lol I don't get how you can 'misclick', cuz you still have to submit after before it actually counts.
doing things robotically usually pays off in my life but this time it bit me in the ass

somewhere over the 4+ years ive been watching tas from here, the consensus of what viewers want to see is the player take something really difficult and humiliate it in a visually pleasing fashion you could do this with those extra stages but didnt if you had, i probably wouldve gone meh to yes as is, i vote no edit: i just misclicked and voted yes... that was pro so one of those yes should be a no, except i feel like it wont matter the way the voting is heading

so now five of us are asking about the reason the extra stages were omitted and are being ignored holding my vote still until i hear a reason

so i guess maybe this tas should go to "takes damage to save time" if you can save time at the villa that would be great since that part was really boring despite everything else being entertaining

yeah turns out this is unoptimized there is quite a bit of unnecessary red jewel collecting when progress can be made in the game although he does collect when he cant progress also there were a few other things that seemed strange to me and i have beaten the cornell path of this game three times for example (on red jewels), he collects 10 jewels more than he needs for dracula ultimate even though these jewels are excursions from progressing forward on the walkway to dracula phase 1

if someone makes a tas that beats groobo's run i think that would push it to 80% yes even if it doesnt beat the theoretical optimal tas (and i would vote yes instead of no) then that would allow a judge to dart in, accept, and then dart back out since in the hazy area of 70%-90% the judge gains despotic powers and it seems the judges are all treating this like the "hot potato" from when we were kids with none of them really wanting to be the one who has to uphold either side and deal with the blowback also i think if in a few months we see another sizeable improvement and continue to hear how we should hold off for the theoretical optimal run we will probably ignore the pleas that time around finally, if that improvement was made by an "experienced person" that would also probably boost credibility also sprach zarathustra

Didn't groobo beat this? He was trying to show what an optimal single segment speedrun run would be. It was for testing purposes, anyways. If this is the case this movie should be instantly rejected, and groobo's should be submitted, and judged. And then rejected. groobo got approximately 1 hr. http://uk.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=FC756D90096DE947 From here: http://speeddemosarchive.com/forum/index.php/topic,5097.4395.html He even said his run was shit in irc, iirc.
funniest thing i have ever read on this often dull forum you, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar

someone wrote in small text that they enjoy the currently published movie which i think triggers a similar reaction in me i remember the currently published movie from way back when and it was really fun to watch this previous run, like the mario 64 120 stars run, is entertaining the whole way and does not become drawn out and boring eventually unlike many runs where everyone vastly prefers a shorter version because they get bored at some point see also: majora's mask and glover (must be something about these 3d platformer/adventure games being a blast to watch) so i am going with "no" also, can someone point me to an explanation as to why mupen was adapted for capturing tas? i would think there are at least a few better emulators and bugs in mupen are being blamed for the lack of current progress on an optimal run

i will vote after someone tells me if this theoretical optimal zelda ocarina of time run will ever be done or if this is just a dream perpetuated every time someone submits an improved non optimal run

so why this versus snes version out of curiosity
According to my knowledge, this exact game does not exist for SNES. There is a SNES game called "Madou Monogatari: Hanamaru Daiyouchi Enji", but it seems like a very different game. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
i see screenshots made it seem like a multi-platform title

The text in this run isn't so important and even though I haven't played the game it can be accurately be interpretted "Link, get out of bed someone is causing trouble better equip yourself" "You got a sword" "names of places in pause screen" "Well done Link thank you for saving the kingdom"
well he got 2 out of 4 right though this is a pretty good game, you not big into zelda?

on the one hand, the trend recently of doing everything in japanese to save more time in a non-skillful method at the expense of entertainment is alarming on the other hand, there is minimal text during this 3:45 of gameplay thus, meh

oh description is nice and spiffy now except i think a lot of what it calls "anachronisms" and other weirdness are readily explained by turok taking place in some alternate world called "the lost land" and the campaigner added the cyborgs and robots and crap to take it over but then why does anyone care because there are no people living there in turok 1? now THAT is something to think about although there are village huts and shelters and whatnot i think whatever else can be explained by a trip to wikipedia and looking up the turok comic, although ive never looked it up there myself it probably exists
