Happened to JAWS, the old run was beaten by non-TAS and adelikat decided to make the new one. The old movie didn't go "un-publish" but was obsoleted.

I always change avatar every once a while. Whenever I change to a new avatar - it may be a hint that I'm working on a TAS for it. The one I'm currently have is from Lupin the 3rd (J), he is in shocked animation. I tried to create a TAS on that game for speedruns.net contest but snes9x was just being a desyncing demon so I just gave it up.

No sign of interest? I'm seriously taking this one up again. Before that I were TASing only using 1 savestate, if I mess up, I replay entire movie until the part wherever I mess up. And I were not 100% aware of what's happening behind the game (how long to charge up Mega Arm, how long sliding last, how much enemy's health, etc..) See how painful is that, haha -_-... Now being experienced with TAS (I'm using 4 savestates this time) and with Gocha's memory watcher, I can do this one more quicker and more precision. But for now, I'm overwhelming with a lot of homeworks - sometime after May 1st I'll have more spare time and be more focused on MM5 sgb TAS.

D09A - metroid remains D064 - shots on screen, the same one you had, can't get specific numbers of shots itself so far - I guess it's the way Nintendo designed. 56 - none, 60 - one, 64 - two, 68 - three, and other numbers for animation. (standing + shoot 3 at once equal to rolling + shoot 3 at once still yield no result) DD31 - bomb 1 DD41 - bomb 2 DD51 - bomb 3

Wow, this argument is epic. Anyway, I don't normally want to get involved in argument, but I wanted to express what I think what's right and what's wrong in hoping to reduce argument in here. If you go buy a DVD movie - Shaolin Soccer, for example - it comes in the U.S. Theater Version and Chinese Version. The U.S. version last 1 hour 30 minutes while the Chinese version last 2 hours. The U.S. version has English voice-acting but has 30 minutes worth content cut out, while the Chinese version has all the content but no English voices available. I feel that that is the exact same as the (U) and (J) ROM difference. To me publishing U over J is not right, you can't expect exactly the same bugs, glitches, and/or speed in both of them. I know obsolete movies won't be deleted, but it's about publishing. So think it over for this situation, is it right if they decided to put in ONLY the U.S. theater version, with no extra content seen at all in your Shaolin Soccer DVD? Would you be happy? The quality of the run is good, but please don't put it over (J) version. Separate category is OK with me. Or maybe you should PM Bisqwit asking about version switch before starting a run next time? *note - I know there's a few ROM switch's, I wasn't there for argument to make separate category.

I'm thinking of taking this up again. It's all thank to Gocha for his VBX memory watcher tool, if he didn't wrote such program I wouldn't ever take up this task again. I have found ton of useful memory, so it would help me a lot on timing for everything (jumping, invulnerable, charged shot, etc). Here's what I have so far:

I think there's a problem, I could not get this certain address showing any digit. *edit - wait.. I used BGB emu, it's showing DE80 for game frames instead and it worked on memory watcher, something wrong with VBA's cheat searcher.

Is it possible to put in your own arithmetic to display value you want to see? For example if game shows that you have 10 healths, then for some odd reason value shows 20 in memory watcher, adding your own arithmetic like value / 2 = real value will be seen in game. Or another example, character "live" shows 2 in game but shows 3 in memory watcher, change to value - 1 = real value.

Yes it did came up with "Movie Replay" but nothing happen on game, I can still control it.
