The Replay is not a controller, it is a device that sends electrical impulses to the SNES. And if you were conveying controls that aren't possible via button press on stock hardware, then you are not console verifying. I'm fine with these runs existing, and even saying they work on a real console with the device, but we're getting to the point where we need to specify and separate runs that cannot be achieved using the real buttons on stock hardware. Also, do we have any Gameboy console verifications? All you'd need to do is solder in the button leads, right?

Also, I'd love to get this working on an emulator so I can feel the rhythm of the crazy dashing.

I think Crazy Box lends itself to being TAS'd more than a High Score.

Are we at the point where we need to remake the replay specs to specify you must use a controller and have a specific category if you're just pumping polls into the controller port?

This run is way too long. It needs to be shorter. Can we have categories for "Uses Multi-Tap" or "Uses Buttons Not "Pushable" On Stock Unmodified Hardware"?

Seems less of a "warp" and more of a boundary bypass. And any info on if anything interesting is up OOB?

Since "any% no OoB" and "100%" would both be "no OoB", I'd leave that glitch for only 1 branch label - this one's.
Wasn't there a Castlevania that used OOB and did 100%?

Yeah, SotN has a total of 4 resolutions (512x240 [title screen] being the largest). I just upsampled all to that so I don't lose any video information.
I'm guessing they're all 240 high then. I've also noticed, while playing SotN, that character sprites and backgrounds aren't the same ratio. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/xnamkcor/sotn256x207.png PS: Square Pixels on the PSP version. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/xnamkcor/snap032.png

I'm gonna assume the odd resolution for the encode is due to the native resolution of the menu screen.

If we somehow found a way to hack Maria into the PSX SotN, using the code from the PSP version, could we TAS that? PS: Is your avatar David Bowie?

I wonder if we'll find a way to specially emulate whatever emulator or engine they're using for SotN on PSP before the PSP gets a TASable emulator. PS: I tried to request "AVI" recording, but the person insisted on focusing on the fact that "AVI" isn't a format, but a container. I guess, in his language, quotation marks aren't as diverse in their usage. At the very least he seems interested in implementing uncompressed recording. Which is a massive step over some of the more silly developers who insist that MPEG is good enough.

Any chance of the PSP version getting a TAS?

Should Game Boy Advance compatibility be successfully emulated, would you do a 100% version?
Dolphin has an option for "GBA" in the "Gamecube" tab of the "Config" dialog. I don't have any GBA compatible games and I don't want to do it at school ,but when I get home I'll see if the option actually works. PS: Was I just not paying attention, or does Billy and Co. go almost 2.5 Hours without saying "Yatta", then suddenly say it? Some sort of oversight on the localisation team forgetting to translate a clip that rarely gets used?

Also, the stairs seem like they are programmed like crap. Can you seriously not jump on the stairs?
If I remember correctly, you could not jump onto stairs until SCV IV, and you couldn't jump off until Chi no Rondo or Dracula X(SNES). PS: Welcome to Akumajou. Enjoy your stay. PPS: Thank you for ignoring the people who think Bad Console Hardware = Bad TAS and publishing this.

So, there is a Hadouken Bit. Is it normally given if you get a password and it is ignored when entered? Or is it completely unused?

It allows you to keep your hadouken when you continue with a password, if you hold them as you confirm the password. Otherwise, you'll lose your hadouken and have to get it again.
You mean it gives you Hadouken? From what I remember, Hadouken isn't stored in the password, at all. And there is no SRAM. So it seems like "keeping" the Hadouken, and more of just a code to force yourself to have Hadouken.

To get Hadouken, you need to have all subtanks, all upgrades, all hearts and you have to have watched the dialogue with Zero after beating all stages, and you also need 32 full bars of health. To actually use it, you just need 32 bars of health, although the animation won't display correctly if you don't have the helmet upgrade. You can see this by inputting the password 7774 5142 5822 and holding R+L+X+down as you press Start.
What does R+L+X+d do? I'm not familiar with any controller input codes for any of the games, besides the C4 Chip Diagnostic in X2 and X3.

Man, this run makes me look like a one-legged retard, especially in the climb with Hammer Joes. PS: Does the game read total HP for Hadouken? Or Hearts Collected? If so, would you plan on doing a "100%" glitch run? It'd be fun seeing how the path would go if you had all the weapons to start. Then again, you'd just be collecting armors, Hearts, and Hadoukens. Or just Armors and the Hadouken.

If "Getting Bombs" is defined, in the Zelda series, as being able to get them as random drops. It could be said that you always "have" bombs and they are about the same as Rupees, and can have Zero Count without it meaning you missed an item. Also, since it's stored in the save file, would entering each map tile be a requirement for "100%"? Getting the one Ring instead of both follows the precedent set by Ocarina, where the TASer got the Gold Gauntlets before the Silver Gauntlets.
Well, I never played this game, but are the map tiles recorded onto a map like the handheld Castlevania games? If not, then I think it would be pointless. :P
Until he gets the Map for the dungeon, you can see the map being filled.

The new ZMBV codec seems to have no suport on the latest MPC-BE. I had to manually add DLLs and run a Registry patch to get support. Are there any plans to provide a guide on how to get support for this codec? Seems odd to start using a new codec without putting a message in a first runs using the Codec. Edit, the manual install didn't work and I even tried updating MPC-HC. Neither work. I'll look more into it, but introducing new codecs should be handled better than this. Edit: Got it working by installing and using the 32-bit version of MPC-BE.

I've seen high resolution N64 encodes. Are high resolution PSX encodes a thing?

I saw this on my YouTube feed and had to come over here. Sorry I'm so hard to get a hold of (YouTube doesn't make any effort to alert you about your inbox). The run is amazing and I don't believe that it is right that I have my name included on this. While I had worked on an Amy run a while ago (June 2012), it was literally less than a week that I had done so. I'm glad that my WIP was helpful and I really appreciate the thought, but I couldn't in my right mind accept any credit for this. Amazing job on this though and sorry to see that the 100% run didn't come to be.
Go to the channel, then look where the "Subscribe" button was. There should be a gear icon there. Click it and check "Email with new uploads".

Qwerty made an attempt to TAS Amy@S3K as Pink Knuckles, just for your interest. But yeah, there are a lot of places where you stuck and can only restart the game using start+A sequence
There's documentation on fixing the level events, but at that point you're just playing as a miscolored Knuckles, which ruins the challenge. PS: On the subject of unorthodox runs, will the Debug ROM of Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time ever get their own TAS?
