Clock tower early takes 4 chus max. http://youtube.com/watch?v=dV_GOBnl8dA Anyways, since I've located the game timer's memory address, or at least enough of it to get an accurate reading of what time it is, we can know exactly what time it is when we enter the tower. BTW, the address is 00ADB0FE (or rather, mupen64-rerecording.exe+6DB0FE. It's right before the start menu stuff). I haven't quite worked out how the whole thing is stored, as I haven't found where it stores the day yet. Also, it's a bit unclear what kind of integer it's being stored as. It's clearly linked to 00ADB0FF, so it's at least a short integer, but I'm not sure whether it's linked to others as a long integer or what. But I know enough about it to get an accurate time reading, and that's what matters. So, the main route differences would be... *More rupees available and trips to the bomb shop cost comparatively less time. This will allow for much more bombchu hovering. *Stone Tower will be done either first or right after Woodfall, depending on whether we split Woodfall. This is because we'll want the Light Arrows for Goht, and once we have the 3 masks, arrows, and hookshot, we have everything we need for Stone Tower. *Lullaby Skip will not be used. It saves real time because of all the cutscenes and area trasitions it skips, but none of those count against game time. *Only two bottles are collected. This is because the ranch bottle comes too late and the Beaver Race bottle takes so long that it's better to make the extra Fortress and Pinnacle rock trips. *No Gilded Sword. The reasons for this should be obvious, but it will make Twinmold slower. *No time cost for mask switching means it will be done a lot. Mostly for Goron Rolling. *And most obviously, no using the Song of Time means no Goron Mask first. This also means that we'll have the Hookshot and Zora Mask before Woodfall. So, do you guys think this could work as a separate TAS?

As long as we're talking about other runs, would a least game time run be accepted alongside the real time run? Incidentally, for some reason I'm suddenly thinking of Super Metroid..

Now I just need to experiement with the endless inventory glitch to see if I can get the items I need (glitch all badges item, walk through walls item). Additionally, Alakazam glitched to level 100 seems like an ideal candidate for the Ditto glitch setup.
Endless inventory glitch? Ditto glitch? Please explain; I think I've missed something.

I get the same problem, and I too am wondering how to fix it. BTW, do you get some message about how an "exception has occured" when running Jabo's 1.6? That's another thing I've been trying to figure out.

3 questions: 2)How many bombchus can I carry maximum? Is there a limit? Is that limit different from childhood to adulthood? 3) Best spots to get deku sticks other than near deku tree and/or shops? I'm at work. Again! On a saturday night. (>.<)
2) the bombchu limit is 50. 3) There's a pot in Goron City and one in Zora's domain that have a deku stick in them. Do those 20 rupee chest pits have Deku Babas in them in this game or is that just MM?

Now low% Majora's Mask... THAT would be interesting. I mean, who doesn't want to see a TAS of Twinmold sans Giant's Mask?

The odd potion also gives you the Song of Time. Catch a bug with it on C-right to get all 3 stones and the song of time instantly. BTW, everyone, it's the Odd Potion, not the Odd Mushroom, that gives you spiritual stones.

Here's one. Find an a bijective map from the real numbers to a subset of the real numbers that has no interior points.
Let F be the Cantor Ternary set and let f be the cantor ternary function. Then g=tan(pi*(f(x)-1/2)) is a one-to-one map of the Cantor Ternary set to the real numbers. Since the complement of the Cantor Ternary set is dense, the Cantor ternary set has no interior points, and thus g is the desired function.

Or: Show that any polygon can be subdivided into a number of parts that can be rearranged to form a circle.
Need these parts be measurable? If not, we can do basically anything. Need these parts be finite in number? If so, there is no possiblility. Need these parts be countably infinite? If not, we simply rearrange all the points individually. However, if we require countably many measurable parts, then I'm not so sure.

You need to use one of the compression schemes if you want to record for more than a minute at a time. I reccomend Xvid at maximum quality (about 10000 kbps). If you don't have Xvid, you can download it for free somewhere (I don't know where, but a google search should do the trick). Anyways, once you have that file, open it in Virtualdub and recompress it to a more manageable size. 384 kbps should be good for most applications. Also, you've done a 16-star run on the N64 version in about 17 minutes? You should be able to beat the one on SDA then http://speeddemosarchive.com/Mario64.html here's the thread for that particular run http://speeddemosarchive.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=consoles_older;action=display;num=1197185617

Well, then we should probably get that source code, as recorded resets simplify things immensely (at least in MQ). Plus, with no need to deathwarp, we can get rid of the low health alarm in most situations.

