What makes you think this "was" Bizhawk? I see nothing on the site hinting that.

Sorry for the double post. I feel like this had to be said. So far, progress on the TAS mod hasn't really gone anywhere. The person who offered to make the mod only really worked on a timer and started on either frame advance or recording. He's called on someone else to help with implementing savestates, but I have no idea what's going on at this point. Someone else has offered to make the mod. From here, I don't know what else is going to happen. I think we might team up with the other dev to get more work done, but I honestly don't know. I just felt this had to be said so there's at least some kind of update. EDIT: This is the idea we're going for. An editable timeline with bookmarks and stuff: EDIT2: We've decided to not go with the timeline idea because it was getting complicated to code, so we're going to make it similar to how most emulators do it. Without the timeline and with recording, savestates, and playback.

What this is is a kind of "pack" of emulation software with a main menu of sorts for choosing which emulator you want to run. It seems rather pointless tbh, since it seems like it's for more casual play anyway. That and you can get stable versions of the emulators on their respective sites. Also, it seems like it was just made to look cool :/

Link to the new unfinished version of the game or the TAS mod? Because the TAS mod isn't done yet

Recently, the creator of Mari0 released the beta for the next version: Mari0 SE (Special Edition). This beta is still buggy as all hell, so the stable release is Mari0 v1.6. Also as of recently, a modder on the site decided to make a TAS mod of 1.6 to allow savestating, frameadvance, input display (of some sort), movie recording and playback, and compatibility with all mappacks made with the regular, unmodded game. I'm doubting that movies made with this mod would be allowed on TASvideos though. The only problem would be recording to avi, though there's always Fraps

Hello‚ I would be really interested in TASing this game :D Since the last WIPs desync with 0.9.10‚ I began to redo the World 1‚ but I saw you talking about several tricks that I didn't fond any explanations for. So could you please answer some of my questions ? - What is the "shell-speed gaining trick" ? I understood this was something about holding a direction while wanting to go to the opposite‚ but how does it work ? - What is the trick with the fireball ? I didn't really understood‚ firing a fireball while jumping saves time ? - How does the RNG work ? I saw you talking about double jumps or something like that‚ but I didn't understand very well xD
I'd like an explanation on 1 and 3 too. The only fireball trick that I know of is that if you want to walljump to gain speed, it doesn't start you at running speed, but at a slightly lower speed. Shooting a fireball right when you walljump will start you off at a higher speed than just a walljump by itself, but still lower than dashing speed.

Oh man. Congrats everyone. We really did it this time. I fondly remember that one frame I pressed the jump button...

Is anyone still working on this? I finally got a new rig so I'd like to continue this project if anyone's up to help. The latest wip desyncs on DeSmuME 0.9.10 unfortunately, though I haven'tdone much else besides encode the movie with 0.9.8

Sorry for the 2-year bump. I had an idea with this where it'd work in a similar manner as the Scribblenauts TAS, where things are done in a humorous manner or done in the fastest possible. Maybe something like recreating famous glitches in game form with this, or something...?

When DSi games become a TASable, I would really like to work on a run of Shantae: Risky's Revenge. It's a sequel to the GBC game, Shantae. I feel like this game has some potential.

I made an encode of the first WIP a while ago if it's okay for me to link it.

If you guys are interested in TAS'ing this game again and want to collaborate, you're welcome to join. There's also a few people on youtube (I don't know if they have accounts here) who are also planning on TAS'ing the 100%, maybe we can get a group going. If not, you're more than welcome to keep pointing out improvements, the sooner, the better.
I'll see what I can do. my issue is having a crap computer, so the emulator will be slow, and having a bunch of individual WIP dsms would be troublesome to me. I guess I can just try out some strats for other levels or something...

What exactly do you want to know about this? I'm sure just jumping on the first possible frame would allow for a double jump, unless you mean something else that is...

Well, I gotta say, this looks amazing so far. Along with everything LBY said, I noticed you ground pound on two columns of bricks at once instead of just one in 1-1 and 2-2 for the Star Coins. I'm sure destroying only one column would be faster than two. I understand for 1-1, but 2-2 seems like you could only destroy one column and move on from there. I have a feeling that you did that for a reason or you just didn't know :P

That Portals only thing sounds really interesting. I'd like to see that. Too bad Hourglass doesn't support this game :/

I mean, most of the portals I placed in the video were pretty pointless anyway, and I think actual use of the portals would be more entertaining than randomly placing them.

Though if this was TASed, the portals couldn't be placed that fast. Just putting that out there. The only reason it came out so fast there was because of bullet time, which would keep the portal delay in "real time" while playing it slowly.

Welp, the creator of the game has plans on releasing a new version of this game with many more features for map creation, but has it on haitus. So it's stuck on v1.6. I've been fooling around with the game's bullettime "cheat", and This is one of the results that came out (apologies if this doesn't belong here) Link to video

http://stabyourself.net/mari0/ This game just got released yesterday. Basically, this a recreation of the original Super Mario Bros., but Mario has a portal gun. The game is completely free. There are a few bugs in the game, but the creator is working on getting those fixed.

New Super Mario Bros 100% WIP Here's a 100% WIP I made a while ago on Desmume 0.9.6 with Advance Bus Timing off. It goes to the second star coin in 1-4. I tried out some new ideas I had concerning the route in this run. I'm not working on this right and if I ever continue, I'll probably restart on 0.9.7 because of improvements that can be made, but for now, here it is!
This run was amazing so far. I'm impressed with how many tricks you were able to juice out of this so far actually, especially with the shells. The shells blew my mind. There were a few little spots you could've improved, like wall-jumping off the left wall in the secret area in the first tower and a few other things. If you ever do continue this, Y05H1 and I would actually be happy if you could collaborate with us in this run.
