Anyone see the glaring problem with the proposed route modifications yet? You need the bow to complete Snowhead optimally, especially the boss battle. You need a bow and Fire Arrows to complete Woodfall optimally (the Gekko battle and shooting the torch). You can't have both at the same time. Because Snowhead Temple is so far away from the warp point, Woodfall must be split into two parts. If Woodfall is split up, there's no point in trying to get the hookshot with no bow, since the bow can fire much more quickly than Deku bubbles can. Hence, petrie's route still prevails.
Can't you use a Deku Stick for shooting the torch?

You can backwalk onto a flower and enter it, but the spinning motion and redirecting motion inside (that sends out a puff of gas while tilting the angle to aim in the direction you want) can possibly screw up which direction your facing. I suppose you could point the direction opposite of your desired direction and fly backwards, but doesn't landing reposition you to face fowards? someone would need to test this
I have tested it and you are wrong. The Deku Flower points you into whichever direction you are facing. So if you backwalk into, it points you backwards from your destination.

turning around to fly backwards takes more time then turning around on the ground... and flying backwards gives the appearance of a speed boost, but I think it's deceiving Is swimming out of the water in the air (not the same as OoT) as Zora going to be used at all? this is easily replicable on the console so I'm told, so will the acheivable height/speed boost be used? I know super slide will be used primarily for ground movement and bomb hover to gain height but does the zora air swimming have application?
You have the wrong idea of what he means for the flying backwards. He means to go from the front of the flower facing away from where you are going, tapping z, then flying out of it abckwards to your destination. I'm not sure if it's faster though.

So, does anyone know if you can superslide from a set of stairs? Cause you cant superslide down them? Also, explain how to skip the Kakariko Owl with ground jump please. Thanks EDIT: However, Ive done a trick before where the bomb explodes, and when I am suppose to superslide, I do a huge backflip instead. Any thoughts? EDIT: Here you go, I call it the super backflip (dont know if someone has found this yet) http://rapidshare.de/files/34569365/superbackflip.avi.html
Cool. You found a way to do a Mid-Air Superslide without Nayru's love. I think all you do to skip the owl text, is get a ground jump ready then run right past him. Atleast, that's how you skip the owl in the Lost Woods.

I think the most feasible idea would be to just have an All medallion run and the Any% beat-game-as-fast-as-possible run. The All Medallion run would include all time saving glitches and tricks. Having an All Medallion no glitching run would be very boring to watch. Having individual TAS's of beating all possible Adult dungeons as a child would also be pretty neat.

Here's a .wmv file of DC. I speeded it up to keep the file size low although it should be possible to slow it down to normal speed, the only way I can view this is by using Guano's previously provided savestate. If anyone is desperate enough to see it here it is. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=7FC9763625442537 I didn't give a top notch one because the dungeon itself needs to be patched up a bit.
Thank you!

I'd assume it's possible to do this with the superslide, and I doubt it would waste frames there.
Yes, you can do it with the superslide.

It seems like it would take a few more frames to set up. So it's probably not desirable to do it in a TAS...
Yes, it's slower to do.

I really hope the moat can be done with a bomb, since it would save time in Jabu, because we wouldn't need to do the bomb hover.
Yes, you can skip the moat using a bomb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqg221x52eY I think this way is easier and faster than the staircase hover method.

So you're doing the King Zora skip after all? It was determined that it took less time to get a bottle via Kakariko or to actually wake the dude up than it does to skip his animation?
Not skipping King Zora is definetly not faster than skipping him.

Yay! I have finally been able to register here. Very nice run so far GuanoBowl. The way you do the cucco jumpslash over the gate always seems to me amaze me. I've noticed that you do the Skulltula trick in the Deku Tree slow (for a TAS). You can do simultaneous side-hops as long as you side-hop left to right instead of left, left, right, left, etc. You still did it fast so it's not a big deal. Anyways, I can't wait to see the next part. I believe you're storing a ground jump off of the Bomb Flower using a Bombchu as the blast. That will be cool to see.
