The problem with that conclusion is that several of the yes votes were probably members playing along, as the whole Battle Chess submissions situation is absurd as it is. Unless, of course, you have also begun to play along, in which case I will need to get my Sarcasm-o-meter recalibrated, for internet sarcasm (IS units) is difficult to gauge correctly sometimes.

Is that really all there is to the ending? So if I had spent countless hours playing it on an actual NES back in the day, THAT would have been my reward for all my hard work? Not even "A Winner Is You" or any text? Really, Tecmo? REALLY? (Also, post-publication Yes vote. Air walking is damn broken, like everything else in the run.)

Sure is SERIOUS BUSINESS in here. Voting no since the author admitted it wasn't optimal, "Since this was only a fun project, [MUGG] didn't bother much about the 21-frame rule." When an optimzed PAL run is submitted, then I may decide to participate in this stalemate of a discussion.
Why wait until then? That is just putting of the inevitable.
Because the question is "Should this[/i][/u] movie be published?", as is this particular submission. But I side with the decision to publish as a separate category, if accepted.

Why did the end of Launch Base 2 glitch out with all the one and zeroes?

This TAS, like the Family Feud TAS, shows the true potential of creativity with regards to TASing. Post-publication Yes vote.

Forty seconds of improvement for the entire TAS would be phenomenal. I don't get why you feel it's a letdown. Because it isn't. At all.

More Rockman hacks (not just 2, either) -Rockman (1) 2000 (TAS from 2008 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm5317762) -Rockman (2) ABNormality (if it ever gets completed) -Rockman 2 GrayZone (TAS from 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm11565736) -Rockman 3 Alpha (TAS from 2008 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4160035) -Rockman 4 Minus Infinity (when it gets completed) etc. etc. etc. Also, in the similar vein of 3+4+5+6, possibly DEM+NC simultaneously. sample: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm1595529

I'm confused about the timing. The publication says 21:43.xx, yet the last hit on Wario in the video is at 22:04.xx or so. What accounts for this discrepancy?

I'd also like to see a TAS of DEM, well, an updated one. The current 28:00 one from 2008 by cstrakm: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2879398 But the hack I'd really like to see a full TAS of is Rockman-ABNormality, but I don't think it is completed yet.

Is it just me, or does the current encode (sgrunt's) video freeze at 35:25, while the credits BGM keeps playing? If the previous video length (total) was 37:05, there shouldn't be any reason for this new and improved publication to be longer (37:43), right? tl;dr - If it's not just me, re-encode, please.

Well, the WIP is speedy (good!), makes use of the Recoil Rod (great!), and doesn't appear to lose too much time compared to the any% run (phew!). However, I'm still not sure a finished 100% TAS will be accepted as a new category, but Megaman 7 has a 100% TAS alongside the any%, despite not using many of the extra items outside of collecting other items (ie Rush Search for Exit), so it's possible.

Actually, I think if you want to work on a 100% run, it should be in Hard mode instead. (Similar to the Aria of Sorrow 100% Souls). Reasons include: -Able to skip cutscenes (also skipped in AoS100%) -No EX skills can be obtained, making boss fights markedly different from the current Normal Mode TAS -No Cyber Elfs can be used, and since Clokkle is the only one you're currently considering (speeds up weapon charging, which is disabled for the Z-Saber in Hard anyways), you wouldn't have to worry about e-crystals Of course, this means boss battles will take much longer, Zero being deprived of massive damage combos and all. On the other hand, because Zero no longer has to worry about A/S rank for obtaining EX skills, so he can probably fly through parts of the stages faster, killing less enemies.

I watched this run and compared the in-game stage times at the end of each level. What I found confused me. Atma's Obsoleted TAS Intro Stage: 28.88 seconds Vs Black Devil: 46.18 seconds Vs Rangda Bangda: 1:00.96 Vs. X: 40.98 seconds Mothrayas's Current TAS Intro Stage: 29.23 seconds Vs Black Devil: 46.18 seconds Vs Rangda Bangda: 1:00.23 Vs. X: 41.45 seconds Somehow, despite the frames shaved off, two of the stages are slower than the obsoleted run's, and one is exactly the same (46.18 = 46.18). Is the in-game timer not reliable for individual stages, and only the final time (5:43) is accurate? Edit: In addition, the enemies defeated count is rather strange as well. As with the previous TAS, very few non-boss enemies were destoryed, thirteen in all, one less than the previous's fourteen. Yet the Virus Purple (Zero Stage 2) indicates 16 (sixteen) defeated enemies, when only 8 (eight) suffered that fate in the stage itself. Even if we count the three eyes and one nose of Rangda Bangda, that only adds up to twelve. What's going on there?
