If you wanna see "real driving skills" in BB, then watch this vid: http://wrvids.com/Mario%20Kart/MK64/Fastest%20Available%20Vids/bb-3412(pal)-Jongerius.mpeg Much cleaner than this TAS, and 0 re-records.
I never intended to abase the console players who have real driving skills (no quotes this time; that serves a purpose). My point was that I liked to see a race completed the way the programmers planned to (well, at least almost).

Seeing those shortcuts is truly insane, but I most enjoyed BB where some "real driving skills" are shown. The other three tracks "only" have repetitive shortcuts. Saying this, I'm really looking forward to the full run (which is not ruined at all by this). PS: Yes

I think MMF is one of those levels which is very difficult to optimize. When I played the game I never knew which route I would take because of all the ups and downs (and moles...). But this first lap looked pretty neat and since you've been experimenting so long I think you're very close to the optimum (maybe you've even reached it). Keep it up!

Loved this game as a kid and I enjoyed this run -> Yes!

Now that's what I'd call a complex challenge. The movie was pretty impressive. I'd be interested up to which level this strategy is possible, but there will definitely be a limit...

I think, the route planning would be a lot harder for an any-% run (issues like which rings should be skipped to get the shortest route etc). On the other hand, there are quite a lot tasks in which the given points are directly connected to the time only. I suggest to do a 100%-run first and an any-% run later. Most important: Just do something. I wanna see this! :)

Almost a minute by now! That's crazy. I'm not downloading any WIPs anymore because I want to be surprised by the entire final result! The published movie is one of my favorites (if not the favorite) on this site...

It will be changed to "THIEF" anyway pretty early in the game. Therefore, I think, it's the right decision to name the hero "A".

I played this game a lot when I was younger. I really enjoy watching your movies. Nitrodon seems to have a lot of knowledge about this game. Maybe you could team up?

Plus, I tested with 3 arrows powered up, it only hurt boss by 1 point.
That's a pity :( But thanks for the test run. Now I can't stop playing this game ;) Edit: Just finished the game and it crashed as well. I have no idea why...

Hmm...I don't know if it would be worthy to power up your arrow before. The boss fights (especially the snake) are quite long and boring to watch. At the final boss the lag reduction could be better I think. But that's just a minor point. In my opinion, you should sacrifice some frames at the end of each level and kill more enemies to raise the entertainment value... But all in all a good test run! I hope you will start a serious TAS of this game.

The good thing about this glitch is, that you can still follow progress (unlike Megaman I). I'd like to see this completed very badly!

Rolling is initially faster, but Dixie pauses after the roll, so a series of rolls will be slower than a series of jumps. However, I do use the roll to accelerate for the start of the jumps.
I just tried jumping at the end of a series of rolls and it worked fine. But I don't know if it's faster...

Cool that you've started that game. But is jumping or using the helicopter (or whatever this is called) really faster than 'rolling' and therefore killing the enemies like it is done in alle the DKC runs? A minor emulator problem: When I start the game, it is in colored mode, but when I start your movie it's switching back to monochrome...

Wow, the encoders seem to be on fire recently. So many published movies in the last days!

I don't know much about the game, but I was entertained. Ergo: Yes!

Oh awesome, an even better run of this game. But somehow, I wish you wouldn't provide WIPs. I can't resist to watch them ;)

Thank you, so all in all the backwalking is still faster? It's a pity :( But keep up the good work!

Just to let you know: The WIP worked perfectly fine for me (after I downloaded the TAS Input Plugin). I don't remember much of this game, so honestly, I have no idea what you're doing. But sometimes I wonder why you do the A-move and sometimes the backwalking?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that the hurdle is 17 posts. So no reason for spamming. Btw: Nice run, nice new camera angles. It's really not easy to make this run a totally new one. Btw2: It's a pure guess, but I bet AKA is already working on an improvement. And I hope I'm not wrong...

spockybiemmichab, I was able to jump two barriers in Chill Penguin's stage because of downslope jumping, so Zurreco is right (although it doesn't really need a critical point; any point going downhill will do). You will notice that the slopes are actually upslopes. I press left for a couple frames to walk downslope, then jump and press right.
Thanks for the explanation. I didn't really understand this glitch in the submission text. Now I do.

I was referring to this spot and another spot short after that: I'm mentioning that because you surprised me that you could jump on this platform in Chill Penguin's stage without grabbing the wall: I couldn't even reproduce the jump in Chill Penguin...

Absolutely excellent. There were only two spots in Armored Armadillo stage where I thought you could do a jump without grabbing the wall. But that's probably not true...

This run is not only faster in a matter of frames, but it's even notably faster. And the JJ bonus was fantastic! Sad, that Enguarde is slower. He/she/it makes water levels less boring.

More than 26,000 rerecords? Even in fast-forward Mario is as fast as a turtle. ;) But please continue, if you have the patience ;)
