This is a great TAS, it was one of the very first ones I ever saw, and I just got done seeing it again after several years. In my opinion, a 100% run would be interesting. I am actually thinking about going for it.

Does anyone else have experience with the time lord freezing the mobs in Exodus Castle?

Guardic is related to the infamous Guardian Legend, there might be some interest there.

Ooh, finally! I was wondering if I would ever see Beetle Mania TASed, and look! Here it is! This is great! Even better that a sophisticated bot script was authored for this! Very awesome.

There was a similar coincidence that happened for that submission too. I sure didn't expect that there would be faster runs out there.

Is this yours? The user name is different and you said that you would use the Japanese version of the game, so I guess that submission is from a different person.

I couldn't get SNES9X to use a 50Hz video mode, so I watched this run at 120% speed. It was a joy to watch! I was surprised at how much faster some levels are in this TAS than they would be in a normal playthrough. It's too bad that there are so many forced cutscenes, naturally, but it doesn't ruin the entertainment value. It seems that you were quite thorough it making sure this run is optimized. Sprinkled liberally here and there throughout the run are obviously clever tool-assisted things you did to make things faster and more interesting. This should have appeal to people unfamiliar with the game. Voted yes.

Are you planning to TAS the forums?

It doesn't work for me either. I think the problem is the same one mentioned in this post: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=301322#301322

I really like this kind of TAS. You breathed so much life into this game, that apparently wasn't the most appreciated game in its time. It was so fun to watch, and all the time I was thinking to myself, that I'm glad that I don't have to play this game to appreciate it. And the music. Is. Awesome.

I juuuuust discovered this game... by watching the recent Spider Man TAS, finding out who did the music, checking out other games with music by the same people, and finally stumbling upon this beauty of a game. It is so cool that a new TAS is being worked on, too! Will be following this for sure.

Nach is actually N.A.C.H. The acronym stands for Not Any Cranks Himself.

By the way, if you picture Cranky Kong turning the crank of the music box in the intro to Donkey Kong Country, you will know how what Nach does looks like.

I really enjoyed watching both the encode of this, and the comparison video that you made, HappyLee. Thank you for artfully presenting the entertainment value that can be derived from a Super Mario Bros. TAS. I like the Rock Man 2 sound effect in your logo.

The first thing I thought of is The Guardian Legend, but that doesn't have sidescrolling. Instead it scrolls upwards in the shooter sequences.

I thought that a TAS of this game would be kind of boring, but I was wrong! Your WIP looks great! I think it's abundantly entertaining, and has style!
