This game looks much better than its prequel. Everything seems improved. It doesn't require you taking damage to be more entertaining (though taking damage would still save time). The bonus mini games seems interesting as well. I don't know how well as to technical level you've done, but a big Yes vote from me is already guanranteed.

I unlocked them by completing all levels except for the training levels without damage.
I guess Sir VG intended to ask, "What will happen if you clear the extra levels?"

Ahhhh, just seeing that, I remember everything! I had visited TASVideos years before I registered! Yeah, this site was named Nesvideos! 8D ...though I didn't spend time to look for Famtasia to watch any .fmv movie. XD

Starts from savestate+reset? O_o I thought you knew that "record from sram for GBx" had been fixed (though experimentally) by svn r85. Oh, we haven't anounced that fixed version released. XD Maybe you can try some hex-work to see if it can be "corrected". EDIT: Oh, well, this movie can be "converted" to the "correct" format, and the reset frame can be removed (thus 1 frame faster). But then it can only be watcheded with SVN r85 or later versions... So, er, I don't know.

I've always been having trouble with mediafire. This time I cannot even start to download. It displays "Processing download request..." for ever. O_o EDIT: Alright, I've downloaded and watched your WIP. You are doing very well.

I guess many DS TASers have made such mistakes. BTW: Your private build of DeSmuME-rr is very interesting.

For other GB variants:
:target:vba-sadvhack.exe:73A5B8
To find those addresses, you need to decompress and disassemble the executable. We can download the source code of the emulator, so finding them is not very difficult. GBA: searching a string like "vbaIRAM", or MapViewOfFile call will help. GBx: searching 0xfe00, "shr e?x, 12", or "and e?x, 0x0fff" may help.
Bumping this to hopefully get the addresses for the current version of VBA, 1.7.2, v21. I don't know how to go about finding them since I don't know about how to disassemble the .exe or where to find this information in the source code. :(
I think there're something like ""Copy memory addresses for VBAWatch" under the "Tools" menu in v21. However, you should use at least the svn r85 then. It fixed some bugs related to the very VBAWatch/VBxWatch strings that missed CR (0xD) before the newline characters, which caused VBAWatch/VBxWatch to fail.

I have always understood "meh" to mean "I personally didn't care too much about this run in particular, but I see no technical reason why it shouldn't be published, as it meets the quality criteria of the site". A "I don't care" option would be not voting at all. "Weak yes" would be something like "yes, it's good, although..."
So, the only thing a "meh" vote does is to indicate that someone has lost interest in that run during watching. EDIT: By the way, I'd like to go off topic to "inflated ratings" again:

So what if I don't like watching crappy movies on obscure, unsuitable games, and hence never have to vote low? Averaging a user's votes is only valid if the user watched an standard distributed set of movies. It's also doesn't hurt to have our top movies actually display a 9.x on the front page. Promotion and stuff. If we wish to avoid abuse, we could employ a rating bias metric: Calculate how close a user's ratings were to the public opinion, i.e. the difference between his rating and the total average. For example, I rated 8 on movie A and 4 on movie B, while the average rating is 6 on A 4 on B. My opinion is on average ((8-6) + (4-4))/2 = 1 above the popular opinion. I'm a high-voter, reduce all my ratings by 1 point. (there are some corner cases that need to be taken into account to avoid unwanted side-effects, though. Like users with only 1 vote.) Of course, any form of normalization can be manipulated by placing a few strategic votes to shift your average. But I feel that my suggestion will give better results than just setting the rating's mean to 5.
Another way is to just ignore 1 or 2 or a certain percentage of highest and lowest ratings in a category, and then take the average of the rest ratings. With reasonable clipping, this way most of the inflation caused by extreme ratings will be eliminated.

1. Open any subpage. 2. On that subpage, click on any link to a page that has a different parent or none. A wrong URL will be opened. EDIT: Oops. EDIT by Bisqwit: Made the topic title a bit more descriptive

I'd like to know if they are working on the in-game lag problem. If it'll be in one month or two, I'll be waiting while doing tests. Otherwise, well, I don't know, as I'm semi-perfectionist. It would be great as well even if they only managed to optimize the extremely slow graphic engine. At least I might be able to see what the movie would look in real time.

