Not that easy, sadly. Multiple processors/processor cores are only beneficial for multi-tasking or performing specifically multi-threaded tasks, the latter of which is rather tricky in most applications.

It's not a requirement, per se, just a strong suggestion. Some games run fine with a single-core, while others will struggle just to bring you to a title screen before you fall asleep.

Multi-core processors do wonders for PCSX2. Switching from a single-core processor to a dual-core of the same clockspeed improved performance about 600-800% for me, without exaggeration. Some games have an easier time than others, however; Disgaea ran near full-speed on my old single-core, while FFX was getting about 1fps if I was lucky.

Leveling other characters along with Ramza would be slightly more tricky. I'm not sure if the time spent would be made up for later when you have to expend turns leveling other characters just to have a faster stream of turns in later battles. At most, you might see me roll a couple story characters out (notably Orlandu) when their services would prove useful. I wouldn't even put money on that being an effective strategy, but I'd still give it a shot. I have a list of the levels and stats of every unit in every story battle, which makes it much easier to plan for Calculator deployment, and figuring out how to manipulate Ramza's stats accordingly. I'll probably do a few test runs before I settle on a final strategy, in any event.

In that regard, it isn't much less interesting than any of the other RPGs done so far; the existing movies for the SNES Final Fantasies are mostly just skipping text and abusing classes/abilities. The only deviations this would present are an increase in the time watching battles fought, and a lack of watching a character walk around a map. It would, however, take up more of your time to watch the finished movie in its entirety, which is definitely not desirable. So, I'm not arguing in favor of it being entertaining so much as stating that it's a project I'd like to work on. My feelings wouldn't be hurt if it wasn't published. In fact, I'd more likely feel bad if it was. :p

I prefer the increased resolution, as well. The lack of a z-buffer is painful whether the image is 320x240 or 1600x1200, so I'll take the hit and be happy with just seeing more detail. I don't know how people can stand to play 2D games with interpolation, though. Even HQ and kreed's filters are an eyesore to me most of the time. But that's neither here nor there. I'd rather not force plugins on anyone, but rather see that the emulator loads the correct plugins for the movie as dictated by the movie file. That's my only gripe about Mupen, really, aside from people frequently using GPU plugins that crash the emulator on my system.

Yeah, movie length is my greatest fear here. I think I'd be extremely lucky to make it under four hours, which is a hell of a long time to watch someone play chess, particle effects or no. And the periodic interruptions with completely unskippable text ("l i t t l e m o n e y" still makes my blood pressure rise) certainly don't help matters any. I'd still like to make an attempt, but I don't have any sort of expectation for the end result to published, unless out of pity.

It's worth mentioning that one of the criteria for an emulator to be acceptable for use here is that it be open source, which Magic Engine is not. You could still make movies with it if you so desired, but they would not be accepted for publication. Not sure how much that matters to you.

... You know, this is actually one game I could TAS... I already know all the memory addresses to watch - I've been tearing the game apart for ten years. I just wouldn't have it done in a timely fashion, per se. Meh, what the hell, I'll see what I can come up with.

By the way, you're missing an 'X' from the title of the PC Engine game. </minornitpick>

Eh, people were foaming at the mouth over FFVII, so why not Suikoden II? Though I'd prefer the first game, in either event.

I wasn't defending Wikipedia, nor attacking you, and I apologize if it appeared that way. I'm Switzerland over here, just sharing information.

Could have sworn there was a Genesis version similar to SNES... probably misremembering again. But yes, there are at least four versions of it floating around.

I'd rather see the Sega CD version overall, but I'd be happy watching any version of the game done, really. Neat little title you never hear too much of.

Firefox also has single key navigation (in fact, it frequently annoys me when I hit the shortcuts accidentally...), though I don't think any torrent add-on available is worth picking over, say, micro/utorrent.

The obvious choice. Really, is there any game that would be more surprising?

Grab the Adblock add-on, if you haven't already, and simply tell it to block that specific element. Make sure it's configured to remove the element, not just hide it.

Depending on your video card's drivers, you can disable interpolation in DX and OGL from the control panel. I believe that worked on my desktop, but I know I have no such ability on my laptop.

And in this case, one doesn't travel through walls with the X-Ray Scope and another does. I don't see much of a difference, but meh.

Orangutans are not known to consciously work out linear algebra of any grand consequence. They have been taught sign language, however.

Assuming you're merely against the piracy aspect, there are more innocent ways to take the statement... for example, I buy DS games, and then just play them on the R4 because the cards are a pain to keep track of and/or carry with you. On their own, they get lost easily. In their box, they take up too much room. I'm not an outright pirate, at least in that nobody's losing money off of me...

The M3 would probably be the card I'd lean toward, since it comes with the slot 2 flash cart for playing GBA games, among other things. I'd just recommend using YSMenu over the official firmware.
