faster to end out of the water being that it is just barely higher up. Minor edit: I changed the number of frames between acts to the actual number.

Here is the completed Marahna sim: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/476765389/ActRaiser_%28U%29_Zidanax_and_Dunnius_v2_Marahna_Sim_Done.smv I ended up saving 356 frames with the revised path and random lag reduction. It was a real pain to remove the random lag frames. There is a total of 2597 frames saved over the previous WIP so far. Zidanax, if need to do luck manipulation, you can wait the necessary frames in the sim.

Throwing away his master balls? I didn't realize becoming a eunuch was necessary to become a pokemon master. Now that sounds painful! Anyways "Yes" vote for the big improvement.

My initial impression was "Yes", but after reading the comments, I voted "Meh". It was very impressive, but it was repetitive. I agree with others that a better run would instead be a "playaround" lasting about half the time of this run. That also allows playing in EVERY level. Another added benefit of allowing points is that stomping enemies would be allowed, which would add entertainment value. I still think avoiding the visible coins could still be done as it is entertaining in itself.

I'm just about done researching the Marahna sim. I decided to test PJ's shortcut, and it appears that it will save about 200 frames, though it can be more if the statue thing can be manipulated to shoot to the right the first time. This also includes an improvement I found by accident. At the top, jumping instead of walking to the right saves over a second. Also, I am not certain, but I think the x position off screen may change the fadeout timing.

That is awesome! If it saves time (I think it will) then go ahead and redo Act 1, Zidanax. I am still testing routes in the simulation. The best route I found so far will definitely save over 300 frames. Sealing the east lair last ended up saving frames, and it made the last construction phase faster by 162 frames! I also found a faster route at the beginning which saved around 45 frames. It involves sealing the central lair one cycle later.

Here is the Aitos sim completed. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1326075451/ActRaiser_%28U%29_Zidanax_and_Dunnius_v2_Aitos_Sim_Done.smv For the 2 simulation sections, a total of 328 frames saved with the new path.

Here is part 1 of the Aitos simulation; ready for Act 2. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/623920915/ActRaiser_%28U%29_Zidanax_and_Dunnius_v2_Aitos_Sim_Part1_Done.smv The path that I found will end up saving over 300 frames. One of the main improvements is that I skipped the message about the volcano erupting by changing the order that the monsters' lairs are sealed. When the last lair is one that contains an item, it skips the message telling you to do Act 2. Bloodpool and Kasandora already did that, but Fillmore and Northwall are not able to do that because of the bridges. It might save frames in Marahna. To manipulate luck in Act 2, this time subtract frames from the simulation. I ended the sim one frame before a lag frame caused by the laggy volcano eruption. Also, make sure to test if getting that extra magic scroll is faster. Take your time. I have lots of testing to do in Marahna, so don't feel rushed.

If everybody would just give up and not fight for what is right, black people would still be in the back of the bus and homosexuals would be killed on the street. Nuff said.
I don't know about your sanity, but you are hilarious with that funny typo. You have a signature worthy quote.

Voted yes, naturally. I also vote for screenshot 1 where Link is dead in front of Sheik. That made me laugh. But I also like screenshots 2, 4, 7, and also the ones with the Link bomb-face while using the ocarina. (I can't believe someone voted no)

You did a good job FunStyle. I am glad to see that someone is working on F-Zero. I voted no because I would rather have a full run. But don't be discouraged by that, or that a full run will take a long time. Many TAses take a really long time; I have been working on one that will soon be 2 years, and I know of others that have or are taking a long time. Those runs usually end up well received and are well worth the effort.

I agree with Warp about the warpless run. :D It also might be interesting to make it pipeless (except at the beginning of the underground levels), vineless, and powerup-less. I must also add that Some Pickles did a good job TASing this.

Ok, the game is now so broken that there is no way it represents Yellow anymore except for the title screen. Recommended screen shot Ash's Pokedex Rating. It's so good, it says "error."
It also says "rocket" though the "t" is on the next line. So Ash is really a member of team rocket, who cheat their way to fame. Yes vote despite not having the "Go! 99999999999" message. So Ash wakes up ready to begin being a Pokemon trainer. As he walks out of his room into some strange dimension, Professor Oak is there and says, "Due to a computer error, you are now the Pokemon champion. Congratulations."

Adding to klmz's post, another con (and the main one for me) is the sped up music. It makes it sound like the timer is always below 100, which is annoying. This should not replace the (U), but I am not opposed to it being published.

Comparing at the beginning of the Aitos simulation, and adjusting for the construction difference, 1441 frames saved now compared to our old run.

Wow, that was quick. I noticed that you used some frames in Act 2 to manipulate luck. Have you tried waiting in the simulation so that no frames are lost? I did a test using the similar idea of not building on the final lair in Aitos and I managed to save 90 frames so far.

I finally finished the Kasandora simulation, saving 193 frames, comparing from level up to level up which will be explained later. It took a really long time to find the quickest path. My initial idea saved 163 frames, but then I had an idea to do an extra rain, which ended up saving an additional 30 frames, surprisingly. Since there are many places to do an extra rain, it resulted in a massive amount of testing. Cycle 1 took a really long time and was very frustrating. I can't believe how lucky I was last time with the monsters being in a good position. Even so, it was difficult then to get 24 souls. This is the most difficult part of the run. I had to luck manipulate the monsters a bit, which resulted in a little bit of research. It seems that one of the factors that modifies the RNG is the frame that a monster was hit. It seems that button presses do not affect the RNG. I need to do more research to verify that. For the other cycles, I hex edited in the pieces from the old run wherever they fit, so most of the old run is there. It was a little difficult because the blue dragon was uncooperative. The reason I am doing the frame comparison that way is that I am waiting for the road over the blue dragon's lair to be built. The waiting does not cost any frames because the construction counter is going. This means that cycle 1 of Aitos will happen 24 frames earlier, which will cancel out the waiting. I don't need all 720 frames in cycle 1, unlike Kasandora. The waiting temporarily changes the frame comparison. To do a comparison, subtract the construction counter from the frame count. The delay is also good for doing luck manipulation of Kasandora Act 2 (and Aitos Act 1, though I believe none is needed). Zidanax can delay leaving Kasandora further, and this time the luck manipulation will not cost any frames. I moved the angel to a spot where no movement is needed for a little bit, so there is no need to move the angel unless the wait is really long. Here is the link to the WIP. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1340563838/ActRaiser_%28U%29_Zidanax_and_Dunnius_v2_Kasandora_Sim_Done.smv
