yup, I'm still working on the game (any%) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/638558461/janus3-phantasystariv.gmv This time, I am trying the run with the Silver Tusk. I am only 1080 frames behin after defeating Lashiec. I saved nearly 2400 frames in-battle thanks to the Tusk (and some more against the Specter, since only Rika attacked). If my feelins are right, I might not even need to heal against DF 2, which would make the silver-tusk run quicker

Oh, through the discussions, I knew BOF 1 would be rejected. However, I have yet to experiment BOF 2 to check on delays, because they are substantial. So far, my estimations say that it's 5 minutes quicker by not going to Township and Guntz to talk to Eichichi. I should be able to bring proper estimation later

How much "difference" are we talking about? In my estimate, it would be at least 5 minutes on a 4.75 h TAS

I think this "incompletion" would be the case with the bad ending in BOF 1 when not getting Agni or in BOF 2 by not opening the gates of Infinity. But my proposal might have a chance

With the new categories (moons, vault), would it be possible to TAS games such as BOF 1 and BOF 2 without doing the best ending? In the latter case especially, the "sad" ending would save up quite a bit of time, notably by killing Ganer and not going after Eichichi

with the new categories, could the "sad ending" killing Ganer along with the Guardeyes be accepted? I don't think the "worst ending" (not going through Inifinity) would be accepted...

since there are now new classifications, could a "bad ending" (not using Agni against the Goddess) be accepted?

I did the "all sidequests" because the "blast from the past" run was rejected. I think the "all sidequests" is better for a speed run

"100% runs" are difficult to define, especially for RPGs. However, if my run must fall into A category, then it would probably be 100%

That's my point. Why go out of the way for those and not for the Wreckage?
Because it did not fit my definition of sidequest. It was just boring dialogue and no special weapon

the plate system isn't *totally* unmarked. After all, that's where I get Demi her upgrade

I skipped it because it was unentertaining. You might say that some of the hunters quest were too, and I agree. However, I think that only fighting bosses and let some quests unfinished might have been a weaker submission.

I just tried 2 star dews against Lashiec. Definitely next to impossible manipulation, unless I take a shield from Kyra, which means precious frames are lost

Why nobody have done a 100% run of Sonic 2?
I guess getting 50 rings (and hitting the lamppost) is tedious. Plus, getting the ring count after the emeralds is going to take a while, I guess

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/875917423/Phantasy%20Star%20IV%20%284%29%20%5B%21%5D.gmv here's the 100% run after Gy-Laguiah. The detour to the plate system is worthwhile: I get Demi's upgrade (to be used against PD), a gun not too much out of the way (compared to Nurvus) and the laser barrier, which won't make me shop on Dezoris

I haven't given up the idea of a 100% run. How would you guys feel for such a run, where I do all sidequests (defined as a detour from the main road in order to fight a boss (like de Dezoris climate tower), get money (the hunters guild), weapons and upgrades (the robots' upgrades, the silver tusk) or simply a sidequest 'normal' gameplay would tend towards (plate system))?

hun. the blast from the past failed. Would a true 100% run (all sidequests, minus detours for dialogues) work?

While I wouldn't call it a 100% run, I think there's more entertainment here than there was in the currently published movie, so my Yes vote will include the proposition that this movie obsolete that one.
really? I hope not. It's more than 1/2 an hour longer. I was hoping for a second publication. This run is more for fans of the series (I played II and III, and a bit of I)
I was afraid you had forgotten about Megid when going to the Edge for the first time, but of course I was wrong.
I did wonder how high Chaz should be. When I decided to get Rune legeon, i was looking for Xhaz to get at least 30 tp. He was finally able to cast megid twice
