I don't remember if anyone's said this or not, but... SMB2j warpless. It would rock. That is all.
I tried that with VirtuaNES, so not many people saw it. It was kinda fun to make, but I don't know if watching it is all that great. While there are a few interesting levels, it's mostly just stuff you've seen already in the other SMB runs, stretched out to several levels. How about... I think the gameplay of Kickle Cubicle can be pretty fun to watch since you can perform some really quick moves in the game with the emulator. The transitions are terrible, but FCEU does have a fast-forward buttons to help out there. Try this, a run I made of the first world: http://omake.studio-zoe.com/Kickle%20Cubicle%20(U).fcm

This movie is a lot more impressive to those who know how awful this game is. A makes your character both jump and speed up, and when you're in mid-jump, the speed up button switches to B. Very, very, very bad control scheme. Unfortunately, I had to vote "no" too. It just seems clear that no planning was involved in this run. The first level was okay, but then in the Mall and Museum levels, you kept backtracking to get items when you didn't really need to, and you also stopped to get coins a few times, when they don't really do anything. And you messed up the door game. What was that about? ^^;

Oh, so it is. Well, I'm sure they can do a much better job with it. I didn't even know there was a 2-player simaltaneous mode. Of the ability to speed up the paddle in the options mode, for that matter... heh.

I liked NES speed run of Arkanoid, so I'm surprised I haven't seen this game mentioned here. Granted, all the Arkanoid games are pretty similar, but there are new powerups to make optimal use of, a multiball that gives you 8 balls instead of just 3, and also a few boss fights. Overall, it was a pretty cool and overlooked sequel... much better than the rather wretched "Arkanoid Returns" arcade game. I actually made my own run of this and uploaded it to http://omake.studio-zoe.com/dohitagain-joshl.zip (uses the USA rom). I did the best I could with it, but it's a little inconsistent on the whole, and I don't think it's good enough to submit properly. But y'all can use it to judge whether a time attack of this game would be entertaining or not. It only includes the first 33 levels. There are 99 total. ^^;

Did a little research. Seems like 'Another World' is the EU-release name for Out Of This World. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/data/9221.html Anyway, seems like it's made by the same company, no wonder it looks similar.
Another World was the original name (Delphine is based in France), and I suspect the name was changed in the US release because at the time, there was a TV Soap Opera of the same name. I never played this game before and I have no idea what's going on in this run, but I enjoyed watching it anyway... hahaha. I'd vote "yes," but seeing as it's already being processed, I guess that would be moot.

I find this movie more interesting than the Actraiser movie that was published, to be frank, simply because the player has more moves (it's just jump and slash in the first game), there's more actual fighting instead of just running through the enemies... and I don't think the sim parts were nearly as interesting as you thought they were, Bis. ^^; Not a great movie, but not that bad either; I voted "Yes".

Those simulation parts could definitely have been done faster. I dunno though... this run seems to have taken the "Takes damage to save time" attribute to the extreme. I personally find it hard to be entertained by a run where the player just runs through all the monsters to reach the end, but maybe that's just me.

Sadly enough, two major drawbacks to the game are constantly having to do the same stages over and over and over again, with the nail in the coffin being fighting the same exact boss over again and again and again...Sure the game is very fun to play, but it certainly would not be very enjoyable to watch after seeing stage one for the 4th, or even 5th time...
The way I see it, if a game has these problems, it's best to just not bother with it at all instead of just playing a portion of the game. And I agree, Strider is pretty slow and repetitive, and all the intermissions and text parts which can't be sped up don't help much. This really isn't a game that anyone should go through the trouble of making a speedrun for, especially since its play control makes it very difficult. It was a pretty bad game, wasn't it? One of those games you look back on and wonder why it was popular...

Oh. Allso! Could someone verify the rumor about Soda Popinski's development name was "Vodka Drunkinsky" or simmilar? I have heard that from a guy last weekend. Not sure if it's true.
Soda Popinski first appeared in the arcade game Super Punch-Out back in 1985 (also where Great Tiger and Super Macho Man debuted), and was known as "Vodka Drunkinski" in this game. They changed his name when they put him in the NES game.

I dunno how many of you use VirtuaNES. But here are some movies I made with the emulator. (I use ver. 0.78) They are located in a batch at: http://omake.studio-zoe.com/VirtuaNES%20Movies.zip (189k) This zip includes just the movie files, of course, and not the ROMs. The file includes movies of: 1943 (superkill) Bart vs. The Space Mutants (time attack, unfinished due to a bug) Gargoyle's Quest 2 (time attack) Gyruss (sucky time attack) Kid Icarus (time attack w/ best ending) Marble Madness (time attack, 3 minutes!) Rainbow Island (time attack, sorta) Super Mario (Small Fiery demo) Super Mario 2 (Japanese Version, warpless time attack) Snake Rattle n' Roll (1-player Time Attack, uses warps) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (really dull time attack) Enjoy!

Just wanted to congratulate y'all for the video. =D Frankly, I'm blown away by the fact that the game can be done in under 30 minutes.

The problem with Up+A is that it wouldn't look as good in a speedrun video, IMO. I'm not sure how to put it. It'd make it look more like a bunch of seperate runs were linked together, as opposed to one constant, flowing quest from beginning to end. If that makes sense. ^^; I don't think the door-unlock trick for Level 1 should be illegal (I always thought it was a random secret the programmers put into the game, as opposed to a glitch), BUT I'm not sure if it actually saves any time, because it means having to add two extra "scene transition" animations, as well as animations of Link walking in/out of the dungeon, both of which are pretty slow. Factor all that in, and acquiring a key from the enemies anywhere on the path through Level 2 is probably faster. I'm actually surprised that getting the Magic Key in the beginning takes longer. It must be because you can get all the keys you need in a straight path through the game (I only had to go out of the way to get a key once in my run, IIRC... and it turned out to be because I accidentally opened a door without noticing. ^^;) Both Michael and I passed by Level 5 to get the White Sword, which is another thing I was wondering about. Would going to level 5 first (and subsequently getting the whistle early) save time? The problem, of course, is having to do Level 5 with the Wooden Sword, and that level is full of Darknuts. Anyway, those are my thoughts. I doubt I'll be making any more Zelda speedruns, but I can comment on the sideline. =D
