The Goron Mask is unquestionably faster, IMO. The Gilded sword halves (or maybe quarters; I forget which one) the time it takes to beat Majora's Mask, and there's no way to keep the mask down, so that halving/quartering is considerable, and, combined with all the time lost from skipping it, means that Goron Mask is the way to go.

His garb looks rather African, which is what I assume he made that decision on. Also, Africa is where most jungle warriors are, anyway. But back to the point. Not getting the goron mask is a very difficult decision. I'm currently trying to work out the route in the event that I do. Once I've worked that out, then I can decide and start the TAS.

Tingle and the Deku King are, to my knowledge, the only pictures for that heart piece. Anyways, I think I am going to be skipping the Goron Mask. Of course, this means no Gilded Sword, which in turn means no Giant's Mask, which makes Twinmold interesting, to say the least. Route still being worked on.

Well, still working on a good TAS route through the game, as TASing opens up new possibilities. Also,

How do you find this out? I don't remember seeing Ganondorf hosting the lottery...

Well, I decided to start the TAS. I mean, the sequence before Clock Town is the same no matter what the route. Unfortunately, it seems that every time I reset the emulator, like what needs to be done to record from start, the graphics stop working. This problem seems unique to gl64, as Jabo's 1.5.2 doesn't have this problem. Anyone know how to fix this?

I'll be using gl64, as Jabo's 1.6 causes my emulator to crash, and Jabo's 1.5.2 looks horrible. Although I found Jabo's 1.6 to look best, as gl64 has start menu issues. Can m64s be played on different graphics plugins than they were recorded on? And speaking of m64s, here's the m64 and the snapshot state to go with it. It was recorded with jabo's, but it plays fine for me with gl64. Also, nevermind about that Goron Mask thing. No Goron Mask=no Goron Race=No Gilded Sword. Of course, if it turns out that it's better to skip the Giant's Mask, then we'll have to reconsider. The 3rd bottle would have to either be gotten from Madame Aroma or the Beaver Races. Ugh...to figure out which is faster would essentially require TASing the whole game twice, once with the mask and once without.

Well, I think I will TAS this game. After all, I've already done Great Bay Temple (feel free to comment on my work on that; any criticism is appreciated). The TAS route will probably be the same as the SS route, found here. If any of you guys see anything wrong/should be changed, feel free to say. There are a few things I'd like to have cleared up before running. 1) Should I get the Giant's Mask? Although it would look cool to have no Happy Masks, it's probably faster to get it, especially since we're getting the Gilded Sword, but incredible aim with arrows could solve that. 2) Should I get the Goron Mask? I know it sounds insane, but it IS possible to skip it. It just requires an extra 10 explosives and some extra bomb pickups in Snowhead (as well as some luck manipulation in the road to Ikana). On the other hand, skipping the Goron Mask cuts it down to 2 cycles, which leaves problems with funds. 3) and speaking of funds, we should consider alternate ways of making money. The lottery seems like a good option. Killing dodongos is another. 4) while odolwa, goht, and gyorg all have great strats, Twinmold is lacking. Even with a TAS, a perfect fight against them will be difficult, mostly because it's not clear what a perfect fight against them is. Some other concerns I have are that I am simply using the arrow keys for movement input, so my range of directions is a bit lacking. Also, Mupen tends to display every 3 frames for me. is there a way to get it to display every frame?

I suppose, but that doesn't really explain the other problems, or the errors. Mupen comes up with that graphics error every so often, too, but I think that Flashram thing is what's causing the problem.

OK, I'll try mupen. BTW, I got a bunch of error messages, too. They all said the following While processing graphics data, an exception occurred you may need to restart the emulator. Except one, which came up after pressing start after the opening. it said Failed to open Flashram Being new to all this, I have very little idea what this means. EDIT: Mupen seems to work fine. I'd still like to know what's up with project64, though, mainly because I need the cheats it has.

I'm trying to play LoZ:MM on Project64. However, every time I start a file, it puts me in the mayor's residence for some reason and I have no control. I'm new to emulators, so I really have no idea what's going on, and I'm probably just doing something incredibly stupid. Please help.
