Here's the most recent WIP, including all answers for x20. Link to video I spent some time working on the delays before and after drawing. I wanted to leave a short pause after each drawing to give the audience some time to look at the picture, but not too long since those delays add up quickly when applied to 120 images. I think I found a sweet spot for the delay length, but let me know what you think. A few answers differ from the norm. There is an extra delay after the integral to make it seem like the game is calculating the answer. There is a long delay after the BSOD and also before the next screen to make it seem like TASBot rebooted. The video also includes the appearance of Raelcun's extra hair. There is a very long delay after the "Shut up and take my money" screen to give Raelcun time to read a donation that we will submit under the nickname of TASBot. Let me know what you think of the pacing and if anything needs changing. I also need some ideas/drawings for the name screen and birthday screens. Those are next and we don't have any suggestions yet.

Here's my edit of the shut up image: A few people including me think the money looks a little odd. I did a rough edit to see what it would look like if we made it white. Here's the result: Now TASBot's left arm looks a little odd. samurai goroh: maybe you can give it another shot? Here's a link to a static version of the above gif.

I like this idea. samurai goroh: any chance you can edit the current image of him to look like he does now, but in such a way that we can add back in the extra hair?

I worked on the Raelcun image a bit. Here's what I came up with: Thoughts? I figured this would lead into the next image where we tell him to shut up and take our money.

I love it! I really want to get the text to look something like this, where we add the caret and "donation" after the rest of the text is drawn. I'll try tweaking it to fit the rest of the text when I get a chance if you don't beat me to it. More excellent news on the DSBot: the proposal video syncs on console, and the current WIP mostly syncs! Enjoy: WIP AGDQ proposal I have some ideas about what happened with the failed answers and I'll try to sort them out in my next stream. Here's a few more photos:

I worked on the DSBot more and successfully got input streaming working! Here was my first test: Then I taught TASBot calculus: And some proof this was actually on a real DS:

After a short break I'm ready to get back to this project. Here's what I need done soon: Answer #18: Raelcun has agreed to be our host/donation reader during the TAS Block, so we'd like to reference him directly. I need someone to do a drawing of him. You can use this image as a reference. I'm thinking of having "Hi Raelcun!" or something similar at the bottom. Answer #19: I'm thinking of having the "Shut up and take my money" idea here. Since we can't use Fry from Futurama, I want to use TASBot instead. I would need someone to draw TASBot holding out an arm full of money just like the meme. People will still get the joke, and we'll avoid the copyright issue. Also if we arrange the text well we could include a carat and "donation" to change the text to say "Shut up and take my ^donation money". I'm not tied to this idea, so I'm also open to other ideas for this slot too. I'm still working on answer #14. I have the drawing finished, but because it involves so much animation it is taking me a while to finish the input. I'm planning to work on it tonight on stream.

For the error message, since the lines overflow, I think there should be a pause before each new line starts, while the pencil sound continues to go, no visible change is made on screen for about a second, then the next line starts. That way it looks like TASbot is continuing to write, but doesn't have the space to show what's being written. I think that would add a little authenticity. That said, I think this is great work. I like how it starts out answering the questions for real, too.
I thought about that too. I may play with the idea a bit, but the answer already takes almost 30 seconds to draw as it is and I'd rather not drag it out any longer. In other news, TASBot had an error

WIP Link to video I skipped over two answers (before and after the TASBot OS screen) because I didn't have those drawn up yet.

I swapped the last two lines of the error message. I think I am comfortable with it now.

micro500, what do you think of this Post #420788?
I didn't realize "pffff whatever" was an actual reference. I figured you just meant that we were sort of giving up on the problem, and at that point the game accepts our giving up as the answer. I'll admit I don't get the reference, so can you link to a video/videos that show what you're talking about? The thing is that xy2_ and I put in a lot of work getting that drawing to work the way it does. It would not be a simple task to just change the ? to the "pffff whatever" text. I'm inclined to leave it the way it is, unless others really want to see it changed.

such a short period of time
Note that we can edit the delay for the image for as long as we like. The plan is to let the BSOD on screen for significantly longer, as if TASBot had 'crashed'.
We will also be drawing it line by line so people will have time to read it as we write it. It won't all suddenly appear on screen at the same time requiring them to quickly read it before it goes away.

