Not really... IIRC to the right for the card description below the picture, there is a symbol that represents which series the card belongs to. I was referring more to that, though the reload savestate idea was ROFL

I can't access any of the links :( EDIT: It just timed out. Just remembered a workaround via another proxy... Ahh, it would sweeter if you could design a TAS related symbol for the whole series...

Hmmm, was looking at the movie description for this run, and something struck me as weird:
Movie Description wrote:
Be amazed as Juste Belmont, Simon's grandson, has to do the usual vampire hunting; despite looking nothing like his grandfather (or, a man at all).
Sounds broken, and the semi-colon is used inappropriately. Maybe some editor can take note of this and make the necessary changes

Question: How about making a run for the Genesis version next? I personally hated the SNES Aladdin... But anyway, the playthrough was solid, it was interesting to see Aladdin standing in lava for a short moment... though the screenshot kinda spoilt it :( Yes vote anyway

I never knew there was a policy on trick pages, I just thought there were insufficient number of contributors for the various pages... probably to avoid abuse eh? In any case, just update the thread with all the tricks in it, anybody who intends to remake the run would probably refer to that as well as CAD's submission text; it should be good enough

Haha, now that you brought that up, it would be interesting to have the screenshot of the game at the highscore board... LOL! But, well, let's wait till this gets accepted, it's well played so it probably shouldn't be a problem as soon as desyncs get out of the way

Haha, I am surprised AKA didn't support his fellow Mario64 author for this award... or maybe it's precisely because he knows the game so well that he feels otherwise :)

I nominate FractalFusion's Monopoly 4 CPU Bankrupt and trazz's Golden Axe for the Total Humiliation of AI award :) Also, I would like to nominate Aqfaq for the Most Thoughtful Author award, for shortening the Dark Castle run to 1 minute...
Aqfaq wrote:
I managed to skip most of the game, which is good because Dark Castle sucks.
Ahhh... how considerate :P EDIT:

I guess more accurately, you should say the least downloads to time published ratio. That would be much more accurate, since newly published movies can still be judged on the same criterion

Good run with plenty of LAWL-factor. My only complain is that the split screen stages are done so fast they give me a headache :S Awesome stuff, YESSIR!

The bonuses puzzled me; there were times when you let Knuckles get bumped around by the bumpers multiple times though it didn't seem to have very significant effect on building up speed... I just didn't quite get that part. Other than that it was pretty sweet, though disappointing that we didn't get to see as much zipping through the terrain... if only it was possible to zip into the bonus rings

I would think MUPEN write support would be the hardest to implement, considering the analog movements and stuff... I would say go for FMV first, since most movies are still done for NES, then move to VBM and M64. Just my opinion though.

I originally included the crotch scratching with the intention of it becoming the screenshot for this game, but what the heck, ZOMBIE RIDER ftw!

Yes vote naturally... it just perturbs me that somehow AKA's run was published so quickly while this gets wrapped up in 'red tape'; is an improvement any less worthy of the treatment AKA's run got? Just wondering...

Ok, back to this thread again. Basically I was fiddling out with different strategies for the stages and now i am conviced that i can do it much faster! So I shall rework on this probably soon; it's a short run, so I doubt I would take too long to complete it especially with the route and stuff all planned already. Actually I found a new glitch, which involves UP+DOWN. What it does is weirdly make the game treat a 6-button controller as 3-button. Though it forces you to be in the squat position, it is sweet since a) it grants temporary auto-block and b) you could it allows Sketch to search through his inventory 3-button style (which is useless but cool). To Zer0: Found any new strats or glitches? I was thinking if you found any cool tricks, do tell me; perhaps we could even redo the run together :P

Hey, to any publisher who intends to work on this... please keep it on hold for the time being. I have found much improvements and will probably be in the process of working on them. Mainly more precise plays and newer faster strategies, so no point publishing it yet :) i think getting it under 11 is possible, though it would still be tough

New function suggestion: How about a "Skip to next frame with an input" function? I can imagine in this same dialogue that appears, you can also skip to the next frame with a "B" input, or skip to next frame with exactly a ">B" input. Something to this extent. Useful in situations where there are plenty of blank frames and you are trying to source for when the next input occurs, or remove the next ? input, or add something different immediately before or after a particular input. Hope my description is sufficiently clear... Btw, I like Truncated's idea

If it helps, I used 0585 for my rom, ie the USA version not the E or J version

And yes, they had reverts in TPHS 2...
I just checked gameFAQs and Zurecco is right, THPS 2 only has manual, no reverts.

I have never played THPS 1, only 2 & 3 on the PSX, so maybe my comments were targetted more towards a THPS 2/3 run. From what Zurecco said, THPS 1 seems to have much fewer tricks to showcase, which doesn't sound as exciting... I may be wrong (again). For THPS 1, it sounds to be more of street skating, so I think Geoff Rowley would be good (Darkside Grind FTW).

I can almost imagine a TAS... a single trick combo from start to end: manual => grind => off half-pipe => boneless => crazy vert tricks => revert => repeat... I am just wondering, how many level goals can be completed in a single go? With good route planning, 50% on average?

Going to watch this now... think I am going to like the revision :) EDIT: That was short and sweet, and downright hilarious. Looked like a ownage sniper on pot. Chocked up plenty of bonus towards the end, lol, the second last headshot gave +19800 pts LOL! Every shot seemed to be made as quickly as possible considering reload etc, so it is pretty optimized it seems. Taking off heads without zoom was sweet, when I suggested it I never knew it could be pulled off... Overall YES.

Actually I just found out the Kung Fung fight could be done seconds faster, since it's possible to manipulate the number of fireballs he shoots before the fight by the same method I used ? . I am hoping to find a few more other places where I can save time, and if I do, I will probably redo the run and try to get it under 11. I doubt anyone still plays much of this, but if you happen to discover any tricks, do bring them up :)

Is there a page that lists all moon runs? And are moons even displayed any where else other than in the new movies page? Otherwise it would be pretty meaningless moon-ing movies if these notations are not noticable... EDIT: Just realised that November 2006 is an incredible month for us! 5 Starred runs already! I don't think there has ever been so many in a single month before... WOW