@Serris: So I guess You are not making a TAS movie, but using TAS method to do a human run with the emulator to get around certain obstacles. Am I correct? I remember messing around with the tunnel back in the days when Toad Morph was the only OoB way. No success. And when I found the horizontal SG OoB (I had found the vertical one earlier thanks to the hint from CotM), I made more tests and still failed. I was close, though - I was able to SG back just several blocks higher over the leftmost tunnel, and get ejected out. O_o

I don't think so. Zip files have CRC, don't they? If they were corrupted during downloading, the extractor (7-zip etc.) would warn you. I've been unable to play any mcm movies these days, even if I am using exactly the same command lines with the same games and movies (including adelikat's Dragon Egg!) as before. I've tried all available mcm files around here, and all of them have been stopped as soon as the emulator starts. Hint: I know how to use command lines correctly.

Oops, I admit that it's a bit too long. Yet still, it entertains me. The most impressive thing is how stealth done "correctly", as others have pointed out. As to the "turbo requirement", I turboed throughout Mario 64 "120 stars", while I found it entertaining with that. On the contrary, I managed to watch Mega Man 6 at 100% speed, and I found it repetetive i.e. boring to some degree.

Why not give all suggested submissions a chance? If they are doomed to feed the grue anyway, you judges may state your reasoning here.

At present, the current DeSmuME is like the old laggy VBA in the past. Which is different is that I don't see a flag like "Lag Reduction (DS)" will be provided in the fixed release, as according to a core developer, the timing inaccuracies are scattered here and there in the source, rather than a simple prefetch bug that only sits in a single file. Yeah I think we are all just doing "test runs for the brighter future" at this point.

Yeah, I found this movie "too short", too. However a star could be too much. Actually, this movie is not hard to follow at all. The actions on graphic indicate the main clue.

I almost cast "No" if I hadn't watched the last autoscroll stage. Thanks to pacifism, most of the run "doesn't look much different from an unassisted run" (what we call "SMB1 Syndrome"). Some levels and mini games are repepetive, but the last level where you dance to the music is entertaining (it's sometimes off the tempo though). Now I think that this movie is on-par with the average movies published (which means there're more boring movies published). I'm OK with it getting published since I don't hate it. EDIT: I got it wrong. The flight levels aren't autoscrolling! However, flying all the way towards the goal withouts interacting with anything else hurts entertainment though (what we call "SMW Syndrome").

I was (very) impressed with the movie in a technical sense, but a 1-player movie of this game doesn't offer anything extra compared to the 2-player movie we have.
I guess the "common sense" to most people on this planet is that a 2-player movie should offer something extra, since "2 players" is something extra. Nonetheless, this movie doesn't abuse death, which looks different from the published 2-player movie. And I still insist that a lonely "final fighter" (not referring to the user with a similar name) is more superherorical and cool. "Random" remark below:

I do not think this movie should be published, but I really hope that you, 红白超人 (something white superhuman?), continue making more movies.
I guess 红白超人 means Famicom (in red & white) Superman in this context, which could imply that the author intended to "conquer" the Famicom/NES with TAS-Power (TM). However, the author has never come back, probably thanks to having his/her first high-technique and publishable-on-some-regard submission rejected (apparently I read somewhere that we would lower the bar for newcomers, at least in the "old good days"), with very negative feedbacks.

This run is awesome due to going forward continueously while bouncing between obstacles. That is to say, it is awesome due to aiming for fastest real time while taking damage. Yes vote.

This is an acceptable movie of a game on "a new console" arcade that is "new" to this site. So easily Yes.

Considering the heavy timing/lag issue(s) to be fixed in the future, movies made these days will definitely desync then.

Oh, I failed to see the "44" byte, so I thought it was an error. It was in facts correct. You know what "little endian" means, don't you? In the RAM viewer, you were viewing the bytes as 32-bit (4-byte) little endian, so that a string of bytes "00 00 00 44 33 22 11 00" started at address 0x021121C0 were displayed as "44000000 00112233". Meanwhile, you were watching the 4-byte substring "44 33 22 11" started at address 0x021121C3 as a whole 32-bit integer, so it was displayed as "11223344". There was not a single error then. If I am still missing something, please let me know it.
