I actually tested moving NE on odd frames and NW on even frames and its exactly the same as moving North. I guess this could be used for entertainment. basically north, south, east, west are 18 speed and the other directions are 24 speed or something if you add your x and y velocity together. Depends on the analog angle. Changing the camera does not change the maps cardinal directions.

I checked for random value ram addresses and could not find any. Moving diagonally is faster than moving straight. The problem is it doesn't matter what angle the camera is at. So this doesn't help me go any faster. Jumping onto the box stack is possible.

The SDA run is already basically a TAS: http://speeddemosarchive.com/Diablo.html Beats the game in 3 minutes. Duping is impossible in the psx version as well. 2-player co-op is the only way I can see this getting any attention.

The difference between "damage taken" and "no damage" isn't significant enough to require two separate runs. These improvements should be implemented into the "damage taken" run.

Well that's as close as I can get to the tail... Earth dragon dead. I'm at around 30minutes playtime. Compared to 42minutes.

Ogre is dead Encode Yeah I know it's been a month. The duane fight is why I quit last time. I went with the best result. Pretty terrible. In any case I wanted to burn through some of the game. I've found new things to implement as I've played. Why waste 8 hours avoiding a single enemy this early into the process? I want to get a run done. Should be 80 minutes tops. I'm past 1/4 now. Raging ache seems to work well. Magnolia Frau seems to be the right choice as well. Impact guard is probably required for TAS. I don't think ward is needed. I probably won't do more until I get feedback. ok bye

Wyvern is dead. 15chain. Raging ache, heavy shot, ward, impact guard, magnolia frau are equipped. So what happens when your arm turns red? Reduced damage? Without using any impact guard my arm is orange right now. Although I think I will need to use it soon. It heals body parts as well. The game has a large quick manual in it I found. The only color that has an effect on combat is red. and it decreases damage by 50%.

This is the correct image showing the dual shock is recognized. natt is troubleshooting with me. The emulator hangs a few seconds after this screen disappears. This happens on the PAL demo disc as well as NTSC-U.

So I'm starting real work on this. 0007B5FC: Random Encounter When this hits 0, you will enter a random encounter. It decreases by 42 each time you cross invisible grid lines in the world. If you cross the line by 1 pixel you can go back and forth and get into a random battle in a few frames. (If the world map didn't run at 20 fps) Or run around inside a grid square without touching the edges and never have an encounter. When you enter a battle the value changes to 600-1400. This is your new starting value when the battle is over. Entering town will increase this to 700-1000, but only if you are already below 480. This can be manipulated easily. Enemy health: 000ED3D6: Always first enemy 000ED6AA: Always 2nd 000ED97E: 3rd 000EDC52: 4th 0008480E: Vahn HP 00084812: Vahn MP Tetsu has 999 health and this resets to over 1000 if you bring him below 768. Position: 000830E8: X Location World Map 000830EC: Y Location World Map 000837A8: X Location Field 000837B4: Y Location Field As far as strategies go... Yeah any help is appreciated. Nighto on Viguro x2 and Berserker for sure. Should be able to manip instant death even with level 1. I haven't found any way to manipulate in battle except for waiting frames. Field runs at 30fps except when its running at 15fps. World map is 20fps. World map map is 12fps. Every camera angle change switches the frame input is accepted on. every odd frame at 30 fps would now be every even frame. But the lag counter doesn't increase by 1. tetsu is done. Skipping 10000 frames of dialog atm. ok bye. 2/12 My first real battle is much faster... because I ran from it. I don't know why I didn't do this before. Contemplating getting gimard fire magic. It will take an unnecessary battle to get. I'll skip it for now... 2/13 Working on cracking that RNG again. 000D0394 may be your speed address. Normal running is (counting render frames) 0,0,10,20,20,23,23,26,27,28,29,31,33,33,37,37,39,40,43,44,46,53,54,59,60,61 Speed can be off by 1-4 based on what area you are in and character/camera position. Single frame jumping while running(much faster than holding jump): 0, 175, 149, 83 (5x), 86, 89, 93, 97, 101, 105, 109 114, 117, 121, 125, 129, 133, 0, 72, 66 (5x) You can jump every 58 frames You can jump 2 frames after moving to increase speed from 0 to 175 immediately. Gliding speed is 50-52 Walking is 18-22 ANYWAY. Based on these numbers jumping seems to be the fastest form of acceleration/movement by far. Time at cutscene 2
