Aqfaq, is that a compliment? This game rocked when it was released. I don't like to mess with NES emulator, so I vote yes to see the video sooner :|

Funny. I didn't know people actually use this one. It is one of my favorites. I feel tempted to put it in my signature: "The result of this will be neither child nor shit."
Just now I noticed it should literally be child but to get a better understanding a baby is used. "To keep a school of silence" I don't know if other languages have a word for moping person not talking (back).

It's been a while since I last did my run. I have played other games and have to find motivation to continue this game. Espyo, I'm going to visit Portugal first time since '86 in Wednesday :)

These were for SNES Madou Monogatari, but spells could be same. http://www.rpgdl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=94166&sid=c1ed4ec622ee2b1a7335a89f5d7ce2e6 "Heedon - Sleep Spell. A wave of little sheep come dancing in a pink background around the enemy. This has a rate of about 50% to work, and it doesn't work on bosses. The enemy sleeps for a minimum of two turns and maximum of three turns (no Diacute applied). The Diacute spell also raises the chances of Heedon to work, but I don't think it ever reaches 100% chances to work... and it can't be stacked up with itself. This costs some MP." "Bayoen - Don't act Spell. A rain of flower petals fall, a trail of flowers reaches the foe and a flower circle ensnares the enemy, making him/her lose his action for the turn."

You could search hiragana and katakana tables if you wanted to translate on your own. These are the clearest I found in few seconds: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/japanese_hiragana.htm http://www.omniglot.com/writing/japanese_katakana.htm Of course I'll try to help if I'm around :)

If first and second screen is same sentence then: 1+2. "Yottsu no seki ni fuuinsareshi chikara wo kaihouseyo sareba michi wa akaren" Seal four jewels and release your power (And) If you leave a path will open. (If sareba comes from saru 去る) 3. DOREMIFAMIREDO 4. Are? Kono DOA akenaiyo What? This door won't open.

Good info mitchical! DarkKobold is busy with optimizing SF1 but this could speed up the SF2 project when it continues. I'd like to see your speedrun progressing :)

I found out this game about a week ago and tested today. Since you are doing this I don't continue my run even though it's fun to TAS. First two levels: http://www.freewebs.com/suklaalevy/files/megadrive/Tinhead%2D2lvl.gmv edit: Running is faster than jumping. Jumping over two or more ledges is faster than walking over them and falling.

You are crazy! :) Sorry but I haven't watched your Gods earlier, because I never thought a game with a boasting name could be any good. But you have done so much work with Gods, so it must be good. Waiting for your next update.

It is not the most interesting game, so there's always a chance it will get rejected, but I'd say go for it!
Thx Aqfaq! I thought the first comment would be like this, but it was fun to TAS :) You actually have to plan a little where to take damage to save time. I will wait for few more "Go for it" cheers before continuing. edit: Yeah, funny and irritating ending. "You chose wiiisely!"

I made a testrun (7:23): http://www.freewebs.com/suklaalevy/files/megadrive/indy.rar I improved the first stage by 7 seconds but it desynced after hex-editing. So, should I continue the improved version and submit it? Only the third level could be done a little faster. Enemies have 3hp. Punch does 2 damage. Whip does 3 damage if its full (6) 2 damage when it has 3-5 charges, and 1 damage when it has 1-2 charges. Whip reloads in 7:30 and the timer starts from beginning when used.

An Youtube user found a nice glitch in 2nd level in Snes version [@1:13+]. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd3QsUjX0hs I just can't duplicate it in Genesis version. http://www.freewebs.com/suklaalevy/files/megadrive/EarthwormJim%2DWIP.gmv This makes Snes version faster and it would obsolete my Genesis run in future :( Well, Snes has better graphics and sound too, but...

Surely losing ends the level faster but the fight against PsyCrow takes the gained time back with an interest.

http://www.freewebs.com/suklaalevy/files/megadrive/EarthwormJim%2DWIP.gmv edit: Improved every area of level 1 (compared to published run) and gained 8:47 :) And sub-levels with all blue orbs or aiming fastest time?

Sorry for bringing up such an old topic. I could improve this movie by about 48 seconds (in-game excluding Andy Asteroids) so would it be publish-worthy?

Given what the wonder boy run just did to the adventure island run, this submission is in imminent risk of getting obsoleted even if it is accepted, because it's a (much less popular) clone of the SMS game wonderboy 2. I have seen that page before, but didn't remember it this morning when replying. So, I would like to change my yes to meh instead.
