I can vouch for this.

The worst thing you can do is be suspicious of someone, even if your suspicions are correct. You have to express trust and faith in someone, and expect the same treatment back in order to get anywhere. If she is cheating on you and betraying your trust, would you really want to keep her in the first place? Your time and emotions should be worth more to you than that. Don't love someone so much that you're willing to let them treat you like shit just so you won't be lonely. Women like to be treated as though they're special, but not worshipped, and the worst words you can ever say are, "I need you." You should show the utmost trust in her, but don't ever let yourself be walked on. If you suspect she's cheating on you, don't let it on that you suspect her of anything. And if you find that she is cheating on you in the end, recognize that you need to respect yourself more than to let her do that to you, and that you can always find someone else who can appreciate you more.

In all honesty, I have never once been able to point the XP installation disc to drive C and tell it to reinstall WITHOUT it wiping the entire partition. This is why I gave Windows its own partition. It still wipes the entire partition on reinstall whether I ask it to or not, to this day. It will simply greet me with, "performing this action will erase all data. Do you wish to continue?" and opting out exits installation. A CS geek friend said I was full of shit, so I tossed him the CD and directed him to my tower. After messing with every option in the menu, he was unsuccessful at coaxing XP to reinstall without wiping the entire partition.

Actually, in my experience, partitions = much less fragmentation when you keep the OS partition separate. Across five HDs and a total of seven partitions, the only partition that is ever fragmented at all is the OS partition. I haven't had to defrag anything else in over two years.

I would be against booting starred movies out on age alone; some old movies are still highly impressive when weighed against newer contributions. I wouldn't be against having a quantity limit, though. I'd rather the qualification be on quality, not age.

And a tired debate, at that.

I always thought the in-game time challenge was a bit silly to come up with, but in practice, I like that it (initially) showed a much different path than the realtime movies had. It was nice to see something new, even if the goal itself sounds silly.

I don't see any correlation between this and Dreamcast.

I really don't mind the number of categories for any particular game, as long as the goals are clearly defined and adhered to, and the goals themselves give way to entertaining results. At this point, I don't even care if they get published, because they're still submitted and I can still watch and enjoy them. People get too uptight over such meaningless bullshit, behaving as though the publishing of a run will take away their basic human freedoms and first born children. If you disapprove of new categories purely because they are not the bland and unoriginal fast as possible with no other goals, then don't watch, the movie's not for you. So sick of the holy wars, good God.

Actually, yes, that's one of the few things Vista impressed me with; every system (granted, only three) I've put Vista on, it recognized all hardware 100%, even the wireless on my laptop. That doesn't excuse it from being bloated and slow and clunky, though.

Maybe you did and you just don't remember it! :o Just don't go starting any underground boxing leagues with the intent of creating wide-spread anarchy.

As an aside, putting Win2k in the same class as XP isn't fair - it wasn't designed for the home user in the first place. That said, it's still a very stable platform, even if one that didn't have 9x compatibility in mind.

Ubuntu ran like a dream, unless I wanted to watch any sort of video file. The 'beta' that's floating around is more like a concept demo - it's Vista with a new taskbar and a feedback button on every titlebar, and not much more to speak of than that. I don't know why people are all up in arms about it one way or another - it's not as though this is indicative of the final product. Or at least, we hope it's not.

Even newer systems are potentially bogged down by it. The laptop I'm on right now was shipped to me with Vista on it, and it ran like a quadraplegic until I wiped the disk and gave it a proper operating system. Vista is a plague. A pretty plague, but a plague.

First of all so you get an idea, they said at the conference that it is capable of displaying games with quality very close to that of Resident Evil 4 on the playstation 2.
After seeing screenshots of it in action, I call shenanigans.

I thought it was more strange that the Wii and PS3 share the same price point. Most other markets, PS3 is twice as expensive...
