http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xVjo2qMTyc http://youtube.com/watch?v=7bU-Kf2Slog How could it not be possible? You don't even need Nayru's for it. Unless he won't have bombs then, then it won't really work. Still, I don't see the advantage of Jabu's before Dodongo's.

Guano will not be posting a WIP for a while at least until he completes Jabu, as nothing will differ much from what we've seen before. After watching the previous submission I would have to question a few things about the route. 1. Would not getting the mushroom as YL be benificial (*) 2. Would getting Epona right away as AL be of any good 3. When the poachers saw is obtained, using the bomb boosts to escape to the bridge in the LW would almost certainly be faster * Basically you could get Epona as soon as Link becomes an Adult, head for Gerudo , get caught and then bomb hover to the mushroom. While distances might seem somewhat large, remember that vast distances can be traversed very quickly with Epona.
sorry, but that chest has a heart piece in it as an adult. BTW, why exactly do we get magic as an adult? we're right there as a child, and in the last run he could have deathwarped back to the temple of time immediately after getting the medallions.

Camera angles at the beginning could have been better, but otherwise great. I can only assume another improvement is being worked on as we speak...

The Majoras-Mask run desynchs also in the beginning... (after that old witch tells the storys to get to the 3rd day... He left the house... and enters the East part... then he runs back and directly in the corner... and stays there and just make shit^^")
Use Rice's 6.0.0. I know that's not the plugin Mukki used to make the TAS, but at the moment, it's the only known plugin to work for everyone.

Eh, whatever, so it's just a semantic technicality. At this point, I agree with Twelvepack. We've gotten fairly off topic... Anyways, on topic, given the poll results and the sentiments in the thread, how likely is it that this run will get published?

Shouldn't you say something like 'btw, it's not "argumentation", the correct word is "argument"'? The way you worded that sentence makes it sound like you were offended by me using the wrong word.
No, messages are made at people's own discretion, there is no style guide here. However, argumentation was the correct word anyway. On the other hand, I can't say that I've heard about "unoptimizations" before :P That sounds like something one would do deliberately.
No it wasn't. Though I was wrong in my belief that argumentation was not a word (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentation), the correct word there was argument anyway. Argumentation refers to a system of analyzing arguments, while an argument is a series of statements that attempt to show that a certain premise leads to a certain conclusion. Thus, "the slippery slope" is an argument, not an argumentation.

I'm voting meh. There were a lot of good things, but there were some very obvious unoptimizations, and that odd mushroom thing at the door was simply unexcusable. In a speedrun, maybe, but a TAS? Unacceptable. Still, it was entertaining, so I'm torn. Thus, the "meh" vote. Also Basically you are saying that since movies with known minor improvements have been published, then *any* movie (faster than the previous publication) should be published regardless of how large the known improvements are. That's exactly slippery-slope argumentation, something you wanted to avoid in the first place. Uh, not quite. A slippery slope argument is of the form "If we do A, it will lead to B, which will...*insert as many links as necessary*..., which will lead to C, which we all can agree is bad. It's not a very sound argument, unless you can logically support every link in the chain, and your opponent has to agree that C is, in fact, bad. Fabian is actually making the opposite of the slippery slope argument, arguing that we SHOULD go down the slope. Lastly, please never use "argumentation" again. The word is argument.

Excellent work. I didn't think that pirate boat thing had a use. I think I'll use that in my speedrun... Anyways, the seamwalk method will probably be necessary, as that thing I posted was only if you had enough chus, which I don't think you will. I look forward to the Great Bay and Stone Tower temples. They're the pinnacle of the TAS.

One thing I've noticed is that when recording long segments, the sound tends to desync from the video (usually it falls behind). Is there any way to rectify this currently or would that require a new feature?

For example, the many failed superslides that the runner didn't bother to correct. Taking the Odd Mushroom out before reaching the counter. Pulling on a bomb flower in Dodongo's Cavern when there was no reason to do so.
While I'm not sure about the Odd Mushroom, the bomb flower was for the Sword Glitch IIRC, and the "failed" superslides were because the runner apparently didn't realize that superslides also skip owl texts, as they come from the same glitch as the ground jump. If you're wondering how I know this when I couldn't get it to sync, the run desynced for me on the way to Gerudo Fortress for the second time with Jabo's 1.6. Anyways, are there any plans to avify this anytime soon?

Could someone make an avi of this? I can't get it to sync with any graphics plugin, even Jabo's 1.6.

Yeah, Jabo's 1.6 seems to give the best graphics for MM, but for some reason, it won't sync. Such a shame, too, as Jabo's 1.6 would have made an excellent avi when this gets submitted.

Oh, I see. That explains the desync. Although it's not really against the rules, as at the time it was made there was no other way. But then how do we rectify the desync?

When I tried it, it desynced when creating the file. And I know about the usual desync there, it's just that it did it EVERY time, instead of just the first. Seems like that new thing still needs work. I could watch it on the other Mupen64 I have, so no problems. Mukki, excellent work. It just gets better from here, too, with GBT and Stone Tower coming up. Anyways, on the subject of Stone Tower, I finally got this to work. I'm not sure if it's faster than the current route, but it's something to test, and it looks awesome. http://youtube.com/comment_servlet?all_comments&v=WRWjcrquVoA

Oh, I see. Well, maybe. I'll have to check this out... EDIT: That's a no. I tried every weapon; only Zora Boomerangs, Zora Barrier, and Fierce Deity Beams can hurt him.

yes, this problem is present on console, and you CAN reload if you screw up. Copy it to the other slot, then copy it back after you try it. It's the whole basis for MM seg'd runs. Plus, that doesn't change the fact that if you turn off the console, you lose the timer no matter what, and after an owl statue save, that is your most likely course of action. The reason I bring this up is because I'm doing a speedrun and I've run into this problem after saving at the Mountain Village Owl with a bottle of HSW.

For the record, an interrupt save is an owl statue save. Save states work perfectly.

K, so I found the memory address and some of the problem. Everything works fine when loading the save, except the timer drops immediately to zero when loading. At this point, I'm baffled, but if anyone else can come up with something, I'd be happy to hear it.

I'm having an interesting problem with the game. It doesn't seem to properly save Hot Spring Water when you use an interrupt save. If you reload the save immediately after you make it, it works fine, but otherwise, the HSW cools immediately after you load the file. Any suggestions on how to fix/get around this? EDIT: Also, is there an emulator that would allow me to watch memory addresses? That would probably help.

I'm pretty sure the Cascadebadge gave you the ability to Cut and Thunderbadge (or w/e Lt. Surge's badge is) gave you ability to Fly. Does that change anything?

BTW, try other versions of Rice's if that doesn't work. Most people here seem to get the best results with 6.1.0, but I can only get it to sync with 6.0.0, so you may want to try both if you haven't already. Incidentally, even though Mukki made this with Jabo's 1.5.2, it desyncs for me with that plugin.
