Doesn't sound like valid method to reject games run. I think more valid way to get games run to get published would be doing game review (written, picture, videos, etc.. The Angry Video Game Nerd for example) those usually interests me into playing certain game and probably gets other people to look into your runs.

Well, this game deserves delay or cancel for now. TAS can be improved farther (at least 3 seconds more) but I won't be able to redo TAS for a while since I'm pretty busy lately. I have noted where can be improved user page (point to sig).

save state
That made me having to add more ideas -_- On the savestates part, talk about the purpose of using different save slots would be good idea, such as using slot 1 is your current tas, slot 2 would be small rollback, slot 3 would be your best attempt, and slot 4 would be large rollback portion on read-only (rather than re-run your tas). Using Mega Man 1 for NES for an example, lets say Elec Man is completed and you are on Cut Man stage. Slot 1 - You are in middle of fighting Cut Man. (Current working) Slot 2 - The begin of Cut Man fight. Slot 3 - End of Cut Man with fastest time. Slot 4 - The beginning of Cut Man stage, use read-only. Then.. bleh.. you get the idea, or you might have better idea. I dunno how to explain the whole progress. Another ideas, the purpose of backup file (in case of accident delete, FCEU corrupt, etc..) and the purpose of toggle Read+Write and Read-Only and their use.

That's a good start, I have some idea:
Game selection (are you picking popular game, fast paced game, or game that's already published? = good to go) Review your completed run (Anything improvable might be spotted - Yeah I know I have bad habit!) Be aware of your game (play it normally, look up guide on beating game, 100% game, hidden stuff, find your own glitch, L+R, U+D, all that)

I'd like to see Metroid 2 tas, but I would have to agree with everyone that it's a poor quality, and seem like you wasn't aware of www.metroid2002.com website (such as corner fall fast trick)

Thanks for positive replys, I think final boss part can be improve (because I went a bit rush there) - can status change to delay? I'm not sure about cancelling and resubmit or ask for a video replace. *update, 233 frames faster at the end - I'm looking to replace it or resubmit it.

Heh, thanks, I'm actually planning it on and off. I'll get it started on new GENS version. Here's my plan I have so far: 1. do lake xp trick to lvl 3, get 4~6 rations 2. get 2275 xp on the way to 10,000 golds and back to town (it's for spells up to MOVE) 3. sleep in INN 4. go to sub city, buy weapon + sleep in INN 5. ... do the rest of the game And here's what I need to do testing before begin a TAS on: 1. Need compass for spaceship? 2. Need ID for water palace? 3. How much health to kill final boss?

I'm working on a new run that's intended to obsolete FunkDOC's run. I have it faster around 88 frames so far, but I have mystery problem with wizard boss at the end of first level. I have embarrassingly lost 11~14 frames in the wizard boss itself, I tried to review FunkDOC's run over and over - I cannot locate what he do to kill wizard very quickly. Here I timed for comparative, when text turn from "XP" to "ENEMY" - the beginning.. and when wizard dies, burst in fire (just like my avatar right now) - the ending. It took FunkDOC 315 frames to complete it and it took me 326 frames to complete it. Anyone know how to contact FunkDOC (or JoshDOC? or Josh the FunkDOC?) Or could anyone help me with this part?

I have thought about making run, but from looking at existing thread, blublu's run was very good - I don't think I could do better than that. Have you seen blublu's WIP movie? And I didn't know there was a completed SML3: Wario Land run (that you say was rejected)? Don't bother posting in existing thread, in my own opinion; existing thread is completely trash except blublu's WIP movie.

It may be VBA not emulating GB games properly, VBA crashes game at final boss on Kid Icarus: Of Myth and Monsters.

Right, these are another way to publish TAS movies. However these progress are VERY invisible on my side - I mean did he really ask for permission? Did xipo (or any other players) go to speedruns.net and submit the movie file? Their forum almost blank (I can see Dark Fulgore and MattyXB posting there tho). If he did really asked for permission, they left out "with permission from {playername}...", if they didn't - it would be (in my term) 'stealing' then.

*thread necromancer* I just ran into this youtube user, he uploaded all kind of videos from here. I think few of you knew about it. It seem that he only credit to player, but not ever mention about TASVideos - even his own website. It just that I'm left unexplained why this user come here and 'take' movie file, then encode .avi - crediting player, but claim as their own "present by speedruns.net"

Ok, not that familiar with youtube terms, is a "directors" account special?
yes, it allows user to upload video longer than 10 minutes but it still capped at 100MB size, free to sign up for.

rom is Super Hydlide (U) [!] sound rate 44100 3 buttons control plays movie fine And also you need your SRAM specifically for Super Hydlide has 4 or less character created, full slot will make it desync. I don't know what else is the cause of desync. *edit - I also have video uploaded to youtube if you don't want to deal with desync / downloading files.

Heh, I can't magically copy n paste terms from Playstation 2 into this computer. The JIS translate guides / faqs on GameFAQs is good enough, I just didn't know about forcing browser to encode in ShiftJIS.

This is a sequel to NES title "Hydlide", I wanted opinions from you guys if this game is any interesting for you to watch. I have made a small test play on Gens 9z. This game is incredible short, along with configable game-speed. I believe I can get this game completed under 40 minute. I have do route planning and some testing on certain items. I'm looking forward to begin a TAS on this game when there's a GM2 release. What do you think?
