Is it just me, or does it look like the wireframe Sigma model is just a sprite with scaling and rotating added? The SNES seemed to at least do maths to render geometry.

Yes.
Indeed. Thanks. PS: A note that won't be useful in any way in the TASing of the game, but I found while playing with RAM and the screen flipping. The game doesn't just change how the video is sent to the display, it actually changes the gravity, and if you force that change not to happen, you fall "sideways" off the stage when you start the stage.

On Android based system on MX Player the video stops at 34 seconds, but audio continues. Effort to seek after that point proves fruitless. If I try to seek back to 00, it happens again as 34 seconds. I'll try VLC and see if the same happens. But I really prefer MX. I can try Kodi too. PS: It's the Compatability version with "512k" in the filename. Will also try non Compatability and YouTube versions. PPS: Playing from USB storage. Will try onboard. Edit: 512k on LAN, USB, and Local: Video error at ~00:00:34 Normal MKV on LAN and USB(Local not tested): No issues besides "normal" pixel problems. YouTube: Not tested. VirtualDub reports no errors on the 512k file. MPC on PC handles everything fine. Edit: VLC for Android has no issues. Edit: MediaInfo for PuttPutt says
Duration : 7mn 29s
Source duration : 6s 772ms

Both archive downloads seem to not be working.

Audio commentary seems to stutter playing the "Compatibility" encode over my LAN. I'll copy it to local storage and try again. Edit: That solved it.

Any chance for a greyscale anaglyph version?

Can the thumbnail for this run being a GIF of link jumping down from a ledge and edgewalking across a pit with Deal With It Glasses edited onto his face? Edit: Kind of fell apart near the end when the room glitching got out of control and skipped to the last boss, but this is a TAS after all. PS: Is there any consideration for cross-game stuff, or could one just use the same input for most of the game if someone decides to do both?

Awesome, this entry has been updated. Time to ponder the universe until I find out what changed.

They "happened to get published" because 100% upgrades with no Zero parts was formerly any%, and the other run was its polar opposite and made a nice change of pace (and also showed off an easter egg in the ending). Nowadays, however, they are somewhat less important in the grand scheme of things, as 100% upgrades is not the fastest run anymore.
I'm not even gonna try to imagine the combinations of runs for X3.

So, the No upgrades best ending, and the All upgrades no zero, were more like partial completions of the 100% runs and just happened to get published.

Why would a 100% run obsolete an low% or any% run?
They are neither low% nor any%, strictly speaking. The no-upgrades run still collects the Zero parts.
Why would a 100% run obsolete special conditions run?

I looked at the subtitles file to see if there were any subtitles during the 8 minutes. I have trust issues...

Would this help with debugging what went wrong?
This *could* be useful if this were an SNES game but keep in mind that the SGB has its own Z80 / Game Boy processor that this device is unlikely to help with. Interesting thought, though! Hopefully my next post in this thread will be a successful reproduction but we'll see what happens. Thanks for the discussion!
Could we look for an EXT port of sorts on the DMG? It might just be solder points though, not an actual slot. Or maybe just tap into the processor pins.

That could be explained by the fact that I was addressing someone who was active in the topic when "this" was said, not you.

A console verification usually doesn't disqualify a work. A console verification usually shows that a run works on the console.
https://i.imgur.com/F6DULYP.png Maybe you spelled "this" wrong when you Ctrl+F'd? Did you go a page back just in case your posts/page setting was different?

I didn't even think of that, tbh. But no, I stopped because I didn't want to try for 50 hours and probably not get it done. Maybe there is a good setup that you can try on console, but I didn't find it..
"This" means you attempt at console verification, right? I thought you meant "this" as your TAS run.

I tried to verify it at one point but I didn't find a suitable setup and if there was one it would take like 1000 attempts. Assuming the pause bug the way it happens in vba does not happen on console, I would have wasted hours and hours upon this so I stopped.

I am actively trying to console-verify this general movie via re-creating this in lsnes inside SGB. Unfortunately, this movie does not sync on VBA 480 (or at least not in CrossOver Linux / WINE) so I'll either need to go back to 391 where this movie was recorded or ignore the problem and try to go with Spikedstuff's suggestion of viewing it in TAS movie editor. I would not turn down help on this adventure; if I can get this to work I'd like to pitch it as a donation incentive for Summer Games Done Quick 2016, but I digress. If I am able to console verify this movie I will update here. I'll probably take further technical discussion to the Super Mario Land 2 thread.
What if you bypassed the SGB completely and just tried to console verify on a GB, GBC, GBA, or DS?

I think that the colloquial definition of 100% for SSSV is "everything except for that one trophy," so prepare to be underwhelmed.
What if they find a way to manipulate RAM?

I made a commentary for anyone who's interested. http://ia360927.us.archive.org/0/items/GunstarHeroesTasCommentary/gunstarheroescommentary.mp3 It's not on the level that adelikat and Baxter are suggesting, but I lack the tech savvy to set that up (I also lack a good video capture program).
The synching for the commentary seems a bit off. I made a new MP4 with an edited audio file that began as soon as the "one" ended in the waveform. You seem to start talking about level selection before the title screen even leaves. Should I have started the video before "one"? Where does you "avi" begin? Mine is from boot(the one on this site).
