I think I'm pounding with them... Also, for a Scarecrow's song, assuming it accepts sharps/flats, how about... C>, Z+Cv, C>, C>, C<, Z+C^, C^, ^+C^ ^ is up on the analog stick. the rest is self-explanitory. If you don't know what it is, try playing it.

petrie, the fastest Odolwa fight would consist of an arrow to stun, 2 spin attacks, then a quick slash ASAP.
Yeah, but I still haven't worked out how to quickspin on emulator. And the video does get the basic concept across. Incidentally, how DO you quickspin on emu?

The biggest reason I'm not doing it is the desync problem. This game desyncs like there's no tomorrow. If there weren't that, then I would probably do it. Especially now that I've got super sliding down.

Well, here are some things that should be good for the TAS. Fast Odolwa fight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2VK6vWGceQ and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTGg42gfrms

I ran into some similar problem when I was doing it and when I was doing the GBT TAS. And the things that make the physics so abusable are that the shield blocks bomb blasts and that there are no hover boots. The OoT programmers had to protect against hover boot skips, so things have gaps with that in mind. MM has no hover boots, meaning gaps are generally shorter, rooms more intricate, and the hover glitch is much more abusable. The shield blocking bombs makes the glitch go so much faster and easier. Oh, and Goron Link jumping on command and the changed jump physics also add to the abusability, I suppose.

Well, I suppose there is no timely way to do it. Still, any way would be worthwhile for low% or least game time. And jumpslashes are just as good as sword spins when timed right. And no, I'm still not going to. Aside from the inordinate amount of trouble with desyncs MM seems to have, deep down, I just don't really want to. Sorry.

Actually, you can get across all of the invisible Ice platforms as a Deku. The problem is that the Goron Mask requires the Song of Healing. You also forget Boss warps, which remove any transformation you have. Unfortunately you can't get to any of them in the first cycle, but similar things may exist. For example, what about the warp at the end of the Deku Scrub race? I realize it's also inaccessible at the moment, but it will be if we find a way for Deku Link only to get past the octos. Basically, any cutscene that forces your shape can be used here. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many convenient ones. Just the 4 boss warps and the Song of Healing learning scene. Oh, and Zurreco, if you don't have the magic meter, it acts like you have infinite magic. All magic things work with infinite capacity except bubbles and sword spins, which don't work at all. There must be a way. There's been a way fro everything else...

I think we should look into skipping the magic meter. While we lose the bubbles and the magic sword spins, we skip having to get it and get infinite magic for the rest of the game. Now, as far as how to skip it, we need to somehow get out of Deku form. After that, simply throw a bomb at Skull Kid to get the Ocarina. However, there is currently no known way to get out of Deku form without the Deku Mask. Of course, there is no known way of doing anything until a way is discovered... I'd say the first place to look is cutscenes that force you from one form to another. Anyone know of any? Lastly, is there a way to convert PJ64 save states into Mupen64 states?

The same thing happened to me with the Princess' cutscene. I think it's a problem with gln64, as I don't think Jabo's has that problem.

It is impossible for doing Woodfall in one go to be faster. Why? Because if you do, Tatl makes that really long speech after Odolwa. She doesn't if you split the temple. So splitting Woodfall is pretty much cemented in.

I noticed a similar thing in my GBT TAS. Whenever I tried to view the movie from a savestate, it would desync at the red switch room because the bomb would explode on the chuchu. when played from the beginning, it doesn't do that. This is part of why I gave up. the desyncing rate on this game is phenominal.

Looks good, AKA. BTW, as I just discovered, it is completely impossible to skip the clock tower scene, so we might as well just wait on the clock tower platform. Although you get a cool alternate scene if you're out in the field when it activates.

urgh... Well, unfortunately, time constraints are going to prevent me from doing this TAS. However, I will always be here to help anyone who wants to do the TAS, and I have about 100 different suggestions on subtle things to do that only a TAS can accomplish. Oh, and don't worry about my WIP. I never got past the intro scene...>_> But, until someone goes for the TAS, let's discuss the route... Firstly, here's the revised route, which is, as far as I know, consistent (but check it anyway). http://rapidshare.de/files/33633870/MMany_route2.rtf.html The only problem with this route is that it's a little too generous in time before the ranch. ie, at TAS speed, we'll be way to early for the ranch scene. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Secondly, the Lottery and random bush drops are things that can be manipulated in a TAS, where this route is for speedruns. Bushes in the field do give Red Rupees, so money can be gathered very quickly that way. Unfortunarely, I'm not sure how to work this into the route.

