BTW if Rockin Kats wins this is gonna become much more a frame war than a real contest. All runs will look exactly the same. Can't you people see it's a stupid 100 years old NES game. And a very lame game even for those standards. If you want to have a decent contest, it's time to stop going with the flow and start voting for Captain Commando or Sorcerer's Maze. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdb6vAeLu7Q

I don't understand why that game has to be kinect-only. The whole kinect control scheme seems extremely artificially tacked onto the game, and it looks like it would be significantly more fluent to play the game with the gamepad (and that's coming from me, who hates playing first-person-view games with a gamepad).
As I said before, the main purpose isn't to obsolete the controler. It's like the gun in games like Lethal Enforcers or Virtua Cop. It's a different experience... it's like you're really being part of the game. It feels much more interesting than using a controller.

I'm sorry but that looks really clumsy and boring. The character's turning and movement speed alone looks like it would make me crazy within 10 minuets of playing. Also it looks like most of the stuff could easily be done with the Wiimote.
Yeah the kinect sucks, right... it's so useless it can't even do the dishes.

my take on the games Rockin' Kats - Yet another NES platformer. Sad choice. Already has a published run. Sad². Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - When I read this, I thought it was the bootleg KoF 2k2 game. But it's the crappy GBA game. Captain Commando, 4 player - I remember this game and a 4 player run would look great. And since I've never made such a thing, it would be an extra accomplishment for me and maybe for the other team members. Sorcerer's Maze - I've never heard of the game before, but after watching a youtube video I saw it has potential. The power-up that duplicates the ball everytime in bounces on "the thing we control" looks amazing. Could be repetitive after a while but I"d have to play to confirm. Chronos Twin - lame platformer on 2 screens

my sugestions to DarkKobold and this contest:
  1. Let the teams pick any one of these games and change the goal of the contest to entertainment value, making a poll at the end to decide which run is better.
  2. Troll everyone and say that you are gonna pick the game with less votes.
  3. Screw this poll and pick one of those 2 games yourself
  4. Do a barrel roll (Z or R twice)!

pointless poll, Rockin Kats will obviously win because nobody wants to get out of their comfort zone. you see why it's important to get a opinion from someone clever enough and outside the contest now?

Assassin's Creed is a ripoff of Hitman and Manhunt except they removed all the beautiful graphic violence and replaced a badass bald/skinhead hero with a homo wearing a hood.

as far as I've understood, the Kinect requires a well-lit room
I explained that it only needs light for facial recognition, and even that feature works fine with far less light then you'd expect (as long as the console has collected enough data about the observed human being under that kind of ilumination).

The Xbox 360 controller uses standard AA batteries. A pair of fully charged rechargeable AA batteries lasts for at least 2 weeks in it. Not really a turn off.

Yes, we should make sure only wealthy white land owners vote, because they know what is best for the plebeians. Anyway, the only reason that it WOULD isolated is because the players in the contest have to suffer whatever game is chosen. Sometimes, the most popular game would be the worst TAS to make. Thus, if I did separate the vote, it would only be to allow players in the contest to vote for their own mercy and sanity; not out of some superiority complex.
We, the people who joined the contest, are pretty confident in our abilities and want some decent and interesting challenge... not some random bullshit game like Alien Hominid. That's why I want to have the game selected by people who actually know what they do. These are some of the people I would ask to decide what game we should play: (I might add more later but these guys are very obvious choices)

Yeah I've already slapped people while I was using the Kinect and it feels good, man. You can also use that as an excuse to grope someone and get away with it. +10 points for Gryffindor PS3 loses

1- Kinect motion detection works perfectly in full darkness. It only demands some light for face recognition. And just like the Playstation Move, it may not work properly under direct sunlight. But can the Playstation Move recognize you? Maybe if you stick it up your fat butt. 2- Input Lag? yep, it's full body motion detection so there is some. But check this out and tell me if you can see that immense lag they talk about. 3- Hardcore games. Dance Central looks pretty hardcore to me. Kinect isn't meant to replace normal controllers by the way.

What do we learn from this? Don't get a girlfriend.
Actually, we learn that real life is nothing like the TV says it is. In the end the girl did nothing wrong. HE created the whole situation. He saw things were going bad and could have taken back control or even jumped out of it and escaped safe and unharmed, but was too scared of losing the precious girl and never finding someone so perfect again. Do you think any girl would respect a guy who acts like that?

Well, I know God of War always was and will always be a game for morons who can't get never get tired of action movies/games' cliches and love following on-screen commands. I've never played Uncharted, but I saw some youtube videos and it looks like shit.
