http://rapidshare.com/files/272768126/Breath_of_Fire_II__U_.smv.html this is it, take 2. about 30k frames faster than the previous attempt. thoughts and comments? about getting katt : this would require quite a bit of manipulation. 1) she (and many others) need to avoid barubary 2) she needs to do critical damage. is it doable?

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1528345728/Breath%20of%20Fire%20II%20%28U%29.smv back from the monkeys. It's slightly longer (200 frames) because of the WiseBl in township and shopping in the monkey castle

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1595648734/Phantasy%20Star%20IV%20%284%29%20%5B%21%5D.gmv I DID IT!!! unfortunately, escaping from gumbious is going to take too long. I will go and pick up the sol-dew from the basement before the torch gets stolen... while i'm at it : should I get the ceramic sword instead of the laser sword? The former give 43 attack, the other 58. how can I estimate how much damage I can cause?

lashiec may not be as hard as I expected. Tedious, but not hard - he casts possession every odd turns, and Wren seems immune to it - with a little luck, wren can withstand the physical attack ( a long lighting strike). My plan : cast deban in the first round, and make everybody do as much damage before the end of the second round. At the end of the second round, only Kyra and Wren should be alive (i don't think rika can make it). Then, I will manipulate possession on odd rounds and heal as necessary on even rounds. It will be long, but I think I can make it

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/583769889/Phantasy%20Star%20IV%20%284%29%20%5B%21%5D.gmv after an insane amount of resetting (mainly, to test my macros), I was able to defeat xe-la-thoul without levelling up. Let's go for the big boss now...

I wonder : should I use st.fire in the DF I battle? I'm sure I could win the battle without it, but it does have some beautiful graphics...

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1491682715/Breath%20of%20Fire%20II%20%28U%29.smv back at the same ol' spot. it's about 1000 frames shorter than the original run

my plan : try with wise fruits (i roughly need 84, plus about 20 helpBL) and go straight down infinity. I will fight barubary as I did previously (alone with wiseBLs). There's one in township (which I won't fill up) and one in claris' house. from my point of view, getting the staff would use more frames (fighting carmas, hoping for the staff, casting at-up...) the wisebl in clari's house is a detour (5 seconds or more), so if I redo the run cooking, i probably will do the cooking rather than getting it in the house

yes I would because i would be stuck at 9500 damage... I think I will take atma's challenge and use wisefruits. the barabury fight will be similar; I should be able to find enough wisebl

The first stage of the Barubary fight ends once Barubary takes over 1250 points of damage; therefore, it should be possible to do over 2000 damage before the fight ends, allowing him to be defeated using one less G Dragon..
dear, not another cooking descent...
Habaruku also has 2500 health so it should be possible to use a regular dragon on him in place of the last G Dragon
i forgot about this one
If you consider that your goal wasn't to waste time, then you violated it massively and I'd vote no on it if you were to submit it as it is.
the goal is the same; I just show the end credits

I have a similar problem. My file is over 2 mb, so microstorage won't take it...

that's plan B. However, I doubt it will save that many frames. Don't forget I don't go around for any treasures, so defense is low. Plus, wisefruits only heal 20 mp And yes, I think I will save that many frames. WiseBl don't suck up HP, and they restore all MP (100, but I won't have that much). i did catch up about 1/2 of what I lost.

I did notice that one of the treasure chests you have to open (Alshline?), there's one right next to it with an Escapipe. I think it'd be faster to grab that Escapipe than to buy the ones you do in Tonoe..
actually, since I need to buy telepipes, buying the escapipe saves time. and now that I will need one (no detour to the wreckage).
Also, it seemed like in one of the battles you fight with Rune, you lead with Hewn/Flaeli and then go to Giwat... but Giwat does more damage than the special attacks (if only by 5 or so). The TP certainly isn't relevant, and I don't think the animation makes you lose frames, so I'm not sure why you go with the special attacks instead
giwat? must be against dark forces... oh, and does the guard-rod cast sar or gisar? if it's the latter, I won't need star-dews

I'd say "not really." The text scrolls at a rate that's a bit faster than what'd probably be ideal for reading. It doesn't really add much more than a couple of pretty pictures for the scene. I think that was the only real entertainment trade-off I saw. Other than that, the run was looking great..
mmm... now that you mention it. However, I will make some detours (silver tusk, wren's weapon upgrades)
Before you restart however, I would suggest getting to lashiec first and seeing if you can beat him as you are. If you're unable to, then it would be a massive time waster since you'd have to restart again to level earlier.
meh, i'm used to it :D. Besides, I would only need to restart at the weapon plant; life deleters can yield a lot of experience[/quote]

i'm restarting the run. I noticed that, usually, escaping from towns (rather than walking out) uses less frames. and btw, are my entertainment trade-offs are worth the effort?

believe it or not, xe-la-soul (the 3 priests that steal the eclipse torch) can be killed without leveling!! let's check for lashiec...
