youtube videos: part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 Note: The first part is older and was encoded with a movie file, that contained 2 mistakes: missing use of the chip glitch and a vine skip. Sound and video are also slightly out of synch, which makes dance scenes during the sphinx and glitch fight look bad. Sorry for the bad quality.

Looks like a cool game with nice graphics, sound and possibly story (I could not follow it, except that there is a powerful sword everybody is looking for ^^). The run lasted nearly too long for me, but luckily the text can be scrolled fast enough. Very enjoyable watch, good job.

That was great. The shortcuts, glitches and new approach to the final boss gave the run exactly what it needed. PS: a little late, but congrats for having the most published movies edit: my bad, i should read more carefully. sorry Aqfaq and adelikat

Good improvement. I especially like the submission text. It is very interesting to read, how the history of super puch out evolved record and tas wise. Thanks for the work of writing it down.

Woa, I'm wondering how you found that glitch. Good job Aqfaq.
The only difference is a few pixels of more nudity in the end with REV00.
That was close. I nearly used the wrong ROM version ^^

It is funny, how in every version mario seems to be less affected by the stomping column in Iggy Koopa's castle. In the next version, I expect it to be destroyed with a spin jump ;) The bowser fight was indeed quite entertaining. Nice improvements, good job guys.

Such annoying dumb seals! ^^ Great improvement and nice team work. Special congratulations go to Carretero for finding so many new glitches and his previous run, which initiated that team project.

Thanks for redoing it Dark Cloud. I already liked the previous version and this one looks even better. I sure enjoyed watching it, but am the wrong one to judge it technical wise (though looks optimised to me). I still think it should not obsolete the currently published run, but open a third (thanks Sir VG ^^) category. Good job

I'm with mmbossman here. Very entertaining run and good finds. Teaming up for the new version sounds like a good idea.

Very nice find and well executed, Dark Cloud. I second the idea, that it should not obsolete the currently published run (rather allow a second category). You should maybe explain the glitch and how it works seperately, rather then mentioning it in a subordinate clause in the stage comments ;)

Looking only at single tases, nitsuja's run was probably the most enjoyable one. However, Upthorn not just created several astonishing tases of the same quality, he also put a lot of work into gens making it a very advanced tasing tool (my favourite emulator to work with). He is Mr. genesis 2007, period.

That's a neat little trick, that I liked performing towards the end of my program, that I do for birthday parties of good friends. It upsets me however, that firstly, while I had to pay money to learn it, this trick is revealed on many youtube videos for free. Secondly, they are only revealed, but not explained, which means that however tries to redo it most likely messes it up, revealing it to even more people. And lastly it’s a loss for my friends, who I can't perform it for.

Ok, thanks for your opinions. I don't want a guaranteed yes vote, but only prevent the case, that everybody on the workbench tells me later, the game was never tas material in the first place. Despite being an easier game to tas, I won't be fast, as I have to catch up stuff, that I was too lazy to do in the holidays :) (Currently 3rd boss beaten)

Garfield: caught in the act is a new (1995) and colourful game starring a well known character. But now, that I'm half way through, doubts arise, that its speed and level layout make it unsuited for a tas. It would be nice, if I get some opinions about it. Thanks in advance. youtube video

Thanks for the map, but during the course of tasing the game, Nifboy already created a map available in the thread (where you better have posted first ;) ) or the game resources. Currently there are 2 runs worth mentioning: Truncated's published run using the 100k trick and a no warp run, which is in the thread, but I somehow can't find it. I don't remember exactly, except that Nifboy, Truncated and maybe Josh where somehow involved. I recommend watching it (I've seen it a dozen times already). I think there is no warpless run published as some goals tend to be a little bit arbitrary (least teleports, "main path", most flags,...). Also the only tasers that have the required knowledge, Truncated and Nifboy, seem not to be available so soon, as Nifboy hasn't tased for a while and Truncated has even difficulties to find the time to improve his run as he promised (*hintyhint* ;) ). So unless we get green light for publishing a second run of this game, a reasonable goal and a taser, you have to settle with the mentioned movie. ^^

Wiz n Liz would be nice to watch, as long as the run does not last too long (30 minutes of bunny collecting gets boring). Mega Bomberman might not be as interesting compared to the SNES runs (no invincibility at the beginning). I somehow don't like Shadow of the Beast (I wanna jump off/on ladders ^^). However, Exilant made a tas at speedruns.net, in case you want to see one. It is with the slightly easier Japanese rom, though. Still, a reason to tas it, is that according to wikipedia, the genesis port is very hard, only beaten by a few players.

Good finds Flip! You should maybe mention somewhere, that your version is nearly 30 seconds faster, than the currently published version ;) The most noticable improvements, where in the first level and the input end. Great run. (still don't like the game though)

What an amazing run! Originally, I wanted to point out the best things, but there were simply too many things to remember :) I'm also glad that you keep on tasing. You contribute both, good runs and tricks to this community, which leads to great runs like this one.

Battle Tanx: Global Assault the successor of Battletanx, is a game that I played some years ago due to the possibility of a coop-mode. While the gameplay and story are rather primitive, it has some nice aspects that can be useful in a tas: -speed (collecting missions with the moto tank) -accuracy (analog support, aiming over long distances) -destruction and mayhem (destruction missions, nuke) ;) At the time that I started a run, speedruns.net announced a N64 competition. Considering that I might submit it there I had to take some minor mistakes into account. The longer I tased, the more it desynched, which finally made me give up as it couldn't be finished in December. So I thought, I might put my work here, in case someone wants to work on a run of one of these games and needs some ideas. I used the (E) version! It seems, that the (U) rom is not emulated. moviefile youtube videos: part1 part2 However, I start to doubt, that a run of this game is enjoyable to watch for people who didn’t play the game, as they might not understand some missions.

Noticeably less backtracking and no screen shaking. Good improvement. I know, it can be looked up in a gamefaq, but it might be a little easier to watch, if you could give just a short summary what has to be done for each ticket part.

I'll never get tired of watching your runs. I especially like the comeback parts, where you keep a cool head scratching at the top of the screen.

Wow, I didn't know that this is possible in that game, too, but it actually works (losing all lifes skips to the next level). However, the first test I did now (simply falling into the goo) was approximately 500 frames slower. Still I'll do some more tests, as it seems quite considerable. In any case good find, N. Harmonik.

I acutally played this imo hard game before (I think, I know it from comicalflop or playing random games for genesis) and died so fast, that I was surprised to see now how the ladders work :) The game choice itself was not the best, but I blame the genesis game repertory (I'm trying to find good games to tas, but it is way more difficult than for SNES). The music was weird from time to time and the game play seems to focus merely on placing objects in the path in a way, that you'd have to stop every second but -the run was made with very much precision, obviously with a lot of painful health management. -the game offers some needed variety with different ways of movement, views and weaponry - I really recommend reading the submission text while watching the run. It was a lot funnier that way and I actually never fast forwarded (except for these stupid transitions). Good job, JXQ