Could anyone give me a savestate for MQ with Spirit and Shadow medallions, preferrably with light arrows and the bridge already in place, but without any of Ganon's Castle completed? If not, it won't take too long to get there, but if someone already has a state it would certainly save me time.

Two Questions about Master Quest: -Is the Slingshot Skippable (and is it practical to skip it)? -and do you need to do RBA on the letter in a bottle before you give it to Kind Zora or is there a different C item that gives arrows? Thanks
-No, It's absolutely needed in Jabu Jabu. -Letter in the Bottle is the ONLY item, so we must do RBA before King Zora.

That is old. I found a more useful one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy5gJMsKapM do super flips even while in hover mode.
err, it was sort of obvious that you could do mega flips with the sword glitch on, as the glitch in no way prevents you from backflipping, nor is it cancelled when you get pushed back from damage. I applaud you for finding a use for it, though.

I'm fairly certain that wouldn't work out. On cycle 2, we wouldn't have the Sonata, and on cycle 3, by the time night of the 3rd day rolls around, we'll be past the point where it's needed. Further, there's a LOT of cutscene associated with that bottle, so I really don't think it could be faster. Note that you don't need the hookshot, though. Some clever jumping can get you over that gap.

I question how not supersliding would be faster over most distances. Since you can wait out the bomb timer by backwalking, and backwalking isn't that much slower than sidehopping, it seems like supersliding would be faster for just about any significant straight-line distance in the overworld.
yeah but for shorter distances (look at the hyrule castle section in the old run), it's a waste of explosives that could be used later. If you look at the run, there are a few places that he could not superslide longer distances than those on the castle grounds due to having used up the bombs. I think.
Well, obviously if you need the bombs elsewhere then don't do it. On the other hand, bombs shouldn't be that hard to manipulate as drops, and any time you are sliding across hyrule field you could try to aim a swordslide through a grass patch. With proper manipulation, should be instant 20 bombs.

Something very similar to that was the route before the hover glitch's discovery. It has its ups and downs, but the current route is considered to be faster.

It appears the first start press comes too early. Oh, and BTW, Mukki, are you using regular Mupen or Anti-DS Mupen?

The route posted a few pages back looks interesting. I ran it through on Mupen and everything worked well except that I ended up with Cojiro instead of the Odd Mushroom after becoming an adult. This meant I needed to go all the way to the Lost Woods and trade it for the mushroom to continue with the route. Anyone know why this happens? I remember hearing something about deku nuts affecting something but I'm not sure if that's the problem.
You must have saved after becoming an adult. Saving resets the Odd mushroom to Cojiro. It's a pain for the UAS, as you have to do the whole thing in one segment. In the TAS, the only time you'd segment is to deathwarp, which we don't need to do between when we get the mushroom and when we give it to the hag.

yeah, although for some reason you still get the Ikana scientist's scene even though you don't have the Gibdo Mask. I suspected this might be the case, as Nintendo certainly never expected you to skip the Gibdo Mask, but I would think they would use the same programming as all the other mask-related segments of the ending.

So, are we using about the same route as the MQ run over at SDA? Obviously, the savewarps in SDA's route will be either removed or replaced with deathwarps, but there's one place you can't do that. Right after you get the Bombchus from JJB, you have to savewarp out of that room to avoid climbing up the vines and talking to ruto. However, since you still have a bottled fairy, you can't deathwarp as you need it to skip the red slimy thing. So, it seems we have 3 options 1) get someone to implement a recorded reset feature 2) find a way to get a fairy in the first/second room of the dungeon 3) eat the time lost from the Ruto scene So, which seems most reasonable? For 2, if you take enough damage, you might be able to get the octorok/a biri/one of the plants to drop a fairy

The mega flip, in either MM or OoT, can you activate the infinite glitch before hand, then do a megaflip over a huge gap, then mid air drop a bombchu to get you stuck in mid air, where you can continue to bomb/chu hover the rest of the way?
You can't Mega Flip in MM, so that's irrelevant. In OoT, it appears you are moving too quickly and end up too far away from the explosion, so it's looking like a no on both accounts. Darn, too, as that would have been really nice...
