I started making a tas for Golden Axe 3. I have only done a portion of level 1 so far. http://rapidshare.com/files/451271331/Golden_Axe_3.gmv Any tips on how to improve my work so far would be greatly appreciated.
Look good, but no idea how did you do it in just 94 rerecording count.

I noticed you continue hitting ifrit after "Hm! Not bad" message. I think ifrit doesn't attack after that, you wait more and then the battle ends. I could be wrong, it been a long time since I last played FF8.

I was learning how to make LUA script. I made a level selector for Addams Family, fun experience I must say. Get it here. How to use it: open a start menu in-game, the rest of instruction in there. Not intended to use with TAS, but it can help you learn more about game I suppose. Or use it for fun. *EDIT - Uploaded Version 2, redownload if you have old one. - Minor correction with naming room - Fixed where game glitch up when you press select while holding start - Stopped Gomez from being stuck in swimming mode when you teleport out of pond

You should aim for perfection. Take advantage of multiple savestate, use the toggle read-only and read+write. Try to do a TAS on an existing movie, attempt to beat it faster, and check your own result. (like just level 1 or something)

Ok I see that now. I had to flip them on and off at different time to make game go farther but by the time I get to battle part, no matter when I turn it on or off, it doesn't fix battle animation freezing. Same place as PSXjin.

Ok I can see Irq/SPU hack fix for Valkyrie Profile from sound plugin in PCSX-RR which is not in PSXjin. But I cannot start NEW GAME from title screen. Seem like I cannot figure out anything at all with this game, not worthy for a TAS then. Better off do other PSone game I guess.

I tried all of them, none fixes that freezing up animations in battle part. That's a planned fix for later PSXjin updates right?

I'm currently using ImgBurn to dump ISO. It seem great program, but seem to giving me read error on one of game (so far).. is Valkyrie Profile. ImgBurn seem to completed ISO dump after skipping few of those read errors, but game giving me problem in PSXjin, battle freezing up animations. Is it because bad dump or it just emulator? Is there way to check for good dump? Is there better ISO dump program than ImgBurn? (better as in least read error)

I just discovered a new glitch, it got me excited a bit, I think it could save at least 10 seconds (or more?) It makes Gomez flys left or right direction and go thru wall (no, not out of boundary) But first I'm curious if this glitch also can be performed on console, just curious if it's legit glitch or not. Because it very easy to perform and I don't know why NOONE notice it or post about this glitch at all, leading me to think this isn't legit glitch. Could someone with Addams Family cart try it on console and report back? To do this glitch: 1. Find any stair / ladder (rope / curtains won't work) 2. Walk up (press up) 3. When you reach to top, continue holding UP - SUCCESS you performed glitch. You can do it at bottom stair if you use U+D same time (press down first, then U+D, then release down) To have this glitch working, you have to continue holding UP. You can move to different room, but downside of this, you can't enter door with B or up until you release UP (loses glitch) To use this glitch: Jump in air, if you let go all buttons except UP, Gomez will be stuck in air still. If you jump in air left or right direction then let go all button except UP, Gomez will begin flying left or right. It can be used in SDA run if it works on console version, but only UP direction. *edit - now with gif!

Did you question him before going ban him? I think its harsh if you banned him outright, I mean he might have reason why there's multiple IP?

Got 2 or 3 questions. 1. Is it safe to start TAS on it? Will tasvideo accept beta movie even when PSXjin is done? 2. Does it support CD swap during movie recording and replaying movie? 3. From above, if yes, how does it work? From recording side, and replay movie side? It kinda weird thinking about how it going to work... "Load your first CD iso" then "Load your second CD iso" then play movie or gonna have to "Load your second CD iso" in middle of replay?

Wow, nice run. Train part was good one, I didn't know about it. Joker was skippable? Yes I agree Joker part is huge pain to do TAS.

His health amount is saveable.. like if you drop him to 9/10 health, leave arena, save game.. come back later, he's still 9/10.

I think this is something you're looking for? I could be wrong, I don't have AviSynth installed to check it out.

lol I don't wanna seem stupid but, even when it said "LOCKED", it would still be locked on RAM Watch, on both MHS and PCSX RAM Watch, but.. In game, it would be as if nothing happened... Usually, I'm assuming that means I may have the wrong value for his speed, but... This is the only value in which it actually goes up when I move by quite a bit.. and 3 times I did RAM search to find the right value, in the off chance I was wrong, but all 3 times, it still was the 000F87F0 value.
Maybe it's something like emu refresh rate faster than MHS? I'm not sure. I've been following this thread somewhat, so I'm interested in result.

The java files? I don't know, I think they can be compiled into .exe? And if it's simple enough for window TAS - you might get better answer at this thread.

You could be: 1: Trying enter "ROM" address into "RAM" cheat code.. or other way around, "RAM" address into "ROM" cheat code. It obviously don't work that way, it need to be same, I've no idea where did you find code from. 2. Game you're using may have multiple version "v1.0", "v1.1", "v1.2".. etc.. some of them have different address offset. For example, cheat code made for 1.1 sometime won't work for v1.0 and v1.2. 3. Doing something wrong on entering code in emu.

Here's the code I found: 0009C929 40 The emu says the format for patch codes is XXXXXX:YYYYY, so the code should be 0009C9:2940 then? I did that and it didn't work.
try 09C929:0040?

People whose is new to TAS will probably think this is impressive stunt, but I think it's too many wall jumping, through wall, and waiting for time really hurt its entertainment. Can you try different game HappyLee?
