Congrats Team 4, that was close. Is anyone gonna do a comparison encode like the DTC5's one ?
This game allows for different routes so I don't think that's possible.
The easiest way would be to follow the stage order of the winner, and add a timer on the side to say the cumulative time difference with team 4.

That's more than enough time to... I don't know, have an extra speak with a NPJ maybe ? ^^ How long do you think it will take to grind all the cards ?

So, the deadline is close now. Any news about how many teams did not submit a run yet ?

About longest video-recorded TAS, I can think of bisqwit's Chrono Cross TAS, else there is the FF9 100% TAS by Lil_Gecko with the first 12 hours recorded (out of something like 15~16 hours total), but he is currently redoing it on Bizhawk

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the save/load had an impact on the in-game time. One possible way to check it out on the PC version would be to have a save point on the last straight line before the level end, and see if you get the same time with and without spamming save/load on this straight line. Anyway, you should not rely exclusively on PC times when doing your comparisons (I mean, in this case it's clear that your movie is faster).

Is the first jump after the last switch really faster than walking ? Other than that, there is hardly any room for improvement since you are restricted by the jumping mechanic.

Good luck on this one. It's a shame that there is currently no TAS for any of the 3 first games, although I can easily understand why this is the case.

Well, I am not sure if "broken" is enough to describe this. You can't keep the speed after the first transition in Snow Go ?

Okay, it was just to be sure. By the way, you should start the next encodes after Ripper Roo, since it's not really relevant to show the same levels again and again.

At the end of the boss, aren't you losing some frames by starting the dance animation later ?

No, unfortunately a nitro jump doesn't increase the counter

I can only get items by jumping on enemies, it's just that I would have got crystals #220 to #223 instead of crystals #200 to #203

Link to video Doing this Tiny fight was pretty annoying, but at least it's done now.

I finally finished watching it, it was nicely done. One little suggestion I can see for future encodes (like, let's say, the 100% TAS) is to add the critical chance somewhere, because it wasn't always easy to see which character can crit and which can't.

Out of curiosity, how many time do you save by GO-abuse level 5 ? Because with your fast pace, it isn't obvious that it's faster to do so on this level.

Make sure you are loading the .cue file (not the .bin) and that you using the japanese BIOS to load it (scph5500.bin)

I am pretty sure I didn't lose any time on the title screen, but the difference may come from a different BIOS (or maybe a different Bizhawk version, although I doubt it).

Well, some things happened... Link to video I am assuming the gate clip isn't a thing apart from the third world gate, and that you can't do the gate clip the other way around (and it's most likely the case). I got crystals with IDs #221 to #224 at the cost of 1120 frames (~18,7s) and it "may" allow to defeat Tiny 1 wave earlier (~21s per wave) depending on how many jumps I can get per wave. If it isn't the case, I will have to redo everything from the bonus round... (except if I can hex edit the movie by cutting those 1120 frames, but I don't expect much from it)
