I don't think it's worth it to try and explain the difference (if any) between "Speed run" and "time attack" to everyone who's already inferred that the two terms mean the same thing. Differentiating between "Time attack" and "timeattack" is about ten or twenty times more confusing. Just my two bits.

Advice: Watch my run of the Genesis version. Note that you can't walk through walls like I can, so you'll have a lot more running around to do. Also check out my frame counts: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=452&highlight=

Also mixing the files is interesting, did you know that Sonic completes GH1 using the Quackshot gmv file? (completely irrelevant sorry).
Hee. I watched that. It's funny watching him mess with the spikes. It also works in Sonic 2, and he gets a 1-up in the first level as well as finishing it. Lots of wheel-spinning there, though.

Isn't this game identical to either the NES or Genesis versions?

I like what you did in the last level, dropping the boulder from up top. I try to do that a lot myself (with mixed results). So, anyway, very yes.

Sound at 22050 did it. I like it. I really do.

I think the correct answer to any question like this is always "Both." There were a lot of things (both gameplay and graphics) that we were willing to put up with in the early days that now seem like sloppy programming.

I guess that would make me the third person to play this game, as well as being interested in a run. Sadly, it also desyncs for me in the second area of the first level.

That's clever. What's even more fun is breaking your shield repeatedly and rolling the score over backwards. :D

It's not a site per se, but you want the DC++ hub on Smashboards. Try this.

Any particular reason it's two minutes slower than this rejected run?

Let's see... I first got hooked on anime watching Sailor Moon at 6:30 AM (about ten years ago). Moved on to the original Dragonball and DBZ. I quit watching DBZ seriously during the Android saga. I wouldn't say it's a bad show but it no longer holds my attention. I've only seen the first season of the original Dragonball but I liked it. After that it was Slayers. I like it but I refuse to ever see another Slayers movie again; they're all exactly the same, I swear. Then it was Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, two of my favorite shows to this day. Most recently I've really enjoyed Read or Die, Bleach, Air, and Naruto.

I just tried it out. No dice, chief, unless you can make a .gmv that does it.

You can completely skip that level going forward without caring about the dog.
No. No, you can't. He gets angry, chases after you at supersonic speeds, and chews you up as he drags you back to where he died.

Some of the parts look like they can be done faster, (for instance, in your previous video you did the major in the 3rd time before you reached the Guck.)
This is not the WIP that has its own topic in the forums; this run is done on Hard, not Normal. I approve wholeheartedly.

If you have a shield and armor it's visible.

It's one of the many many games I might possibly eventually get around to doing once I finish my current projects. The Genesis version is identical to the SNES version, right? My only two notes are to get the good swords as soon as possible and abuse the downward stab.

Gorf was an old old game, pre-dating the NES, that was for C64 (and probably many others, but I played it on a C64). It was in the style of Space Invaders, and had four repeating stages; the first was a typical Space-Invaders style, and the last was a big flagship that you had to whittle away at.

Oopsie. I figured it out. Stupid six button controller starting me off as Beast (how bizarre).