I like it a lot. And I have some kind of Terminator - or Robocop maybe - feeling with the font. After checking, I think it doesn't match either of those movies, but the feeling is still here, the font reminds me of what you would see in a movie when a robot analyses something in first person view. And now it just gave me a random idea... It could be a follow up to another "text picture" in the vein of: "Starting 'taking_over_all_humankind.exe' ... failed to launch: not enough memory Starting 'lethal_laser_eyes.exe' ... failed to launch: lasers not responding" It's just an example, I'm sure someone can come up with something better (and that can fit in the window ^^). The idea is that ROB tries to go rogue and that fails, leading to the "BSOD" picture. The one from feos would be my choice if there was a way to make it look, without a doubt and almost instantly, like a real BSOD (for example with an actual blue background). But since that can't be done with Brain Age, I also think it's more important to have something that is easily readable.
I really love this idea, but I'm not sure it would fit. TASBot's personality is of a more friendly tone. He has more of a confusion about humans, and just wants to complete all games as fast as possible. Having him attempt to take over humans would out of character. dwangoAC and I just talked it over on IRC and decided on how to arrange the last part of the x20 answers. TASBot will draw the scribbled answer as if he is getting frustrated that the game will take anything he draws, causing him to crash and blue (black) screen. He will then reboot, and during the boot up screen we'll display a message like "Gaining Sentience...". Then following the boot up we'll display another message that says "TASBot has recovered from a serious error". After that TASBot will greet the crowd, and will have "full control" over the game and what he draws. I'll update the script to include all that.

I tried making the font monospaced: You're limited by the size of the M, so I made each character column 15px wide. This of course means you can fit less text on screen.

I've tweaked it quite a bit. How is this?
I tweaked the R, V, M, and W. Here is my result: I wanted to tweak the B as well, but couldn't find a way to make it look much better than it already does. I think it may also help to try to make the font monospaced, if at all possible. I think that would help get the BSOD feeling across. Otherwise, great job on this font! Edit: Got the B to look good!

Here's my attempt at the BSOD using Weatherton's font: Edit: Tweaked the spacing a little to emphasize the error code more:

Can you please incorporate the text that appeared when I was trying to get Twitch chat going at AGDQ 2015? It was something like que? Over and over or some other copypasta. Maybe that would require its own question to do it justice...
I think that would be better saved for another question. We can make that part of the Twitch "Plays" Brain Age sequence.

Encode of the current WIP: Link to video Right now I have enough images to get me through question #12, but I will need someone to draw up a BSOD image soon. Here's a reference image if you need one. The error should start with "A problem has been detected...", with that text being cut off on the edge of the screen. Maybe mention an ERROR_MATH or something like that, and also include "TASBot" in the error message as well. If possible, I'd prefer it to be white text on a black background, but if that isn't doable that's fine.

I tried to make thicker lines but should had considered that straight lines (horizontal and vertical) can simple be left with 4 pixels, although sometimes the proportions of thickness doesn't look as good. I'll try to keep it in mind so you don't have much extra work when revising the images.
If the line needs to be thicker for artistic reasons, that's fine. Otherwise if you think a single line would work fine to, try to do that. There were a few spots in the Yetee drawing that changed it to a single pass didn't change it enough to ruin the image. Another thing I did was tweak the diagonal lines. Take a look at this comparison to get an idea of what I did: Removing that extra point makes the lines quicker to draw, and doesn't change the image much as long as you remove the point from the correct side of the line.

I'm loving these new images! As a test, I played around with the Yetee drawing to optimize some of the lines for Brain Age. Here's: the result: It isn't changed much, but a few lines are thinner to prevent needing extra passes. I will most likely be doing this to more pictures since it doesn't change the result too much.

For question #1, here's what I came up with: Link to video What do you think? Is that a good font? Is the drawing too slow? I wanted it to be slow and precise as if a robot was drawing it.
