the run was nice, but I think there is no need to restrict the character choice.

No I meant I will do it myself, just whether it is an efficient way or is there an easier way. You have done a lot already thanks.

I appreciate the script, was planning on looking at the fighting game hitbox one to try to figure it out. I will try it out and feedback. I was actually thinking of doing the TAS via scripts. eg keep velocity high and frame advance, and have scripts for the long jump, running and kicking keypresses. Would this be a good method?

I am interested in this but will need some help. Would anyone be interested in watching this if I finish it? It would be good to have the memory addresses such as x,y position of Barry and his stored energy. Also, it would be very helpful if there is a lua script to show the hitbox height of goons as well as their x distance from Barry. This is because Barry's long jump appears to be in a symmetric parabola and he can jump over some goons when they are in their attacking sprite. Thanks.

Would it be better if you played through mission mode first to unlock a faster character and then use that to TAS time attack mode? 09. Ataru Hori - Clear North Pole Stage in Mission Driller.

there is a playthrough where the bike is glitched into the ground, so for the rest of the stage the bike travels in the ground and avoids all obstacles. (3:02) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8132179

hope to see Metal Slug 5 done soon! On a side note, there is a run for Metal Slug XX which is quite free of mistakes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlDt-6OLJV4

Actually, it would be interesting to find the fastest time to KO a fight for every fighting game. So the TAS would only show one round, no restriction on character. For example, I reckon a MSH one would show Juggernaut with Power up and Power Gem doing a Headcrush.

There seems to be periods during the spaceship phase where there are no enemies, is the entire spaceship phase a fixed duration? If so there is no need to kill the large asteroids quickly. Could you then sacrifice a spaceship slug earlier and farm the midboss for 99 bombs for one player?

this 12 minute run glitched the name entry to give the character infinite amounts of all items: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm14500277

This run is interesting - level up at the beginning and then one-shot everything with Air Render, only requiring a Black Mage to deal with Flans. I wonder how much less leveling and how many fighters required for a TAS? http://www.youtube.com/user/GalleonLogic
