I mean no offense to angerfist, but this idea seems pretty ridiculous. The quadrun ended up being a huge disappointment, and I think the addition of two more games to the fray would turn it from a confusing video into a headache-inducing one. Even if it is just one stage.

I've never seen that option; where is it, and are there any keyboard shortcuts? If not, those would be handy - debugens uses F9 for plane A, F10 for B, F11 for sprites and F12 for shadow/highlight.
Graphics->layers They don't have hotkeys yet, and I don't want to add any new hotkeys until I've got the backend for hotkey configurability installed.

First, you can already turn layers off as of gens_movie_9z (or was it 9j). They're slightly mislabelled though, and that will be corrected as of 9.5c. You can already view contents of RAM via RAM search and RAM watch. If you need to know what's going on in the registers you can use the tracing component, which can also be used in conjunction with RAM access logging to know what the contents of a RAM address are at any point that it is accessed. HQ2X rendering is also still present, but only in 16-bit mode. Because all of the graphics filters (except Nitsuja's EPX) were written in x86 ASM, which makes them a huge huge pain to convert to function with a 32-bit surface. Hell, even Nitsuja's EPX filter is not bug-free in 32-bit mode[/quote]

There is a video currently in the queue which may prove this point to be invalid. The Bram Stoker's Dracula has had 2 or so movies rejected. Judges have yet to make a decision, but guessing by the 9 yes votes (the meh was misvoted) it will get published. Additionally, just because a movie is in Gruefood, apparently that doesn't stop it from getting published either. See Cpadof's Super Metroid game-time-based attack.
But were the prior runs rejected due to the run, or due to the game choice?

Although I still disagree with his attitude in regards to sharing/hoarding of trick information, this does allow him to regain some credibility with regards to being able to claim he did things first.

no no no no no. In fact, if the only change between two runs is using default or custom names instead of single character ones, the interesting names should obsolete the single character ones.

I definitely enjoyed watching and listening to this version, and, though I am a bit confused about the dancing in place at the start of 2-1, it looks pretty optimized so I'm voting yes. However, as a user of the TASvideos IRC channel, I emplore you to write your notes all at once, and add them in as a single edit because, well... let me show you

It was at "High (24 bit)". I changed it to 16 bit and it works fine now. Probelm solved.
Gens supports 16 and 32 bit modes. I thought 32-bit support would extend to 24-bits, but appearantly I was mistaken. At least now I know for sure.

Mmbossman, if you'd been around a little longer you'd remember when the queue was 5+ pages long and runs were still new 6 months after submission.

@upthorn : There's no way this TAS is made to obsolete the Aqfaq's one, it just needs a second category. Isn't it really quite obvious ? It's a 100% Treasures run, why do you say it "should not" obsolete the Genesis run while there's no reason at all it could do so >_<. Hopefully you didn't vote yet (I don't see any "meh" vote).
No, what I mean is that, if it were up for obsoleting the genesis run, I would vote "no". Instead I vote "meh".

Yes vote for good run and better audio.
Funny, after listening to music from the genesis version I find the SNES version's audio so annoying I had to stop watching less than 3 minutes in. Also, I imagine it would be a good idea to give aqfaq a chance to look over this submission before accepting, as, although it is on a different system from aqfaq's run, aqfaq probably nows very well how to optimize a TAS of this game, and may see some flaws or improvements that aren't visible to people less familiar with the game. I'm voting a "meh" on this, since there's no way it could obsolete the genesis run. And if it is published I would be strongly in favor of a TAS on the genesis version being able to obsolete it.

... No. Even though the idea is incredibly dumb, it isn't awesome in the least, and therefore falls outside the category of "awesome ideas". It is pretty damn dumb, though. I'll give you that.

Looks like it divided 0.0 by 0.0 and got infinity (or NaN). And then printed the number that you would get if you interpreted the infinity/NaN flag as an actual exponent.

A similar thing happens even in countries considered "free": For example, watch to a newscast on a USA television channel (such as CNN), and it's all* about Bush and Iraq and how they're fighting against terrorism and evil etc.; propaganda that enforces the support towards the country. To get objective information, you need to look what others tell about it; preferably ones who are not affiliated, to avoid bias in any direction. *) Not literally "all", but in a striking proportion.
I don't want to veer the discussion towards politics here, but you're incredibly wrong about this. As someone who watches CNN and actually lives in the US, they absolutely HATE Bush and the present administration, and take every possible opportunity to vilify them.
You only say that because you don't know the real stories. Even CNN totally avoids running stories about the Bush administration's most blatant screwups and blunders. Not because they're backing Bush, necessarily, but because Bush's blunders are America's blunders, and the one thing that CNN has in common with Fox is that they want Americans to be happy with the status quo.

While it is true that JXQ occasionally overreacts to things, I have never seen him take offense at something that wasn't offensive to begin with, and I agree with him completely about Saturn. Though I think that, at this point, its best to drop it until the next time Saturn says something totally out of line. Especially since, as seen here:

Indeed, that is an impressive route you've got there! I believe there exists no run that uses that route yet, even though there are a quite a few interesting routes presented at TASvideos: START -> END START -> MIDDLE START -> MIDDLE -> START -> MIDDLE START -> MIDDLE -> START -> MIDDLE -> SOMEWHERE -> SOMEWHERE ELSE -> END END <- MIDDLE <- START END
Aqfaq totally won this conversation.
