Yes, that happens with some games at least... That behavior may be what Dromiceius was referring to when he wrote this in the Google Code issues list:
-Stated.cpp says something like "everything causes frame advancing." This is true, and undesirable.
I think MAME works like this too. Unfortunately, this will require someone much more experienced in emulator programming than me to fix it.

Sorry, I don't know what may be causing your freeze... I use UPX to compress the files before uploading a new release.

fba-rr-v003c.7z fba-rr-v003c-src.7z Just a quick update to fix this bug: "Setting "save current slot" or "load current slot" to E or Q doesn't seem to do anything."; and another minor one: "Record AVI dialog - default name is only first letter of game."

That's right. You don't have nasmw installed.

I'm wondering why people abbreviate "Re-recording" to "RR" all the time. [...] I think either "-R" or "-r" is sufficient.
Well, in the case of PCSX is not, because there already exist PCSX Revival and PCSX-Reloaded which even have very similar URLs (http://code.google.com/p/pcsx-r/ and http://www.codeplex.com/pcsxr).

BTW, I'm always wondering whether we should start FBA-S-rr, VBA-M-rr etc.
FBA-S-rr is not worth it, in my opinion. It's based on a really really old version of FBA. VBA-M-rr may be nice; Mudlord was supposed to add rerecording to it, since he said he really liked TASes, but then he (for the most part) left the team some time ago...

One of the most entertaining TASes I've seen so far. A lot of cool and unbelievable glitches throughout the whole movie and just the right amount of fights. In my opinion, this one is even better than the already published and also excellent TAS of Mortal Kombat II. I will surely give this a 10 in Entertainment when it gets published.

This is by far the best TAS of a fighting game I've seen. Amazingly entertaining. Thanks for sharing this; you should submit it as soon as you can. :D

Maybe you don't have the DirectX SDK? Try installing this and see if that helps: dx80_mgw.zip.

some clue to fix this?
Well, there's a syntax error in line 278 of Win32/pcsx.rc, you may want to see what's there and fix it or just comment it out, as I always do when I find about an error. :P The good news is that it compiles all of the code (somewhat) fine; the bad news is that you can't compile the resource file (dialogs, icon, etc) with your version of windres. :/ Try changing/disabling things on the error line of that .rc file and see if you can make it work.

It's a common myth that it's a myth that he did the music for Sonic 3.  ;) Anyone familiar with the music of him, wouldn't even doubt about Michael Jackson being involved at some point with Sonic 3's soundtrack. But if you want some facts to draw your own conclusions, read this great article by Sega-16: Sega Legends: Michael Jackson & Sonic 3.

You can compile PCSX and any of its plugins using GCC v4.x.x or v3.x.x, and MSVC 2005 or newer. You should use the source code from the SVN, since it has some changes by adelikat and others that make it much easier and faster to compile. It should compile for Linux with some minor changes, since the -RR changes are very few and PCSX was originally working on Linux too.

It already supports "multiple CD switching", though it doesn't seem to work very well. :D I think for v0.1.0, I (or anyone else) should use PCSX-R, since that version already has built-in ISO loading and disc switching. We should call it PCSX-RRR v0.1. Or... Maybe this time the next version of pSX is about to be released for real, since a few days ago pSX Author appeared again on his forums, after a couple of years of no one knowing anything about him:

What I'm trying to do is that I'm trying to load a movie in 0.0.7, but upon doing clicking "Movie Playback" is comes up with an error and freezes. 0.0.9 works, but it dosen't take any controller input whatsoever. 0.0.6 does neither. I know that a few of you (pirate_sephiroth, arukAdo) have told me things to help, but it isn't working. Anyone else have suggetions?
That crash in v0.0.7 was a known issue that was fixed in later versions. There's nothing you can do about it, only upgrade. About the controller input, read this or try a different pad plugin.

Comparing them to NES emulators, I would say 1964 is like Nestopia and Mupen64 is NESticle. 1964 is, in my opinion, by far the best Nintendo 64 emulator available. As I understand, Mupen was only selected for this site because it already had input recording, avi capture and a Linux port. If anyone wants to add TASing features to 1964, he'd have to start from the beginning, and Windows only. I had already suggested this emulator here.

The reason for both problems (as far as I can tell; I can't actually run the program) is that you patched over "nConfigMinVersion" so that the emulator thinks all config files are outdated and ignores them.
Oops, I see. Thanks for finding that. I've uploaded a new build with that fix: fba-rr-v003b.7z. I'll try to work on the other issues when I have more free time.

I don't know. Maybe the option Dromiceius changed to ignore SRAM, also ignores input config?

Changing the speed (to 5% or whatever) is absolutely broken. blip added this functionality in the most possibly hackish way, and it should be disabled if there's ever another version of FBA-RR.

I don't know why, but when i try to make a TAS in this emulator (FBARR v0.0.3) there is a lot, i mean A LOT of desyncs for me, even the movies that i make in FBARR v0.0.2 desyncs in this emulator... and the in FBARR v0.0.2 works fine for me, desync is rare in this emulator for me...
In v0.0.3 most drivers have been rewritten a lot since v0.0.2, especially the savestate handling, so it's possible that there are games that work worse than before or games that work better now. Also, it's always helpful to know which game you're testing. FBA is something like ~1000 different emulators in one.

Yes, it should be. v0.0.3 was released _after_ the emulator was accepted in this site...

This movie indeed only syncs with a very old ROM dump. I think this one may be from FBA v0.2.96.72 (the most popular release and the final one on the old official website) since most ROM sites seem to only have this set when you search for "fba roms" on Google. josh l. also used this really old set for his Willow movie here, and that movie also desyncs if you try to play it using the newest ROM set. Anyway, I give this movie a Yes. :P I can confirm it syncs with v0.0.3; it only needs an old dump to work. EDIT: Er... Forget what I said, that dump is exactly the same as the newest one. :P The only difference is that I put it inside an empty ROMs\ subfolder now... Weird. I'll investigate later; football now. :D
