I have to say, that hack seems terrible to me. But, that's just me. If you want to run it, go right ahead. I feel that the need to collect those chaos emeralds detracts from the game's overall experience. As does the emerald collection sound strewn all over.

Wow. This is the first time I have seen a TAS start from zero and go on it's way to a full submission. It's great. Keep up the awesome work. I used to play the older version of this game and I was trying to figure out why the levels were in such an odd order.

The problem with that is that [p1] means it's NOT a valid [!] dump. And it can not be used on the site. [p] - Pirate

I got it as well. I think these are crappy images. But DOSBox made it happen. Here's levels 0 through 25. http://www.multiup.org/download/826011732f0ebb3b86ddf3167dd1b07f/Jetpack_0-25.zip

What about having an analog stick at a non-neutral status when the console is turned on? Would that allow for games to be given values higher then expected?

Advance wars 2 can be easily made 2 players match without link. You can watch this.
That was done by using a "Pass the pad" style of play. Since both sides take turns, it makes sense that you can play 2 or 3 or even 4 players with one GBA since it gets passed around. It's two players, but one system.

Bizhawk is trying to make GBx emulation do link play. GBA, there's no core in Bizhawk for that, yet.

The Genesis Core is still in "beta." I am awaiting the time when it's out of Beta.

What about Puggsy? It ends on the first possible frame (as per the rules), still takes damage but wins. I would say, the category "Takes damage to save time" works for these situations.

It would feel more like a 100% run if you did it without those random powerups, anyway. The levels are clearly designed to be played without them.
It can make the run faster if the items are used/abused. Fuel Shortage was much easier once I got some fuel (which dropped randomly).

if you have svn and have it set up to compile and whatnot, yeah. if you don't have that setup, then i can get you a build
I don't have an SVN client installed, so a build would be quite welcome.

How can I get a hold of that version? Through the SVN?

For some reason, attempting to load The Incredible Crash Dummies for NES causes an error.

I am the Meh vote. Why? Yes, it's fast, but I was not entertained that much. It was creative and did break the game to a degree but it wasn't that much fun to watch. Technical side is high for me. The corner boosting trickery is quite impressive.

I thought the recent TAS run skipped Act 1 and went straight into Act 2 using Act 1's boss. Does this mean that all of Ice Cap is being skipped?

That would be an interesting question. Would a demo file that the engine created, be allowed as a submission on TASVideos? The engine runs the demo and the input is reproduced getting the same results everytime, but is it a "valid" demo? No cheats used, stuff like that.
Lol. Well what I meant was, record a demo in slowmo, but then play it back after recording, in real time, but use something like Fraps to record a video of the demo.
What would be done is people would want the demo file(s) to verify what you did. We don't allow pre-encoded videos as submissions. WIPs, sure.
