I've posted this somewhere before, but here is the lua script to skip all the cut scenes (items,doors,intro). It also fixes the little flicker at the top of the screen.
a=0

while true do

	if memory.readbyte(0x7e198e) == 128 then
	gui.drawbox(0,0,255,31,"#000000")
end

b=memory.readbyte(0x7E1842)
if a~=b then
snes9x.speedmode("normal")
else snes9x.speedmode("turbo")
end
a=b

	snes9x.frameadvance()
end

Congratulations buddy. I know how much work you put into this beast of a run, and the effort really shows. Highly optimized with that special cpadolf touch of entertainment makes for an awesome movie. I don't have anything to add about the authorship of the movie, you summed it up perfectly in the submission text. I am just happy that I was able to help in anyway during the production of this run.

You can grapple up the snail room instead of using walljumps... I think that is what he is talking bout

Very nice run man :) You had some incredibly clever tricks in there. Lowering your speed upon entering the kraid eye door room was pure genius. I tried countless times to get all the way to the eye door with the blue ball but never managed, and all I had to do was lower the speed by a fraction. Another classic bit was when you had the wallcrawler drop with you when heading toward crocomire in order to get a damage boost. Can you tell me if it was actually faster to use the alternate route when heading to the grapple beam. It seems like you did this more for entertainment purposes, because it sure seemed slower. I think that your run is reasonably well optimized considering how quickly you produced it. I don't know if you can knock 4 minutes off it using the same route, but since you guys are using a different route it could be possible. Congrats on finishing it!

The name of the smv sure did give me false hope, the phenomenom is kinda particular anyhow.
Yeah sorry for the filename, it was made while I was attempting to find a way to one round draygon. In case anybody didn't know, the grapple beam causes draygon to come to a complete stop while the beam passes through him. It allows for more missiles to hit him because the weapon cooldown period is less of a factor while he is standing still. As for the mini wip, it looks pretty solid. It is unfortunate that you guys did not have a better supply of missiles. Many of the intentional slow downs in my run are still present here (~30 frames I estimate). The unmorph before the mini kraid room comes to mind, along with the other two big ones that cpadolf already mentioned. I don't really have a remedy, but I know it is possible to play up to kraid with a better ammo supply. It would require you to play from phantoon again, so I imagine that is out of the question. Was it faster to boost off the mini kraid spike? If I recall it would be quicker to just jump underneath it.

#1 Was done in all previous movies so that the crawler enemy starts heading to the right instead of the left. It would be impossible to jump over otherwise. #2 I agree with you on this one, but haven't spent the time to test it.

Amazing run man! It is always awesome to get obsoleted when the run is of a caliber such as this :D

That samus on crack vid was awesome. It reminds me of that Super Metroid Insanity teaser that Kejardon posted.

because xray climb is ugly looking, and it is considered the most boring/lame part of the recently published any% run. Why take the 100% run (which is entertaining throughout) and add sections of boring xray climbing? If we are going to use an abusive glitch such as that, we might as well just take the plasma beam and spazer beam then make the planet explode prematurely. Being a hardware glitch is irrelevant, because it is possible on the emulator and console.

Yeah we are not going to use it. Mainly, like you said, it would be inconsistent to use the trick there and not in tourian. Another thing about the early gravity suit trick is that the health/ammo requirements would make all rooms leading up to it look like shit. Though some/many would disagree with me, I am the type of person who likes to see the cut scenes for nostalgia purposes. I also happen to be against using the stand up trick on the mother brain, but I am pretty sure we will end up using it in the run.

There are a bunch of runs of this site that are categorized as "glitched". Contra 3, Alttp, Yoshi's Island, to name a few. I think we can all agree that the glitches used in this run are enough to warrant a separate publication as a "glitched" run. Technically it should not obsolete the 14% run, because that run does not abuse game breaking glitches. I am however not opposed to seeing this obsolete the 14% run, because I do not believe that the 14% item restriction makes for an entertaining movie. The route is almost identical my any% run with the exception that a couple beams are not collected. I also think that the 100% run should not use game breaking glitches either, despite the huge amount of time they might save. If it helps to alleviate any fear of "too many super metroid runs!", it should be known that Taco and Kriole are now working on a new any% run. This new run should theoretically obsolete both my run and Cpadolf's run. They will be aiming for real time, but at the same time will also manage to tie the in-game run's in-game time. Two movies obsolete for the price of one.

Is that a 14% run you are working on, namespoofer? I really like your stylistic choices during the ridley part. Did you finish a test run of it, which you plan on posting? Taco/Kriole, any progress on the any% or rbo runs?

Saturn, Yet another trick you knew about and could have given to JXQ? Why on earth did you ever say that 36 was impossible? The two tricks alone which you kept secret ensured that 36 was possible a long time ago. Well, nice demo anyway.

Is it really gonna save time to kill only 1 metroid? I kill 2 in my run, but both are killed at the exact same time. I don't know how it will save time to kill just the one. Keep up the good work Lord Tom :D

yes you can. Just position yourself to hit them with the echo on favorable frames. their drops will change on a frame by frame basis anyway.

I think it's pretty clever how the hack was designed to use the "natural route", just without the natural item pickup order. Great run Cp :D It amazes me how fast you whip through these things.

Yeah it only work for doors on the left side of the screen. It works in a bunch of rooms, it just requires finding the correct positioning. It has fairly no use in a run other than the one used in CP's run 2 rooms before ridley.

Half a second saved on the kraid fight, nice :D Does this mean you are already up to Kraid in your run, or was that just a test fight?

Great run, especially for a first submission. Did you plan on making another run? It seems like you were going to by the way you were talking in the SMRPG thread. The only things I see as improvable is that you did not fight booster, and I think you over leveled your characters. Rock candy kinda eliminates the need to ever level up. The time spent playing the yoshi game and on the level up screens is pretty staggering. Using the lucky jewel also wastes a turn in many of the battles. voting yes.

Saturn, Fair enough. Though if you are simply copying your old run and adding a few new techs, shouldn't you be able to finish the entire run in a short period of time? I look forward to it regardless, because you have proven to be a great SM taser. I just wish you would reevaluate your attitude around here. I can understand that you want to keep your tricks secret, but there is no reason to be so arrogant and mean towards some of the others here.

Taco, Nice find man :) I think you shouldn't have any trouble implementing that into the any% realtime run. I am looking forward to seeing my run obsoleted. Saturn, So you plan to just sit back and wait for them to finish their run, then copy 99% of their input for your's? That sounds familiar to me... kinda like the way you talk to moozooh.
