Unfortunately, he only appears after beating Red.

Brock would be pretty bad with Pika, but since the Mew glitch still works, it should be about the same as Red/Blue after Mt. Moon. Although I'm not sure if the poke doll trick works in Yellow, which changes things quite a bit.

No, flying zora can't gain height, much to my disappointment. The reason this is a point of contention is that we want this to be the fastest possible, and so we need to figure out which option is faster.

I just tested this out on my actual gameboy and was able to catch a level 100 Mew and a level 100 Nidoqueen, both in Cerulean city. Mew really isn't any good unless you teach it TMs because it only knows Pound. Also, Nidoqueen didn't start with or learn Thrash (it knew Body Slam though, if that helps), but it did have a decent amount of moves.
Nidoking learns Thrash, not Nidoqueen.

you do have the option of filling the time by going to the Ikana canyon Owl statue before the ranch, but it's slower than going back and using the SoDT.

Hmm... That would work. But I don't think Mukki's going to like the idea of having to go back and redo the entire night of the first day if this is necessary.

Even better: You don't need to arrive until about 3:00 or so, as you only need to get there before one gets to the barn. That could be very interesting, actually, as Mukki could arrive with only a few frames to spare if timed right. However, the Beaver race bottle has a distinct advantage in that it can be gotten at any time in the cycle, while the Ranch bottle has a very small time window. If the ranch bottle comes out to be incompatible with the route (unlikely, but there is a small possiblity), the Beaver race bottle will have to be substituted for it.

It all looked good...and it actually completely played without desynching. Rice's video plugin works really well. I didn't see any glaring errors; you looked very good. I especially liked your touch of jumping over the Gerudo sentry boat.

While Fuuin (Hard) would be interesting as well, shouldn't you have said Thracia SSS rank? ;) I'd personally love to see Seisen, but the best I could do a while ago was sub-8 (I think)...with heavy glitching. I'm getting off-topic though, so no need to mind me.
I'd like to see those, too. Although would the English translation patches be used, or would that not be allowed on the site?

Ok, progress has been pretty good on this. I'm now in Mountain Village so expect a WIP before the end of the weekend. *fingers crossed* EDIT -- Expect a WIP tommorow...or perhaps Thursday. I managed to fix Mountain Village and the desyncing drop manipulation on the path to Snowhead so I should be trying to get into the dungeon tonight and tomorrow.
I assume you're going to post the WIP before attempting Snowhead w/o Lullaby, as you really don't want to do that and then have someone notice a mistake earlier in the run. Or did I totally miss a posted WIP?

Does the mine glitch still work in FE8? Although, come to think of it, can the mine glitch be done on emu? Also, has anyone considered a TAS of FE6?

Mine desynced at the chest in the Floormaster room in FT.

There's more than enough time to jumpslash and set up the sword glitch before PG even comes out of the first picture. Although it does waste a bomb.

Well, I think you can speed up the Garo Master fight, as Deku nuts are the best way to stun him.

No. You simply cannot stick to any place on that ramp like you can in other places on the mountain. The place I start hovering from is the farthest you can still stick to the edge, and the place I stick to once I'm up is the earliest you can stick while on the path. Backwalking and hovering up at the last second when starting the hover could reduce bombchu consumption, come to think of it. EDIT: Here's the method you should use when hovering around Snowhead Temple (alternating between bombs and chus). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgF8YWsvWI4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQPCTxVWKvQ There you go. I think that's a minimum as far as bombchus go, although you'll want to blow up the snowball with a hover chu (didn't think of that until after I made the movie). Unfortunately, I'm not sure how this will affect the counts and rupees. The best way would be to try to minimize consumption and I can adjust the route afterward.

Oh, yes. He should just blast the snowball out of the way with a bomb. Further, once snowballs are destroyed, they don't respawn. I'll get a video of going around the back tomorrow. I'm busy tonight.

It turns out that it is possible to take the back way around. It may or may not be easier on the explosives, I'll look into this more.

Well, I'm not entirely sure if you'll need any, come to think of it. In a speedrun, they're used in Woodfall to stun the Lizafos for a quick kill from a Deku Stick jumpslash. If we use that strat, you'd only need one of each. However, Deku nuts also make the Garo Master go faster, and you'd need 3 there. So it looks like we should have at least 4 Deku nuts and 1 Deku stick

Could someone post a savestate right before the first Stalfos fight in FT? It desyncs for me right there.

Yes it will. Anyways, one issue with the new WIP. You switch to the Deku Mask too early. You can get closer to the bank before switching. Otherwise, excellent work. Also, here's the hover break you wanted a video of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO9f4JN3KjI

1) I'm all out of magic - It lasted just as long as it needed to, but it's a while before I need any more. I'll try and pick some up if it's on my way. NOTE -- All the bushes in Woods of Mystery gave only rupees, I couldn't manipulate anything else. 2) Running low on health - The Boat Cruise skip has left me with very little health (One heart). I think I have just enough to Goron Bomb Jump, but after that I'll need to find another heart somewhere if I want to get into Great Bay. 3) If I use a bomb to mid-air superslide over the Dekus blocking the way will this affect the route? I imagine I can pick up more bombs easily at Snowhead, but I thought I should ask to make sure...
1) Most owl statues have Magic pots near them. Only CT, Woodfall, and South Swamp don't. 2) You did just get a Red Potion, didn't you? You'll have to drink that before Pirate's Fortress, anyway. 3) You can either Luck manipulate a bomb out of the rolling snowballs in Snowhead Access or get some out of the pots behind the laboratory. This will give you +5 bombs, so feel free to use the extra 4 as you see fit (ie, superslides).

Hmm, I tried hovering up to the chest, but I can't open it. perhaps I'm in the wrong place. Here's a screenshot. Maybe I need to get higher...

You can do it in 9, and possibly eight, if you go near the wall opposite the tree. The cutscene trigger is much closer to the loading zone there. I haven't managed to do it in eight, but it may be possible. BTW, you'll have to either do it in 9 or abandon the superslide here, as the route calls for only 10 explosives to be used (it says 10 bombchus, but it should say 1 bomb, 9 bombchus). The extra chu(s) should be used in place of bombs when hovering in Woodfall.
