Sounded nice, except I tested it. It still have screwy "listening for input" for gamepad. For example when you try push "button 1" for B or whatever.. it also accept "button 1" for LEFT or any other button randomly.

This hack is interesting, I was entertained from seeing Mario getting through ridiculously hard levels without dying. However you made it sound like you didn't do best effort to make the run, eliminate wait can make a run whole lot better. This gets MEH vote from me.

might be offtopic but I thought I'd suggest it... Stage6 It's a very good embed movie player Pro 1. Plays movie at high reso 2. No upload limit (I think? they even have 3.8 hours movie) 3. Plays movie smoothly, even at fullscreen (at least for me, other embed movie player like flash lags my machine) 4. You can embed video (I remember trying to view embed Stage6 movie, they were crashy, but I haven't tried lately since the new updates) Con 1. You would have to encode/convert movie into divX in order to be able to upload there. (converting tool is supposely free, they have detail on their site) 2. Install "DivX Webplayer" plugin to view. Hmm... no other Con that I can think of.

While looking at snapshot filelist, I see several duplicate movies (or is it?). I mean like these: movies/pub/1021/ventuz-addamsfamily.fcm movies/pub/NES/Addams Family, The (U) [!] - (M1021) in 13:00.0 by JCS (aka ventuz).fcm movies/sub/1788/ventuz-Addams Family, The (U).fcm I mean, only 1 file is needed to see movie, what are the other for?

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. But I gotta admit, I wish I could magically fix everything that's not done well in it (mostly The Pool and spending spare health to take damage to save time). It'll just get 1~3 seconds at most, but I'm satisfied with 13:00.0 time anyway. I also thought over the new route after finishing the TAS. I'm not even sure if it's possible or does it save a lot of times. If in future that any author want to improve upon this one, check this quick MSPaint of house layout {dead link}. The black lines / squares are just an layout of house. The coloured square around area is, well, order to do task. The order of new route I came up with are: 1 (pink) - crypt, the normal way 2 (blue) - freezer, furance, the normal way (yes still skip bucket) 3 (light green) - here, change of route - umbrella (saves time because of coming from freezer / furance) 4 (dark green) - start playing ballroom music, grab one far right $10k back to main 5 (tan) - only grab goggle (or snorkel), return back to main room 6 (light blue) - get cash and Thing, the normal way 7 (purple) - do the normal way 8 (red) - do the normal way, except the fish tank room, don't fall down - skip it (and skip $500 cash too) - continue to attic, roof the normal way too. (I think it is large time save not having to return to long "The Landing" area again) 4 (dark green) - you'll return to musical room, play secret passage music - exit, grab another far right $10k, back to main room (unsure about this part, it'll lose time walking out of house to Garden. Perhap the long music and skipping boring Pugsley dialog will cover this time loss) 9 (brown) - exit the house, head for tree, do the normal way 4 (dark green) before you get to musical room, grab the nearest $10k on left - save pug from secret passage and do the normal way for the rest of the game. If you consider to include take death to save time, tree (after getting egg) and backyard (coming from the pool) works well, it'll save a lot of time - however I think it'll only take entertainment away. NOTE TO ENCODER: Bisqwit said I should note about it, if you choose to encode it: I ended the movie and allowed it to get to "congratulation", "Game Over" screen or whatever it is. Later on, it'll get to "enter your initials", I didn't enter it because all it'll show is scoreboard and go straight to title screen. So I guess the actual movie ends at "enter your initials" screen.

uhh.. Can anyone post a working link to snes9x emu with a reset? I tried snes9x v9 bugfix by JXQ, but it desyncs like Randil described. I tried snes9x v10 from snes9x thread as well, but it desync too. AND I tried downloading the "snes9x v9 reset version" zip from Nibelung's sig but the zip is corrupted.

That's up to movie-watcher to decide whether if movie was good or not. You have to make sure it's entertaining enough to sacrifice frames or you're wasting movie-watcher's time.

Do you know about using "weapon strengthening" item on cursed weapon? They said it hit most of monster in 1 or 2 hits, I haven't look into it myself yet.

I don't know what the heck is this whole "meganet" thing is, I looked up the wiki and it says it's a Sega network service thing, but it didn't list anything about Fatal Labyrinth. And I just want to clear thing up: First post say just "checking out" meganet version. Not TASing it, am I right? Second post added a WIP but not state what rom is it on but I was assuming it was English version because of "fl" in the filename. But the movie desync in both 9.0z and 9.5b gens, and in both English and Japanese rom. I only see 1 "W" rom for Fatal Labyrinth (along with bad and overdump rom's), and 1 "J" rom for Labyrinth of Death. Are you using different rom label?

I'd like to see a finished run. I thought about doing one myself as well but I don't have patent to deal with randomized dungeon (by getting the shortest length to stair). I tried to see your run, uhh: it's completely desync for me. It's either you're using really old emu or wrong kind of rom. What it looked like was you hit green slime once and ran south into corner, get surrounded by 2 red centipede and green slime. I tried japan version as well, you were just getting stuck on walls.

Gunz isn't RPG, I have already played it before and it's boring. Ah I remember something to add to "not to suggest" list.

Wow, thanks for suggestion. Kingdom of Loathing, I didn't like it at all because of "turns" runs out and you have to wait real-time to get more turns. I forgot to add this type of game to "not to suggest" list, thanks for reminding. NetHack counted as ASCII game I think, either way, it's a game where you have to push so many buttons to play it. Press < to go down stair, press > to go up stair, press F to fire gun or fight, press I to open menu, press E to equip, U to use, D to drop, press number, etc... I really hated that type of game. Anyway, these are pretty good suggestion. I have noted most of them and going to look into more detail on them.

I have tried search over internet to find a game to play for a while. Most game out there didn't keep me motivated. The closest I have found was Dungeon Runners, I like it very much because of random generated dungeon, random generated item, much like Diablo, except the thing I wasn't able to continue playing it was most better equipments require membership to wear (which cost 5$ per month). Anyone have any idea what free or "one-time" pay RPG / MMORPG / random dungeon crawling game I should try? No ASCII game. No incomplete game (alpha, beta, lack of content, etc). No exp grinding (that has no other goal) game. No slow real-time turned base game (outwar, Kingdom of Loathing or similar). No "PvP focused" game, I prefer PvE / PvM. Game where PvP is optional is ok. A lot of content or randomized dungeon / items is a plus. List of games NOT to suggest: Owned game list Diablo 2 mods Dungeon Runners Flyff Solstice Tales of Pirate Xiah Space Cowboy Knight Online Ashen Empire Forlorn Online Runescape PristonTale Gunbound MapleStory Hostile Space Ogre Island Adventure Quest Arch Lord Silkroad Online Crossfire games that's higher than this computer spec: 1.6 ghz 895 MB of ram RADEON-9250 (256 MB of ram video card) I'm sure there's more that I have already tried but I can't remember the name of them. If you suggested something I have already tried before, I'll add to the list. I'm open to Morrowind mod / Warcraft 3 map suggestion. Make sure they're good and not buggy / crashy. I'm open to gaming system suggestion as well. (preferred choice: XBOX, GC, PS2, PS3, GBA, NDS)

Did you try delete whole snes9x folder before you download another and unzip it? Other than that, I don't know.