I'm not sure. I've recently made little progress due to school related things, but I'll try to get back on it.

You only really glitch out of Clock town on the first cycle. After that, leaving Clock Town to Termina field will always activater the scene.

Which will be spent outside clock town collecting rupees. The fewer rupees I have to collect later in the game, the better. There's about 100 rupees that have to be gathered in the main course of the game, all of which I'd prefer not to have to get out of chests/out of the way stuff.

So then why is GuanoBowl named I (or J, can't remember which) in his run? Just an oversight or something different between OoT and MM?

Actually, there is no ice in Termina field when you glitch out of clock town. The problem is that the snowballs on the path to snowhead require explosives. Otherwise, I think that we could get the Goron Mask on Cycle 1. I'll test that in P64 (with those sexy levitation cheats). Oh, and I've started, having finally got around those issues. However, due to other things interfering, I'm only up through the file creation.

Skipping the Lullaby is definitely worth it, as there's a ton of cutscene with that, but the sheer number of small time losses make skipping the Goron Mask not really worth it. BTW, we already have a route. It's on the first post of page 2

Hi I'm new. My English is not good. I Maked some Movies with the Infinit Sword Glitch and the Bombchu Hower Glitch. The first, is, how to reach the Romani Ranch without the Goron Mask, bevore the Last Day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWFIM7wr5cs And the second is, how to reach the Scull Kid before midnight of the Last day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr_6gXuByNM I hope this will help to make a TAS Video.
Both of those have already been discovered, the ranch one by me. (and there's a much better way to get into the ranch early) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sho5ORTNDk4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV_GOBnl8dA For a ton of videos of the hover glitch and its potential (and a few other things), check out my videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=petrie911 Also, you can activate the sword glitch off bombs. Further, Goron Rolling is not significantly slower than epona, at least not slower enough to warrant getting Epona, and super sliding is quite a bit faster.

As I said, it is awesome, but below are a few spots where I think improvements might be possible. Numbers in parentheses indicate the corresponding times from the Youtube movie. (1:24) You bump into the valve while leaping out of the water. Can this be avoided? (3:22) Can you leap out of the water and land directly in the next tunnel? (3:35) Can you leap out of the water and land on a higher section of the red pipe? (4:08) Can you leap out of the water and land on a higher section of the green pipe? (4:13) Can you become Link earlier and take out the bomb a few seconds sooner to save time waiting for it to defuse? (5:22) Could you have stunned Gyorg a bit earlier by jumping into the water in the right direction? Your second cycle was noticeably faster.
1) Probably, although the angle would be dfficult. Remember that I was constrained to 8 directions in this. 2) Not in a timely manner 3) No. Zora Link cannot ascend fast enough. 4) Presumably yes. I just didn't do it because I wanted to get this done. But I tried many times. And there was the controls issue 5) Yes. I didn't think of that, and it makes lining up harder. see the controls issue. Plus I thought the sidehopping and backflip looked cool. 6) Gyorg is much farther away from the platform in the second hit. I have to circle around to get to him in the first hit. I appreciate the comments. There are a few other mistakes I'm aware of(tricks I forgot about), too. Anyway, I'll start on this as soon as I get an actual way to do this.

The only class of glitches not acceptable in a TAS are the Crooked Cartridge glitches (even though they can (surprisingly) be emulated), IIRC. Also, I can't seem to figure out what's wrong with gln64. It works fine upon startup, but after reset it doesn't show anything. The game appears to be running fine, but the screen is blank. And that workaround doesn't seem to work, either. How exactly do I update my graphics driver? Because it's either that or hope that Jabo's 1.5.2 and gln64 are interchangable for this purpose. Oh, and mwlin, I'd love to hear your comments on my GBT TAS.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work fpr me. The graphics still don't work. I'd just record with Jabo's 1.5.2, but I'm not sure if that will cause desyncing. Could someone look into this?
