About the color thing, the desync is not caused by lag or anything. When Samus fires the missile at the metroid, it should flinch downwards, but after the color patch, instead, it goes up! Maybe the guy used another version of the rom...?

Well, I work at VBA and the default hotkeys are already optimal enough. I use all the available 10 savestates, like this: Slot 10 has the oldest save (usually first frame of the game, or the title screen); Slot 9 has the beginning of the current section, or room, or stage, or whatever. Slot 8 has always my current "OK" position. In other words, it's the place I can safely resume it after I take a break (even if I forgot what I did before). The remaining slots are used for testing all possible options. Also, frame search is the greatest assistant ever. It saves A LOT of time, at the cost of thousands of re-records. A good reason to keep old savestates is to quick preview the movie, by switching to read-only and then loading the state. The most important thing is to ALWAYS use frame advance. Don't be lazy... it's the only way to make it look good. The rest is learned with time (I guess!).

Hmm... for the people who didn't get the idea, here's an example. That's the Bat boss at the boss rush. it has 2250 HP, and I caused a 1916 (iirc) damage with a single attack. Apparently, the glitch causes the whip to become active WHILE the cross is inactive. By the way, it works with the axe too, but I don't see any reason to do it.

Well, I tried frame advance, but... it sorta worked... not like it should, but it did. Anyway why aren't the pause and the frame advance button the same? why would I pause with the P ? And I couldn't find the toasting menu.

Oh... unfortunately it is NOT POSSIBEL to make a 0% pacifist run, because when you reach the (other?) ship, there's a missile recharge thing inside and nothing else happens. I had already predicted that something should be done to activate the ship event, and I thought that the baby metroid was the trigger... but it is something else... Anyways... somebody said that runs made with the original version would desync if played in the hacked DX version, but they work perfectly. Of course, you need to edit the movie file's header, to change it to a gbc movie.

Well, after so many months, did somebody consider trying that cool little glitch I found... ? I did it with Maxim, but Juste can perform it too with the cross subweapon. For you information, it's simple like this: Jump (or double jump or whatever, just don't touch the ground) and use the subweapon (cross); Right after the subweapon hits the target, do a drop kick; A few frames after the drop kick hits, do a normal attack. With Maxim, the shuriken is affected and can hit up to 14 times (as long as the sword animation lasts) With Juste, the whip is affected, and I didn't do many tests, but it hits around 25 times in a single attack. I tried it at the boss rush (real time + few save states), and I could kill that minotaur with 2 atacks.

Er... I'm making an attempt too. Comrade moozooh asked me about which techniques I was using, and mentioned that jump-a little-bit-higher thing and the fall-like-a-rock another-thing. Well, there's one retarded one I've found useful when you're in ball form(but it's so obvious that of course you know it), that is pressing up and then down when you're about to hit the ground, so she won't bounce with me baby bounce bounce bounce.. And how come those WIPs start from savestates? And why is people wanting to hex-edit things to fix re-record count? WHO CARES ABOUT RE-RECORD COUNT? (Truncated doesn't count) EDITED TO FIX SOME TYPOS AND TO ADD THAT THAT COLOR HACK LOOKS QUITE GOOD and that I'm making a, pacifist 0% broken run. Also, I've improved the usage of the select glitch, but I can't explain anything right now
