Damn nice shortcuts, but one question: How is he able to do a whirl-attack right after he draws his sword? Or is this just part of the glitch?

And your movie still doesn't work. So I have no idea why you keep posting shit when it's obvious I can't VIEW it. I'm not downloading a different version of VBA for it.
Well, as far as I can see, I'm using the newest version. It's not my fault why it doesn't work for you. And I think there's no need to be offending... Edit: @Nach: That would make a lot more sense

I just tested it and you're right. Later on Wario's really speeding up around the poles no matter what kind of hat he's wearing. Btw: I updated my little movie.

Boco: Does the hat really change the end poles animation that much? Seemed to me that it's more dependent on the level you just completed.
Jet-Wario's usual running speed is a lot higher than Dragon-/Bull-/Normal-/small Wario's "walking" speed. Try it yourself and you will see!

Plus there's aesthetics to take into account. I have actually tried jumping constantly. And while it might TECHNICALLY be faster, seeing Wario just air dash like a retard across the top of the entire stage looks more interesting.
Hmm...in my eyes constant air-dashing might be interesting to watch for one or two stages because it's surprising and unexpected - but for the whole game? Whatever, it's been just an idea from my side. I would be interested in making a run, but my knowledge about this game has gone over the years and, to be honest, I don't have time to do it - university eats my life this semester...

I just made a movie of the first level using "my" method and this is the result. It's far from perfect and played in 25% speed. Maybe this helps you doing your run...

I just "discovered" something. If you hold up while jumping you are not only jumping higher you are also getting faster. So I tried the first level proceeding this method and got an end time of 355. KatouKid's end time was 357, so 2 WarioLand-seconds faster. But I only played at 37% speed and I think that it can be improved. The main reason I'm posting this: It looks much more interesting instead of air-dashing all the time. Maybe I'll find some time after my lectures this evening...

Hmm...that's right. Now I wonder how many times do you really have to destroy these blocks? Careful planning seems to be essential...(as it is always)

That looked quite good. So this will be an any-%-run? I definitely think this would be more interesting. I also think that jet-dashing is much more better than normal dashing. Furthermore Jet-Wario's normal running speed is a lot higher so the running around the bonus stage poles will be shorter. Hope to see some more stuff :)

Was it only me or is your second attempt at princess slide slower than the first visit?
Yes, it is. But as far as i can remember, FODA wanted to show two different tactics: 1. Beat the Slide-WR 2. Get the level done as fast as possible Maybe I misunderstood it, but it's been something this way... And now I have to watch the new WIP!

Well, actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I watched the entire thing. So maybe one or both of them would've desynched at some point. But it DID work for a little while. Or maybe I'm a lunatic. It's difficult to say.
I also tried it, but MMX2 always desynched in WireSponge's stage, so he fell into the spikes. And I tried both ways: MMX1 in the background and MMX2 in the background and both times he commited suicide by jumping into the first spikes in Wire Sponge's stage. EDIT: Ok, I got it work and I watched the whole thing to get sure, it won't desynch. Here's how: 1. Copy the movie file to have it twice. 2. Start Snes9x twice, so you have to windows (for better orientation let's call them left and right window). 3. Load MMX1 in the left window and MMX2 in the right one. 4. Load the the movie file to each window, but from your two different files, but don't start it! You should now have something like this: Screenshot 5. Uncheck all emulator synch settings. 6. Move the right "Play movie" window directly over the left one. 7. Left-click hammering on "OK" to get both movies started nearly at the same time. And then I hope you'll end up here: Screenshot I don't know which point is more or less important, but that's how I got it work.

I was close to vote no because you battered so many weak girls ;) No no, this looked really good and you also brought some variation in your moves (except the first fight). Edit: Hmm...why can't I vote although I'm not a lurker anymore?

What a coincidence: I played through the game yesterday and now I found this amazing WIP. I just watched your old run and was really impressed. I didn't know about the glitches, so I had to collect my jaw from the floor. ;) I really hope that you will finish this run!

Voting No because you don't like the game is o_O. What's wrong if he played it flawlessly? Donkey Kong is boring but is more popular than supposed "excellent" games here. Popeye is also a classic.
I never said I don't like the game. I said I don't like watching the game. So nothing's wrong. But in my opinion watching this game is boring and that's the simple reason why I would have voted "no" (I didn't because I cant') although it is definitely flawlessly-played. The question remains "Did you like watching this movie?" and that's my simple answer. And I really don't care if a game is a classic...Donkey Kong is also very boring to watch...(your run is well-done, but, again, boring to watch) (I would be interested in the GameBoy-version because Mario has so many moves and jumps, but the game is really long) But maybe this movie should get a chance because the Donkey Kong games have also been published.

When I judge it from the "is this movie flawless" perspective, my answer (rounded to the nearest boolean value) is "yes". You also utilized the wait times more interestingly than in the previous movie. However, when I judge it from the "does this movie deserve to be published" perspective, my answer is "no".
Well, actually a movie should be judged by the "Did you like watching this movie"-perspective because that's what the question asks. And my answer would be no (can't vote yet). Not because of any mistakes or something like that; just because I disliked watching the game. It's boring. And by the way: I would totally agree to change the movie question into "Does this movie derserve to be published?"

I loved this game, when I was a kid and I can't remember how much time I needed to beat it. Alex' run really impressed me, but this one let my jaw drop to the floor. Just great!

Weird game ;) I just tried it myself and I tried to do it quite fast and always died, when a platform got under water for about an inch or so and so my rabbit (or whatever this thing is) drowned. But with some patience it surely is very easy. But without killing an enemy it certainly isn't that easy. It looks quite funny, when you're hopping all the time. You'd get a "Yes", but I cannot vote yet. :( Hope, you now got some time for Mario :) PS: I'm not that new as it appears to be, but I've been just a reader for about half a year and watched most of the runs on this site.
