Music is great for inspiration, especially metal or dance. I usually turn off the game's own sound,... that's a distraction.

Hmm... I don't believe that... the axe can't kill a Medusa Head, let alone a Flea Rider.

We can't kill Harpies after the Knight. And if we kill them before him, they give 200+ EXP... and that's a Lv UP.

hmmmm... as you noticed, I didn't really like the final part. But that does not makes a "NO"... And I can't say "YES" just because it's a friend... But, as Mukki, I'm taking a neutral position and giving it a "YES". It's well planned and well played, and pretty good considering he arrived here very recently.

A quick note: At keep, we are 262 EXP to the next level, but Fleariders are giving only 150 (Alucard @ Lv 5) we need to get at least those 112 EXP before them (or kill one of them, what does not seem possible, since we'll need to have all boys alive for the 4 tosses). I imagined 2 options: *1 - Medusa Heads give 38, and I'm almost sure we can kill that one in Outer Wall plus 3 in Clock Tower (at Lv 4, before Cloaked Knight) for 114 EXP. *2 - Flea Armors give 120, and we can kill one as we're returning from the Knight. <--- I'm 100% sure of that, it's the best option, I'm picking this one.

Yeah, I know what "endianness" is. I just put it that way to make it easier to notice.

So you are saying that RAM Watch doesn't support non-4-byte-margined watch. BTW, I'm afraid that none of the DeSmuME team members are reading this thread... We need to forward reports to the project's tracker, I guess.
I don't see anything wrong with that address... it's 4-byte and perfectly aligned. I just put those numbers to show where it is taking the values from. It fails for 1-byte values too. For example, there is some sort of a "is backdash on" variable for Jonathan. It is set to 1 as he backdashes and it only returns to 0 when it ends and you can do it again. (Note that this is not really the value that handles the backdash, it just shows its situation.) It reads the wrong address again. And adelikat is part of the team, or so I read in the about box...

Yeah, and the best ending in AoS happens when you get all souls, not just after you defeat chaos.

I have still to finish it. But which one are you talking about? 斩妖伏魔录 1 or 2? Oh, and I put all the links in the first post, to make life easier.

of course sisters is a bad ending. Shows a cutscene, rolls credits and resets the game... isn't that ending enough for you? And yeah, sisters might be the most useless thing, losing just to that lame demon final boss that looks bad but just flies around and kick people. At least the magician girl has one good looking attack.

My point is that the final battle takes a long time... for nothing. And finishing it via glitch does not unlock Richter + Maria anyway.

Anyway... I vote for a "End at Sisters" run. That retarded spread-wings-and-summon-2-evil-hands-that-crush-you-like-walls attack is THE WORST SHIT EVER. I also had some ideas to maybe improve a few parts... but that's for IRC I believe.

All those glitches you mentioned are typical of J2ME games. I'm very used to them, they are likely errors in the java virtual machine. Nothing specially bad about it. And that 2nd game has an even better version, with much improved character graphics and a backdash but I couldn't get a version that works in KEmulator

Yeah, the only thing I could wonder is whether different enemies generate equal or different RNG values, but I forgot to test it. I asked arukAdo, but I believe he forgot it too. Same enemy species generates same RNG, even if they're in different rooms, that I know. EDIT: Well, it seems all of them give the same numbers... but I can't be 100% sure because I was somewhat sleepy and I think I saw some of them giving different values.

Yeah, I guess I was playing a non-hacked version, but now I got past it. But you could at least tell me the name of game and what's the story about... And bugs? What bugs? It looked really stable to me also,

And I can't handle poorly designed ORIGINAL Castlevania games anymore. This SotN clone is really fun to play, like when I tried Aria of Sorrow for the first time. The character design is WAY BETTER then Dawn of Sorrow/Portrait of Ruin plus the gameplay is very above average considering it's a mobile java game. But you need to check the other one. It's an action game, pretty cool. With SUPER-IMPRESSIVE graphics comparing to the shitty DS games... These games, as non-original and badly programmed as they seem are the best Castlevania games since Aria of Sorrow. PERIOD. Ah, that Kemulator is the best thing ever. So great that someone bought the project and now the main site is unavailable... EDIT: Can you give me original links to download the free games? Here's the SE K800 version, fully compatible with kemulator: http://stashbox.org/521696/AS_K800.jar You won't get stuck at Manticore's poor brother... heh

Well, RNG in PoR = 020F627C, hexadecimal, 4-byte. Good luck trying to manipulate it. I didn't test too deeply, but it only changes when you kill an enemy that drops something. Destructible objects and basic enemies like bats and bone archers don't change it.

My problem is the chinese message that pops up when I reach the 3rd stage. No matter what I do I always come back to the map. Can you tell me what it is asking me? also, I like the other one much better, but it won't run in microemulator (and some cellphones) unless you add the nokia ui files. They are in the /lib subdirectory, inside microemu-nokiaui.jar. Put the com folder inside the game jar archive and it will work.

OK, here you have a cool emulator: http://stashbox.org/519571/MicroEmulatorv2.0.3.64.rar It's kind of boring to get this thing working, but you have it all set up , all you have to do is run the .cmd file (as long as you are on Windows). I get no sound here, tell me your experiences. I included JADMaker, becaause you'll need the JAD files for the emulator. The copyright-violating roms: Yep, not allowed either. For the SotN-like game, can you tell me what the heck happens when we reach the 3rd stage?

I also found this one: I'll PM you the link for the other game because I don't know if it's cool to post a link to download a commercial game that violates copyrights... There's a emulator here It would also be nice if you didn't ask a moderator to delete my post!

1HR shift line is really impossible. The minimal gap alucard needs to fall in is 7 pixels wide, and his faster move is the drop kick (5 pixels). The wingsmash won't work either (6 pixels only). Big toss can make it with a single Lvl up pause (8 pixels), and the backdash can make 7 pixels with two pauses if the first one happens in the very first frame (4 pixels, then 3) I was observing the glitch. It's like a desynchronization between Alucard's position and graphics... when there's a pause near the edges of the room, right in the transition point where the scrolling stops, Alucard's sprite moves faster than his X position (maybe duiring the pause the game thinks it's still in the scrolling zone). And the sprite's position has no value for warping because we can move past the boundaries and do our "Edge Travel". To check that for yourself, stand near the edge of a room, where the scrolling is not active... say, the left one and save a state. Look at your X position (address 973F0): suppose it's "20". Using the cheat function, change it to "27" and save another state. This should move Alucard 7 pixels to the right, away from the edge, but apparently nothing happens. Now disable the cheat (the old value (20) will be restored abd for some reason Alucard will warp to the transition point) and load the last savestate with the altered position. Compare both old and new savestates: same view, but different positions in memory. The "Shift Line" has been created.
