I waited for what seemed like forever and then some for anything to happen, then I started fast forwarding, only stopping to read text. I got through it in about a minute after that, but it didn't leave any lasting positive impression on me.
Excuse my language but what the FUCK? Is there no limit to your condescension?
It appears to be more limited than your capacity for irrational and inexplicable outbursts of anger.
Now to address your main point, I find it necessary to remind you that there are gentle ways of letting people know you disagree with them, or don't like something they have created, etc. NecroVMX is definitely in the wrong because he is unkind in his criticism, and there is never an excuse for that sort of behavior.
Moreover, NecroVMX's opinion doesn't actually matter on this forum. The results of his or anyone else's voting don't actually determine which movies will and will not be published. The judges certainly keep one ear tuned to the preferences of the community, and to a certain extent the voting results show which runs people are most eager to see encoded, but at the end of the day the votes don't even matter. That's not really a bad thing, though. Democracy is an insidious and treacherous mistress.
Given the realities of the system, if you concern yourself with the feelings of others, the only real justification for voting no on a movie is if you have found a material improvement, mention it and show proof, and then politely ask the submitter to work it into the run.
His fault is not that his opinion differs from the majority. There is a moral fault here, though it is a subtle one. Perhaps because most of you are young and opinionated and probably not very empathic you fail to notice it. But, for example, because I'm actually a nice guy, I don't download movies I know I'm not interested in and just vote no after not being entertained.
After all, this voting process is not supposed to be democratic. All it really serves to do is highlight unexpectedly good runs for relatively unknown games that otherwise no one would pay attention to, like Gimmick. A shitty run is not going to be published even with a million affirmative votes, and a great run is not going to be neglected even with a million negative votes.
NecroVMX doesn't actually contribute anything positive to any discussion when he forcibly injects his assholery into the equation. His opinion is truly, actually, and objectively moot. So I don't really see why he has to be an asshole about it.
No, I'm saying I don't like this one. That's all I'm saying.
That's not really all you're saying. You knew before watching this run that it was heavily glitched. It is no doubt correct to say you knew enough about it to be able to determine that you wouldn't like watching it even before you watched it, no matter how completely the author fulfilled his stated goals or how well he played. Why do you even bother downloading and watching movies you know you won't like? That was a rhetorical question, of course, as everyone already knows the answer.
My favorite one is Rocky III because of that awesome training scene with Apollo Creed where they are racing on the beach, and when Rocky finally beats Apollo, they prance into the water, splashing around and giggling and grab assing. It really showed the softer side of those characters, and the depth of their relationship.
Rocky Balboa isn't called Rocky VI because that is a real movie that came out in the mid 80's. It was a parody of the Rocky series made before anyone suspected they might get to VI. In an astonishing coincidence that can only be explained by a monstrous airborne pasta, it was made by Finns.
Get running shoes with good padding. Also, they should fit your stride. (To adjust for pronation.)
After the after run stretch, ice your knees.
Run on a track instead of on cement.
Make sure you run with proper form to minimize impact with each step. You should be rolling off your heels instead of coming down with a jarring step. You can listen to your stride easily on a treadmill. Most people, when they run on a treadmill, go *thudthudthudthud* but you should try to minimize that. You should be able to run on a treadmill with virtually no noise due to impact. Get a feel for that noiseless stride and use it always.
Get used to it? My knees always ached a bit on runs over 9 or 10 miles but it was never anything debilitating.
